  1. Nice looking cleanup Job, DF. Maybe you need to self employ as both a graphic artist and a car detailer. Would be one way out of dealing with our recession...I mean depression...er...economic clusterf###. You and Sixty Eight could do some automotive photography on the side and make some $. Chris
  2. About the only way you can counter human stupidity. Chris
  3. I wish that GM would build something like the Original S-10 trucks. I owned two and they were both wonderful...100K ++ use out of both trucks....bought a muffler for one once...other than that just normal maint. Both were 4 Cyl 5 Speed trucks, and both ran 30+ (usually about 32) MPG in mixed driving. As a 4WD, they are an awesome truck for a little slippin and sliding in the dirty stuff...esp. with a 4.3. THAT is my idea of a small truck. Also liked the rampage and Rabbit truck...both were decent small trucks, esp. the Rampage. Chris
  4. Both my Concorde and my Safari van were bought used from Buckeye Honda. I don't like anything Honda builds right now, but I've been tempted to buy a new Honda as my next car just because they took such good care of us with those two vehicle purchases. Glad you've got a good GM dealership to go to Daryl, around here most GM dealers are about as worthless as a pair of tits on a Tacoma. Chris
  5. You probably could have rammed the door into the POS Nissan Murano and the cops wouldn't have done anything. Around here if you called the cops for something like that, they would laugh their asses off at you. Chris
  6. ...that's the nice thing about people in pretty cars, DF. Usually they don't have the balls to put up or shut up. Now in the case of Dave87RS, sounds like that asshole sitting in the car would have unloaded some whop ass. Chris
  7. ...Best Styled Japanese cars. The Miata is a rip off of the Lotus Elan, the Original 240Z is a rip off of the Jag E type in some ways, the original Celica is a loose copy of the (original) Mustang, most of the japanese SUV's are a ripoff of a toilet paper bulk carton, the Sentra is a rip off of the Ion (and both look like utter dog crap)... Even some of the better Japanese cars of their era are lacking in comparison. Look at a mid 80's 944 nest to a mid 80's 300Zx. The Z car isn't nearly as well done... Chris
  8. A good dealer is worth their weight in gold. When I was a kid growing up we always bought from a small town Ford store that always took good care of us. We bought a few cars from a small town Chryco store too.. Now both of those stores are gone. Loosing a few stores in Central Ohio... Chris
  9. There is a great book called "the world without us" which talks about this in detail. Check out the Voluntary Human Extinction groups...google them....interesting concept. Don't agree with them, but... Chris
  10. The current Camaro's looks may have just permanantly deconverted me from Mustangdom. GM just got this car very, very right visually. Much more so than even the very good new Mustang and the new Challenger. Chris
  11. Cutting people's valve stems with a pair of electricians wire cutters is nice, simple, and clean. Quick too. I always figure If I'm caught on tape all I'll have to worry about is paying for a valve stem. I am a pretty big guy and people usually don't mess with me if I act pissed, so usually a verbal confrontation is all certain dimwitts need to be "educated" Chris
  12. Sounds like some POS people. Same thing happened to my dad's car, although it was old people in a late model Lexus. Stupidity knows no economic boundry. Chris
  13. That slate blue is great. GM seems to have some of the best colors in any era, be it the 50's, 60's, 70's, or now. 1960's...Verdero Green and Cortez Silver FTW 1950's, the Turqoise on the 57 Chevy is just THE color for that car, my 57 was that color (but I repainted it dark blue and white). Now-That slate is just as hot on the G8. Like I said elsewhere (I think in GM4life's thread) GM cars just look "right" in dark colors to me. And Satty...I feel the same way about fox body ragtops. Right now I am not in the position to buy one...but fun, cheap, and easy to modify sounds good to me. I also like your idea of the Wrangler. Only problem is that once you own a convertilbe and get addicted, your addicted. I seldom drive mine with the top up unless it's a thunderstorm or a blizzard. ...and yes, Dave...the Cruze looks very, very good. GM may have a bright future in spite of all of us here and our doubts. The Cruze is one HUGE step in the right direction. Chris
  14. An awesome day for an awesome car. Perhaps we should shoot for 350,000? Chris
  15. Not just yes but hell yes! Chris
  16. ...Oh...and I'm not bashing Mopar guys. The import guys are just as bad, and guys in the local VW TDI club bash domestics, and everyone feels this need to hate everyone and prove themselves better. Sometimes I think the internet bashing is just as bad...and I'm guilty of that myself. I still reserve the right to make fun of Kia and Hyundai, however. Chris
  17. Someone ran into my car at my wife's work and didn't leave a note. As far as the MOPAR thing, I've known a few of the MOPAR guys to be rabid. I've told this story here before, but a few years ago a guy I know, real nice guy, drove his 69 SS/396 Chevelle (NICE car) up to the Mopar nats just to watch the Mopars cruise down Bethel road, which is a part of the Mopar nats. Bunch of Mopar guys started throwing beer cans at the guys car and calling it a piece of $h! and threatening a fight. Guy I know is a carpenter and a pretty big guy, but he was outnumbered so he just left. Really pissed when someone took a baseball bat to a co workers 4 day old HHR about a year and a half ago. People don't treat much of anything with respect. Chris
  18. Utterly gorgeous...I just love 50's cars...wish I was in a stage of my life to own one. Chris
  19. Are you thinking 2.0 turbo, perchance? Chris
  20. I like all of the pacecar vettes, including the C4. The C6 pace car is great also... Chris

  22. I ran an errand downtown today and saw one in what I think is the color your getting, GM4life. Very nice. Chris
  23. Your right, this is going to suck for a lot of small town and family dealers. Chris
  24. Very cool, actually. If work was more steady I would own one, but the economy has me down at the moment. Chris
