Your Dream Garage- 5.0-5.9 Edition
A Horse With No Name replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Something along the lines of the above, but set up with a 352 V-* and 4 speed as a weekend cruiser. So 5 Fords, the 1965-67 Convertible, the 68 Cali Special, 57 Thunderbird, Edsel ragtop, and the 63 1/2 Ford 2 door hardtop. A nice all Ford collection for this one. And my apologies for the old stuff here, I have had 1950's and 1960's cars on the brain lately. -

Not a great picture, but a mid sixties Ford ragtop with a 352.....this one is a 67, which was a fantastic year for Ford styling. You knew the 68 Cali special Mustang was coming, right......? -

I am going to steal the 300 ZX TT Idea, simply for the same reason I posted a Mustang II with a 2.3 in the other thread-I have had way to much fun with the car of my sons friend Jeffery Yes, the photo is stolen from Olds, but you all know of my love of air cooled Porches...this one was pretty much coming no matter what. So very odd, a car from 1936, a car from 1940, one from 1942, one from 1986, and one from 1990. -

And BRZ premium for a daily. Although it would be tough to pass on the Type R golf, actually for a daily. That would be a tough one. -

Horrible pic, I will find something better.... Better on the Alfa.... Porsche 914-6 Once again, properly set up to drive in anger. Just because I can and because I think it would be fun, Mustang II Cobra. Purely for sentimental reasons because my old friend Allen and i from high school had so much fun in his. -

Agreed. Plus you can drive a Fiesta ST at its limit a whole lot easier than you can a C7 Z06. -
Road & Track Performance Car of the Year

I find them quite the opposite. That being said, were I to spend that much on a new car methinks I would own a Shelby 350 R Mustang. -
Ultimate Dream Garage: Predecessor Edition
A Horse With No Name replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
I found several cheaper but I had to spend a good bit of time looking. there are bargains out there in this group of cars. One of the cars was a 60,000 miles southern automatic GT for like six grand..... Sadly, performance cars of any type seem to have gone up in price. -
...and he does as I said admit his bias. Nothing wrong with that. People buy cars for different reasons though. Were I just to want a fun weekend car, the cost of maintenance and ownership is multiple orders of magnitude on a stock base Stingray than a 911 turbo. More concerned that people find cars that are a good match for them. Agree on the Impala being one hell of a ride.

...and I hope that you are round here a long damned time to rub our rhubarb....although the Conti does come with massaging seats so if I wanted to get good and comfortable.... ...keep being passionate bro.....regardless of what I or anyone else here tells you. My point is that merely Lincoln still has more work to do in terms of a luxury car image. That in my mind is not a negative. I still have serious work to do at being a better husband and I have been happily married for 28 years. Now if putting my laundry away and mowing the yard when I finally get home at 7 tonight after picking my 15 year old daughter up from play practice was as fun as arguing about cars on the internet....I might have a much easier time. But yes, if I were concerned with perception and wanting to clearly own a Luxury brand...I would have concerns in buying a Lincoln.

Ultimate Dream Garage: Predecessor Edition
A Horse With No Name replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
They are the last "modern and futuristic" Mustang built. When you consider that the Mustang was a futuristic car in a way when it was introduced in 1964, to me this car is an important part of the Mustang design heritage. The sloppy handling is part of the fun, one of my friends was the long term owner of a Mach 1 red manual car that we would beat on like a rented mule at local auto crosses. Never the fastest time of the day car, but Jesus sweet mother of Mary what a sweet car. And the auditory sounds of the OHC Ford V8 are near Ferrari 458 levels of wonderful.
