  1. I once joked to one of my aviation buddies about the Polish building a diesel powered fighter aircraft that was dog slow...only to be informed the Polish did just that at one point. Self deflating toys, Self washing ships, pilots that always have a fresh haircut. What is not to love about any of this.
  2. Olds, without meaning to be negative also I think people need to think about how they see Greece. LOTS of anti Greek sentiment about. One of my friends recently referred to Greece as a 'white version of Haiti." Greek shaming is a very real issue, and I don't think being concerned about that is irrational. That being said, my ancestors part of them (biologically) came from Poland. I love jokes about Polish people. Let the humor begin!
  3. I am going to enjoy this...watching stupid people do stupid things means we have the right to laugh at them. Rest of the world will pass us by methinks. Tesla is starting to go in the tank and will not recover IMHO. https://www.wsj.com/articles/facing-u-s-tariffs-china-plans-countermeasures-1521632332 Just like trade wars are coming back to haunt us, this will come back to haunt us. California and the rest of the world.
  4. Good luck indeed...although I do like the Styling direction of Infinity passenger cars better than I Like Lincoln's. Still...Cadillac, Audi, Benz and Lexus are so far ahead of infinity, Lincoln and Acura i don't think the last three will ever catch up as real luxury cars.
  5. Mini is still kind of sucking water, but the SUV they ahve is doing OK.
  6. Not bad, I am assuming they are dropping their fleet numbers a bit. I had an Altima as a rental not long ago and it was not terrible.
  7. I have thought seriously about one of these. Hard to beat it as a used car value.
  8. https://thisiswoodworking.com/blog/festool-truck-makeover/ Neat old truck used to merchandise product inside my local woodworking store, Wood Werks. "the Festruk"
  9. Car lineup still sucking wind, Focus being sold at I assume fire sale transaction prices to move dated product. Glad to see the F series doing well.
  10. Not fantastic, but keeping their head above water with modest gains.
  11. Interesting...Beetle Coupe back from the dead sales wise. Atlas selling big numbers and saving their butt.
  12. One of the mutual friends my son and I share had a Fiesta ST where he took a short term loan and also had a terrible driving record. Both the payment and the monthly insurance were over $385....he was paying almost a grand a month to drive a Fiesta. After the kid totaled the Fiesta, sadly, he bought a used Toyota Yaris and paid cash. Life is much better for him financially now. Actually for short term use, $385 is not that bad.
  13. ...yeah...and again not a Ford guy but I am sitting here in Columbus lusting after the Mercury Marauder. Even a guy like me has to admit a few of the vehicles of that era from Ford have some real charm and appeal. For the Seventies, the pre 1977 down sized Thunderbird would just be the cats a$$. Those cars just had a long hood/shorter deck disco era look to die for. I have thought of buying one for my 17 year old daughter learning to drive. Safe, reliable, inexpensive, not bad looking. Seen several on the market here locally for relatively short cash.
  14. Seems rational actually. Should save them some money. Were I to be wealthy, I would love to use a service like this.
  15. European cars have a certain charm, but I plan on owning only a few. A high maintenance vehicle is like a high maintenance woman...best done sparingly, with specific goals in mine. In other words if it flies, floats or F@#$& you are better off renting it. The same thing can be said of European automobiles.
  16. People aboard the International space station also discuss them...what is your point? In all reality the Lincoln probably is bolted together to stay together longer than a lot of European and Asian cars. Still something about Ford reliability I don't like, but were I to own a luxury car out of warranty...it would probably be Lincoln or Cadillac. They did it with 1950's/1960's era technology, and 50 plus years later a bunch of those cars are still on the road with doors that work fine. I remember finding suicide door Lincolns in Junkyards in the 1980's that had been in horrific accidents...doors still operated perfectly.
  17. Considering they have to be rated PG, pretty much no.
  18. They will go the way of the Dodo bird...into the ashes of history.
