Dodge News: Rumorpile: New Dodge Challenger and Charger Not Due Till 2021, 300 Bumped Off
I could live with that. Would add a big full size Chrysler product from the very early 1970's or 1960's for a tri-fecta of sorts. http://hooniverse.com/2013/09/13/hooniverse-obscure-muscle-car-garage-the-1965-chrysler-300-l/ Something a little bit obscure to really set all three off.... I have had a couple of chances to buy a 65 300L, sorry I passed on them.

Dodge News: Rumorpile: New Dodge Challenger and Charger Not Due Till 2021, 300 Bumped Off
Ohhh hell yes! I love the 90's Impala SS but this thing Trumps that to no end...! It is just kind of a shame that values/prices have gone up to the point they have, they are not a common car and are getting a bit pricey in the collector market. Still, higher transaction prices would mean more of the cars end up in the hands of responsible owners, which I am all for.

Tesla / Solarcity merger, Brilliant or Disaster?
I see both as being cash flow challenged and agree with Bob Lutz that Tesla will need to make major changes to even survive.

Dream Car Garage: Veterans Day Edition, Part 3
http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=262656 Not optimistic the Condor will be flying any time soon. If anyone is in Ohio, go to the air Force Museum in Dayton, very much worth a look. http://www.prop-liners.com/survivors.htm Another worthwhile Aviation link, list of surviving prop liners.

Dream Car Garage: Veterans Day Edition, Part 3
Another list for commercial passenger air craft. #1. Airbus A350-I think it is neat that there is competition in the commercial Jetliner amrket, and Airbus is really bringing it with this one. Tied for #1-Boeing 777-Even people who hate the USA buy this for their airlines, it is a dominant airliner in its class and very, very safe. #2. DeHavilland Comet - Would have given the Brits an early advantage in Jets had it not had pressurization issues that doomed its reputation. #3. Tri Tailed constellation, just because if ind them beautiful.

Dream Car Garage: Veterans Day Edition, Part 3
#1. B 26 Martin Marauder, factory hot rod to end all factory hot rods of WW II planes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caproni_Ca.60 #2. Caproni CA 60, just because it is so bizarre. Would love to actually re create the damned thing and make it fly, just because.... #3. A26. Especially this one, it is owned by my old College friend Tim Savage. He wasn't wearing his fire suit and had his son on board when this happened, plane is being repaired/Rebuilt.... #4. P-51 Mustang, the other Mustang I love #5. P47 Thunderbolt.

What have we done? 2016 Malibu 1LT 1.5t
One advantage Ford has I think in killing Mercury I understand why Buick was saved, but having more car lines to dump developmental $ into is not necessarily doing GM any favors at the moment.

Dodge News: Rumorpile: New Dodge Challenger and Charger Not Due Till 2021, 300 Bumped Off
The problem is that we have had twenty years of change and most of it not good. The last in house (without a partner) cars of Merit were the first gen neon, Intrepid/Concorde/ et al. My middle daughter was in diapers when those cars were new...now she is a senior in College. Chryco has effectively been starved for mainstream competitive product for a generation.

A review of the 2017 Continental, chosen just because they have what appear to be decent images of the car
Exactly, VW is doing it, Toyota is in the process of putting almost everything on a common platform. If anything, Lincoln/ford should be commended for using their resources wisely and not having a million different irrelevant platforms and choices. I mean, look at BMW and the endless stream of similar and seemingly indistinguishable models there... And no, the Conti does not need to be on a RWD platform of its own. Plenty of people will buy it in markets where FWD will benefit in winter/inclement driving.

Given that they are making a high level of conquest sales with reasonably positive reviews I am not sure the buying public putting money to metal would agree with you. We talked about Lincoln's image earlier in the thread. Benz sells the most Luxury vehicles in the US, followed by Lexus and then usually BMW and Audi. Cadillac, Infinity and Acura are the next three in line with Lincoln last. I would be willing to bet money Lincoln continues to gain traction in the market with the product that it is producing.

I love the second gen MR 2.

It would be really interesting to see a list of where the Conti buyers are conquered from. Would not be surprised to see quite a few moving up from Impalas, Fusions and Accords also. It's a lot more content for the additional fifteen grand over a well equipped Accord. Hell, there are Subaru Legacy's going well into the thirties. If a buyer can pony up a few extra grand.... I do not consider Buick to really be a Luxury brand. If Mercury or Plymouth were still around they would not be either.

Dream Car garage, WTF edition
Had a classic Beetle growing up, loved it. Had a Scion XB first gen I bought brand new, was near flawless until it was totalled as a ten year old car. And even then it saved my sons life, as it was pushed off of a highway overpass and into a ravine by an errant Hyundai. 986 Boxer came very, very close to pulling the trigger on. Car in question had a Tan interior otherwise I might be driving it today. My last three choices. 1974 Dodge Charger, last of the two door V8 Chargers and always liked these. R 50 first gen Cooper, non supercharged. Set it up as an auto cross car...they used to dominate H stock. 1977 Olds Cutlass...last of the really good two door Oldsmobile mid sizers.

So let's keep the conversation going. This is also priced very well for a Flagship...and as I was starting to say in another thread before I deleted it...it should be able to slot in to the niche left by the Chrysler 300, which is getting long in the tooth. What does everyone think about how Ford/Lincoln is placing this in the Market?

Dodge News: Rumorpile: New Dodge Challenger and Charger Not Due Till 2021, 300 Bumped Off
As far as the Panthers go, I still want a Mercury Marauder like I want Oxygen and access to the fair sex. Kind of hard to argue against all of the unloved miles these did as Police cars and Taxi cars also. Call me stupid but I have a soft spot in my heart for these. I still cringe a bit inside whenever they inevitably get blown up in movies and TV shows also. Was not always the case, but as I get older and I look back...Ford did one heck of a job with these.

...and both the Ford and GM products are very well done with excellent reviews. Not sure why it won't let me reply without putting a line through the text.
