  1. So are you keeping the coabalt or trading it? Chris
  2. Actually what I like about this place is that we don't all agree. Where else on the net could you find a boat load of different Camaro's, a mid 70's Chevrolet wagon, a Prius, two 59 Buicks, a few Bezes, an Avanti, A few Cobalt SS's. Corvettes, A MINI or two, a Miata, a few cutty's, modern Buicks, W body Impala's, Soltices, BMW's, GMC trucks, a model A ford, a Buick Century, Cobalt, El Camino, Lincoln, CTS-V,68 Benneville ragtop, etc. It would be boring if we all drove the same C-4 Corvette or something. Crhis
  3. Like I said in another post, long drive, rock and roll (or whatever you wish to listen to) heart attack on a plate for a meal will do wonders. Sometimes you just need to clear your head. Chris
  4. Hey balthazar, we cana gree on 60's Pontiacs! I know lots of people who are into Miata's and only a few who are into 60's Pontiacs. As such I enjoy reading what you write. As I said in another post...diversity makes the (automotive) world go round. Chris
  5. On a similar note, I've always wondered what an Olds Kappa would have looked like... I guess a Shelby Series 1 with the Aurora powerplant will be as close as we'll ever get to that... Chris
  6. Actually, what would a 67-68 Camaro convertible look like with a Corvair convertible windshiled and done up as a speedster? Think GM had a show car that was similar. Chris
  7. FOG-how much did they want for the Camino? Chris
  8. Bubletop+wagon=Camino I like it, but I think it would be difficult to pull off and make it look right. But I like it. Chris
  9. Key West
  10. One of our local SCCA members, Brian, who runs Aujtobody Specialists in Grandview built a nearly identical truck to this. It is blue with a big block IIRC. Chris
  11. Not sure why you would need a buble top, unless you wanted a shortened buble top for an E/C. I'll check my Ohio Junkyards again, seems like I remember seeing a B/O/P bubletop of some flavor here, and I know I've seen several old wagons. Chris
  12. About what I was thinking. Thanks for the pic! Chris
  13. It is a wonderful car. IIRC it set speed records at Bonneville. Not sure if it was an SS, but I think it was. Seems like I remember reading about female undergrad students building it and some established driver racing it. With the 300 HP upgrade, having 130 HP on a Cooper S would be nothing to sneeze at. I could have a LOT of fun with that car. Chris
  14. Rob, your right, I love that Impala. Chris
  15. Start with a rustbucket delivery and a plain jane car. Chris And Rob, if you come up with a pic, I would like to see it...55-56 Pontiac delivery.
  16. I think I've made a resolution to never buy a "normal" car again. Driving different stuff is just too much fun. Chris
  17. 64-65 Chevelle two door wagon into a delivery? Chris
  18. In the phantom thread I brought up the idea of a Buick Skylark sedan delivery. Like where your going here, Y-J. Chris
  19. What about a 61 or 62 Buick as a 60's style custom with metalflake paint and narrow whitewalls and white tuck and roll interior? Just a thought, I've seen them done that way and love them. You mmay say not unique enough, but add some nice custom touches. Chris
  20. I actually like what your thinking- Much more simple than the holden thing, Unique, non Chevy. I almost think building a 55 Pontiac/55 Chevy sedan delivery. IIRC 53 was the last year for a Pontiac sedan delivery, but I could be wrong. 55 is my fav. 50's year for BOTH Pontiac and Chevy (sorry balthazar, different strokes for different folks.) I remember almost buying a 55 Chevy sedan delivery when I bought my 55 Chev 2 door post. Satty would have liked the delivery as it was owned by an adult bookstore owner and producer of porn at one point in its life. But a phantom 55 Pontiac sedan delivery would be fairly simple, I think. Challenging enough to make it a project, but simple enough you would get it done in this lifetime. Just remember, project camino could become a tow vehicle to someone in Ohio who might want to tow a race car. A freind of mine just bought a fiat SCCA prod. car, and my friend is looking at that maroon 52,000 mile 97 Chev 4x4 at Buckeye Honda I posted about a few weeks ago. Methinks at some point project Camino would be a good vehicle for towing around a Fiat or a spec Miata or a lotus (if I win the lotery on the lotus) or something. But think 55 Pontiac sedan delivery. Think Project Camino=tow vehicle perhaps. And that Falcoln is kick ass. I have always ahd a weak spot for the 64 and 65 falcolns. Chris
  21. Don't get a good vibe from Hyundai in the trust department even before this. One would think after the Z cars rusting away in the 70's. Tacomas rusting away in the 80's. Civics and accords rusting away in the 90's, that they would see a need to fix this but... I think balthazar is right about asian steel. Chris
  22. MIAMI BEACH
  23. Hence the lean Towards a Cooper S on my part, although the 'balt SS has it's charms. Really would like it if the 'balt was a littel more unique in its styling. But the Ecotech turbo is wonderful...
