The Intrepid Project
Even though your not gonna autocross it...I think you will b e a much happier boy when the rears are done...that being said, I need to do this to the wife's crap box... I was meaning more in an emergency situation. I agree with you...although these cars still handle really well with worn out suspension. My Concorde drove great at 200K...

Ohio get together...?
Any one up for it? The only regular posters here that I know of from Ohio are Hyper and 67 IMP, but Moltar/Cubitar/Cubical is from here and visits, Z06 goes to Michigan often, and Olds often comes to Columbus. Would be willing to go anywhere in state to meet some fellow C and G guys....anyone up for it?

Could we have some love for American and European cars, please...?
The other day at lunch, went out, sitting by myself...next table, Toyota tech and a Honda tech were eating lunch, from nearby dealerships. both of them spent the whole time pretty much talking about how crappy American and European cars are, and how much better simply EVERYTHING from Asia is. I am to the point where I think just the reverse, that while Asia builds some fine cars...esp Mazda and Hyundai....I am really liking American cars again and really actually want to buy a European car., So could I just have any love that anyone will offer up for American or European iron...please...just a little...?

Dealership etiquette....
How does one walk into a dealership and say one is just looking? Usually when I tell salesman that, they either hover over my shoulder constantly or completely ignore me when I do have a question. And also...anyone have any car buying advice as to how to make things go smoothly at a dearership?

The Intrepid Project
Glad to see this thing still kicking around...I have decided that I would like something with more power and more of a "touring car" than the Miata, so I am thinking about buying another car next year. Volvo C30, Camaro, VW GTI, something along those lines. The Dodge looks GOOD...sweet car....

Putting our money where our mouth is part 2
I am thinking the same thing...thinking or trading in my 2002 Mazda Miata, I am 6-11 and fit well, but would like a little larger car....and I am thinking v6 Camaro actually.... Do you really need to ask that here?!?! I'd like to consider the new Buick Verano for the wife, though I know she wants a new Buick LaCrosse. With the amount of miles on the G6 (55k), and 2 1/2 years left on the loan, it's likely the G6 will not be replaced anytime soon unless a dealer was desperate to sell a new Buick However, a new Buick is on the wife's future wish list. My plan is to pay-off the Envoy loan (GM CPO, still have 4 years left) and then finally get the regular cab, full-size pickup I've always wanted (GMC Sierra). While I've always wanted a 1500 series, the new-for-2011 HD's are just beauty's to my eyes. A regular cab, long bed SLE 2500 HD 4x4 would be a really nice rig for me. However, if the Envoy doesn't stick around, a Crew Cab Sierra would be nice too And if gas prices make any of these two dream vehicles out of unobtainium, then a GMC version of the new Colorado crew cab pickup or the SUV version would also be on the consideration list. I am glad someone else here likes regular cab, fullsize pickup trucks.... Sorry to hear about the illness....and I will be glad when you get rid of that godawful CRV. Wife and I checked out a Civic SI, and I can see why you don't like the CRV... Lucky you...I will want to replace either the Scion or the Miata next year, leaning towards replacing the Miata with something more substantial...

Has the 2012 Beetle shaken the "chick car" image?
I think it has lost some of the chic status...it's a neat car...but IMHO I think the GTI is a better car, better looking, and overall nicer. But i'd rock a Beetle...but then i drive a Miata.
