You and your passion for cars
Post some pics if you will. I'm trying to sell my son Joel on the idea of a Camaro or Firebird project car instead of a 3rd gen RX7. I think the Bird or 'maro would be about eleventy billion times cheaper and more reliable and more fun. Chris

They crushed the 50's section at the one yard I go to once in awhile, sadly. Probably 750 cars gone out of 1000 that were once there. I've got pics of a 58 Pontiac for you though, If I can figure out how to post them. Chris

Thanks again for posting these 'blu. That 68 'bird is just the cat's ass...and the 65-66 GTO pics are great, my fav. GTO bodystyle. And I think I spy a Carosel Red GTO ragtop, if my monitor is showing the color right. That GTO ragtop...WOW. Chris

Respecting others' cars
Which is why a car like gm4life's Impala is a good purchase for the times. Keeping a low profile can be good. Chris

Hello...Camaro...Welcome Back!
As a fan of yellow cars I'd like to respectfully disagree with ZL-1. Listen to your wife, GM4life! Actually it looks better in the Orange colr they have. Chris

Actually I'd love a wagon of that era for a family weekend car. Saw a 60 Chevy wagon for sale awhile back... Chris

Starting a car that has been sitting for almost a year
Actually fresh gas is not a bad idea, as the lighter hydrocarbons will evaporate off and the car will not run as well until it gets fresh fuel. And I agree with DF, Dave, and WMJ. GM cars can suffer all kinds of abuse and just keep on running . List seems way overboard. Chris

Dodgefan-I think you've got some great places in Mass. and along the coast to explore with that thing once it gets its 3.5. You and Jessi will have a lot of fun with it. And I know how tough it is to wait to get anything back on the road. Seems to take forever. But like I said before...as a former Concorde owner...with the 3.5 you will be a very happpy guy. Glad you've found other LH owners you can hang with. I haven't found a lot of other GM guys around here, which is why I probably enjoy the VW and Miata clubs so much. Chris

So sorry D-Town
Good thing is even with the riots it's impossible for most of Detroit to look any worse. Chris

You and your passion for cars
So what is everyone else doing this month to enjoy your car hobby? For me-Buckeye Miata Club and the local Harley Owners Group (HOG)(who would ever think Harley's and Miatas together) are getting together tomorrow for the groundbreaking at the Flying Horse Farms, a Hole in the Wall Gang Camp like Victory Junction we've both worked to raise funds for. Last weekend we joined up for a Harley-Miata ride up there for a picnic. Every day I've drivin to work with the top down, 45 minutes + one way. Got caught in rain twice...took a clouburst before I put the top up. Went to a couple of Junkyards that have old cars, I have pics if I can figure out how to post them. Found another Junkyard that's been pretty much untouched since 1977 down off of blaine highway. Cars from the 40's and 50's, as well as the 60's there. Checking it out this week. This afternoon I played hookey from work and my 16 year old son and I rode around with the top down and listened to rock and roll for 3 hours with the top down. Nirvana, a ragtop and sunshine is an addictive combo. We then went to a classic car dealer (Arena Motor Sales) and checked out a couple of street rods. Liked a 39 Chevy buisiness coupe project car we saw. Tomorrow wife and I are going to ride up the Granville to see one of her friends. Granville is a beautiful historical town. Lots of nice curvy rural roads up there. Autocross Sunday. We've got a Get together with the VW TDI club next week, as well as another group of Miata clubs getting together for another southern Ohio tour. Plus, Grand Am and Vintage are coming to Mid Ohio. There is a large get together of Cobra owners, real and replica last weekend of the month. My 13 year old daughter and I are going to take a couple "father daughter" trips, as I will with my 8 year old also. So what are you all doing? Chris

Awesome NASA pics
I think we have an anti-science bias in this country. Space exploration puts a real shine on Science IMHO. It's biggest benifit isn't the products or the technology...it's that it gives us a different perspective on the world and how we view ourselves. Chris

Sunday, June 14th.
PA is a cool state. My daughter is working at a summer camp in Philly this summer. Philly I think is one of America's most under rated cities. To me, It's just wonderful. My family spent a really cool partial day at Gettysburg also, want to go back this summmer. I'll have to keep the Harrisburg thing in mind...thanks for giving me something else to look forward to in PA. Chris

Toyota Prius proves a gas guzzler in a race with the BMW 520d
My son's are both into techy and unusual cars. My oldest (16) is into rotary cars...we call him the "rotard" My youngest is being converted away from the Prius, slowly. I intend to fix that permanantly next year when I put a TDI in the driveway. My oldest daughter (19) wants a Chevy truck and is saving her money to buy one. My youngest daughter ( wants a Mustang convertible. My 13 year old daughter lusts after the Solstice. Did I ever say how much I love my daughters? Chris

No, they are not. Nor are hybrids and performance. Diesel cars have their limitations but they have performed brilliantly in Europe for decades. And actually my younger son is a huge fan of the Prius. So we may well have one in the family yet when he gets his first car. Chris
