Congressional Insanity: Sue OPEC over Oil Prices
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to ehaase's topic in The Lounge
Why the f*ck would they do something like that?!?!? High prices are finishing off our economy and our dumb assed leaders are trying to tighten the supply even more?!?! The self destruction in this country has hit an all time high. All for the sake of some bull$h! environmental "game" -
Congressional Insanity: Sue OPEC over Oil Prices
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to ehaase's topic in The Lounge
I agree 100% Currently, there isn't a supply issue. Is Congress this out of touch with reality?!?!? I mean, I know they're dumb, but c'mon... OPEC has our balls on the cutting board, whether we like it or not, it is NOT in our best interest to piss them off. What? Does america think we actually matter as customers? Yeah right! OPEC would be just as at home selling more oil to China and India anyways, especially given their rate of growth relative to ours. -
I feel bad for these people, but seriously... because his lawyer instructed him not to. Ya gotta love the society we live in. It's not acceptible to even call black people "black" anymore, yet this guy can insult an entire town and it's perfectly "P.C." Hell, he should've just came out and made a racist comment since that was the root of it, after all. People that it is acceptible to criticize in the new P.C. society. 1) "rednecks" 2) midgets 3) old people and 4) domestic drivers. That's always eerie (to me) anyway, when helicopters are flying that low. I've actually been able to wave at people in them before when they're flying over lines. This is just one of those bad situations that you hate to see happen.

Maybe Uncle Bob was one-hundred percent right ...

Eventhough global warming is bullsh*t... And it is. I still don't think much can be done to sway public opinion. The ignorant masses have found something else to panic about (Think: Cold War, Communism, Witches) And as such, the elite of our now global society have found something that will 'keep the masses under control'. Nothing more than good 'ole Conflict Theory in Sociology; the elite control the masses through policy, lies and limiting freedom. Think of it like this; GM now makes some of the best cars in the world, yet the ignorant masses still believe exactly the opposite because they are TOLD to do so. People could be freezing their asses off in Mexico and would still believe in global warming because they have been cognitively conditioned to do so. -
I'd like to know what the second Zeta is going to be... Does this mean that the program hasn't been cancelled? Could it be the G8 coupe? Not likely, I know as 1) who knows if we'll even see it and 2) It can probably just as easily be produced in Oz given the volume. Maybe the Lucerne replacement? Maybe the DTS/STS replacement? But I figured that would be assembled at Lansing, I'm not sure why, maybe I just read it somewhere. Maybe a Denali XT type of vehicle?

This is the one I would go with. Of course, it needs quite a bit of work. http://nh.craigslist.org/car/688276968.html These two would be a lot of fun, especially for the money. http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/679642540.html http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/685807006.html That's the great thing about high fuel prices, it's making collector cars cheaper and more plentiful.

I fear that the anti-american politicians will derail the biofuel movement (No doubt big oil is in their pockets) These are the same people that call the farmers "lazy" and the same people that completely outsourced the middle class. I'll wait and see and hope for the best. But my gut instinct is that the OBVIOUS solution to our problems will NOT be the solution chosen. It is washington after all, anything that makes too much sense is never utilized.

The Corvette doesn't need to be smaller... Just lighter. (If it gets smaller, I wont be able to fit in one when I'm ready to buy) I can't wait for the small car hell that is about to be our reality. Nothing like being uncomfortable in everything you drive.

I ran out of razor blades, so this will have to do...

Sweetness! I've always wanted one of these or a plane. -
Must be nice, man. I can shave at 8 in the morning and have a shadow by 5. As much as I appreciate the ability to change my style; shaving sucks! LOL, I found gray hairs in my goatee recently. LOL... NOT cool!

Re: Performance cars Thank GOD someone at Holden "gets it" And, FWIW, PCS insisted that neither hybrid nor diesel Commodores would happen.

Okay, so what happened? 1) GM simply caved to the employees... After all, they are basically a big charity for everyone else, so why not? 2) GM is sand bagging until they have a RWD replacement. Wishful thinking, I know, but doesn't Alpha come on line about 2012? 3) GM cancelled the Zeta Impala and has no backup plan. Not likely given what we know. 4) GM believes that people will abandon full size cars. A stupid mindset given that the company which provides an economical full size will end up owning the market. No reason to 'just quit'. I guess they will start making the Malibu the flagship Chevy sedan now... Or maybe the Ep II Impala simply wont be called Impala now, yet will still be produced and overlap with this increasingly fleet only model. I actually wouldn't mind seeing the Ep II car called something else. Then we could revive the Impala name with a worthy RWD replacement on down the road. (Wishful thinking, I know)

No, 'cylinder cut' CKs Used to have a pair of Gargoyles that looked like Wayfarers, but those decided to walk off one day.

