2010 Chevrolet Colorado
To beat a dead horse to death... The thing that would make me buy a colorado or a canyon would be a small diesel. Love the way the truck looks as a 4WD. Chris

If you won the lottery
Scratch the Astin Martin and put in a 58 Chevy Cameo truck and you've got the right idea for me. Satty is just yanking people's chains. I think if I had 300 million in my auto museeum I would have an apprenticeship program so the next geneation of people cold learn to preserve old cars. Find ten young guys who really wanted to learn and take ten years and make them master craftsmen. Chris

Car shoppin' time!
The G6 is a cool car, I just like the Malibu better. IIRC in several threads I believe I've said that I'd consider a G6 Hardtop Convertible as a family convertible, since we like convertibles. But methinks balthazar needs to think Challenger. Chris

If you won the lottery
Even with 300 million, I don't want to go ape$h!. Like I said, Goodwood, Bonneville, Road Atlanta, lots of events to watch. A MINI Cooper S, and a vintage truck. Let me autocross on Sunday, and I am good, even with 300 million. But I would open an auto museum to preserve our automotive heritage. The AMA has a national motorcycle museeum here in Columbus, Ohio. The air Force has a world class museum for airplanes in Dayton. I think a really kick ass world class display of our automotive hertage would be where I would spend my Dollars. With a kick ass endowment so it was self funding and very low cost to visit, or maybe even free to visit. Chris

Actually this is helping me. I've resolved to get back in touch with a girl from High School and never done it. Sounds like I need to. Chris

He's just flat out right on this balthazar. The Malibu just owns the ass of everything else on the market. It's enough to make ME buy a normal car. Chris

Okay, I have a Mustang handle and I'm on a GM forum...but let me corrupt you some more. I agree with DF. Challenger has a much better back seat. Plus what the auto rags won't tell you...it is a much better car out on the interstate tan the Camaro or Mustang, neither of which are bad...but the Challenger will be a better road car. Plus, the Challenger will be more real world wife friendly. You'll not enjoy the tight back seat of the Mustang after the novelty wears off, and one of the Camaro's few downsides is visibility. The Challenger just strikes me as more wife friendly. Chris

Car shoppin' time!
...all right, I'll shut up. But your F-150 called and said 2LT in Red with an Automatic for a Camaro. And your older son wants Slipknot, linken park, Green Day, Korn, and then Tool, in that order for your first father-son cruise. Just don't forget to open the sunroof in the Camaro when you get beyond the city lights. A star filled sky and a Camaro is pure majic. Chris

You and Camino have Ruined me. I'm starting to love the new Challenger. But I like B5 blue better than the dark blue. Chris

Car shoppin' time!
...and one more thought. Special Car+your kids=mind bending, mind altering good time, something you will remember forever. My son and I have driven back roads with the top down listening to rock and roll until the wee houurs of the ayem... stopped for a heart attack on a plate, and gone home happy. My 13 Y.O. Joanna loves to go out riding. We put the top down, she'll bring a book, and we'll just cruise on down a curvy Ohio back road, having fun. What better way to pass the love of cars to your boys? Knowing you, I'd have to say love of cars is one of the biggest parts of your life. Pass it on to your boys. They will remember that Camaro and the times they had with dad. Chris

...and your 40 called collect from Jersy to Ohio. He seconds the 56 ranch wagon and suggests driving a Mustang as well. Oh, and one more word. V6 Challenger. You could also go used and get a Charger. Very good road car, RWD, Camino hates them so you'd have something for him to needle you about. Rear seat headroom is not good, but the Charger is a very good road car. How big/how old are your boys? Chris

Exactly. Even if you keep her car... I just can't stand the thought of buying a normal car. And once she has a "fun car" she will love, she will think that way too. Seriously. Life is too short to drive boring cars. I commute 45 minutes each day to work with the top down. The difference in attiude a fun car can make is immeasureable. Besides, if your getting rid of a Ford and can't be talked into a Sienna (I'm going to jail for man slaughter if you buy a Sienna by the way) you need another Ford. Since the F-150 will get crushed, you will have space in your garage/shop for another car. 56 Ford Ranch wagon (didn't they build a two door wagon?) with a few modern touches. Your Buick will love you forever for a proper garage mate. Really it will. Chris

I was supposed to be...
So your free and single and don't have kids. Here is the hot tip. You are thinking of buying a pickup truck. I used to live in Georga. People down there love pick up trucks. The Colorado/Canyon will need some love. Make a road trip south... While your on the way, check out the blue ridge parkway. Good friends are rare. She sounds like one. Life is short, dammit. Enjoy her. Chris

Stars, Stripes and Spots
Let me Clarify, I know a 67 isn't "like that" completely. But I did see a two/three door 67 today. Didn't see it for long, but it did have a 67 se and it wasn't a 4 door 'burban. Sorry I wasn't clear in my post! Chris

I was supposed to be...
It was fine. If you don't want to re-open that stage of your life, so what? Does she know your not into her...or any other "her" for that matter? Besides, my friend Judy dated a guy from 7th grade through high school. At graduation, he told her that he was gay. She has never gotten married, he has never settled down with a guy. They are made in a way for each other, still good friends...but now both over 50 years old. Just my two cents. Set up a lunch sometime maybe. Chris

Here is another thought...why buy another n "normal" car ever again? You could keep her current car running 4 ever, or until the boys are out of the house. Buy a car you really want...Solstice, Sky, Mustang Convertible, Camaro, etc. We have 5 kids and no "normal car" Besides, think of how much fun you can havewt your kids with a cool car. Being a parent with a roadster is fun, as the kids know they are getting just mom or just dad when they go in the Miata. A Solstice could work the same way. For times you all have to go somehwere, get an extra cab beater truck that runs well. Maybe not a total beater, but a 2001 Ford/Chevy Dodge 2WD could be had cheap. perhaps. But yeah...I'd open it up to Camaro/Mustang/Solstice/Sky. But that's just me. And my wife tolerates my automotive passions well. And with your minivan comment we can assume a Sienna is off the shopping list? Chris

2010 Chevrolet Colorado
You and me BOTH! My 71 Chevelle was a factory green car and I repainted it green. People thought I was nuts, but that was one of the best looking cars I have ever owned. My 66 Fastback was originally signalflare red, I painted it white. If I had kept it was going to paint it green. I just like Green cars. If I get an MCS I want British racing green. Chris

GM to Limit Buick Lacrosse Output to Strengthen Image
Jesus, sweet mother of Mary. After looking at these pics again, I could almost see myself owning a Buick. Did I just say that? Chris