A friend of ours organized a car show for a local high school. Apparently, someone had a video camera and put a couple of video compilations on YouTube. It was probably someone from the Mustang club. The show was small, but it was a success financially and actually had a good turn out given the size of the school and the fact that it was an inaugural event. The only bad thing was that we all got sun poisoning. The '68 can be seen at 3:06 of part 1 and the '73 can be seen at 3:31 of part 1. Not a bad showing for their first time out of the garage in a couple of years. Around 1:16 of part 1 is our friends (The one who organized the show) very sweet '79 Trans Am. Part 2 is just a bit more of some of the cars and awards. For those of you who are really keen, you'll be able to pick me out in the background of the awards shots. PART 1: PART 2:

I didn't, just saw the option. I'm willing to bet that they're the 10 spoke units that have been available through GM Accessories for a while now

Camaros, turbos, mpgs and the underappreciated V8
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Intrepidation's topic in Chevrolet
LMFAO... The way that was going, I'm surprised to see that this ignorant person actually has a set of balls, if you get my drift. I agree... It's going to eventually boil down to preference. And if Detroit was forward thinking like they used to be, they'd capitalize on amercans' desire for BIG, V8 cars and the "freedom" they entail by developing their already class leading V8s into efficient, yet powerful beasts that no one could match. They could aid this by INFORMING the consumer that V8s aren't "the devil" and in fact say "Hey, why give up your freedom of choice. WE have the solution." But alas, since Detroit now seems to be berept of any leadership or balls, I would expect the Koreans to come up with something like this. And even if Detroit was smart enough to pull it off technologically, they still have no clue how to inform the ignorant consumer of the virtues of freedom. I hope the V8 sticks around... If not, it looks like I'll be buying used. -
Interesting that they list the Z06 as an option on the Corvette as opposed to a seperate model (ZR1 is a seperate model) Rumors are swirling that the Z06 is history pretty soon anyway. I hope that isn't the case as I would take a Z06 over the ZR1 any day of the week. Or, is GM preparing us for something with the C7, like maybe a split line up. Same thing with Vibe GT... 18s on Impala SS... NICE! G8 is considered midsize? It seems really big to be classified that. So it and G6 could be competing for a future? Or Alpha could be expanded to replace Zeta? The Aura looks like sh*t without the door molding. I thought the N* was always standard on the Lucerne Super. YAY! The 9-5 gets better window switches! (Yawn... You european boys sure know how to make things exciting!) *Looks like this guide is about as schizo as GM is in general.

For you Cadillac fans, a little sharing of the wealth
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in Cadillac
Umm.... Zeta II? I thought Zeta was dead? And no V8? That'll be a joke. And don't give me any of the V6s are powerful enough or no one will buy a V8 bull$h! either. Hide and watch. At this price point, V8s will still sell and MB and BMW will still be leaving Cadillac in the dust. -
I think that has a lot to do with our society. In the 60s, one didn't have to work in the city for a good paying job whereas now, we do. And since no one in their right mind wants to live in the ass crack of existence that is the city (I'm not talking about suburbs) it takes a lot of driving. I'd rather spend $100 in fuel to drive to and from my job than be miserable all of the time living 15 people per square inch.

Why? What does freedom have to do with oil? Why must we accept less freedom instead of developing alternative fuels? The answer is not to 'give up.'

Looking forward to Dark Knight and Indiana Jones. Saw Iron Man a couple of weeks ago and wasn't that impressed. Casting is great but the story is weak, just like all Marvel movies seem to be now. It follows the comic well IMO, but they try to cover too much ground IMO (Much like Spiderman 3 and X Men # did)

For Sale: 200 slightly-used HSV LS3 Drivetrains
FUTURE_OF_GM replied to Jamie's topic in Heritage Marques
Would you finance 3 or 4? I'll stick a couple in the camaros and save one or two in case things get as bad for the V8 as I think they might. Or maybe I'll need a 5th to do that Starlet conversion I've been talking about for so many years -
True that... When I retired the '73 to show car status I almost went manic. Nothing matches the feel, attention and experience of a classic.

Awesome! I change facial hair styles a lot... My goatee was down to my stomach until this February... Then I just up and shaved it all off because it got boring. *shrugs* Right now I'm rocking the shorter goatee with Sweeney Todd inspired side burns. I'm thinking about doing the "friendly mutton chops" next.

Gas doesn't bother me... Although I do fear for the V8 if prices keep going up. Yet another reason to hate life.
