  1. Assuming he's elected. Democrats are VERY good at clenching defeat from the jaws of victory... Chris
  2. With apologies to Satty and Paulino, who have a Prius in the house.... http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/vol...icle_2508.shtml
  3. We don't value work, esp. blue collar work in this country. Hence, we outsource it. I don't understand this thinking either. I'm 43, and IMHO my generation needs to hang their head in shame at what we've done with this nation we've been given. Chris
  4. This is just silly. Whoever gets elected has got 8 years just trying to undo the disaster of the last eight. Milk and Honey will have to wait 30 years...we've had 30 years shiping jobs overseas, the decline of the middle class,no real energy policy, etc. Obama is our best chance of succes but we have so much facing us right now no one man or group of men can bail us out. It is going to take a major change in our society for things to get better, and it ain't gonna happen over night. Chris
  5. Smart plan, I think.... Chris
  6. You seem like a pretty tough animal, I reckon you'll survive. The question is how bad will it be for either McCain or Obama over the next four years? With the number of dumbass rednecks in this country who would like to kill Obama because he is black and McCains health, neither of them have that good of a shot in one sense of lasting four more years. And while I like the down to earth Soccar mom nature of Palin and the Experience of Biden, I'm not sure either one is really equiped to run the nation. Chris
  7. I don't either. Where can I get actual hard information about this? Chris
  8. Quite a nice upgrade! I'll bet he's happy. Chris
  9. A friend of mine has the same truck, slightly lifted with some sweet aftermarket rims and a little added chrome. Nice truck! Chris
  10. That and look at how really happy people are with the new Chevy/GMC trucks. I work on construction sites and guys just LOVE these trucks. GM has got them really, really, right. Hell, I'm a Micro car and oldies kinda guy and even I'm in lust over them. Chris
  11. Kinda cool working on yhour own car, isn't it? This is another advantage to me in having a teenaged son, someone I love to do it with. I can guarantee that you and Sixty-Eight and Dave87RS, etc with young children will find out one thing-no matter how much you think you love them now, that love will grow one hundred fold by the time they turn 15- As will their ability to break your heart when they do something stupid. Chris
  12. I can say this, having started autocrossing I really like how RWD cars feel at the limit, and I don't like the understeer of FWD cars. I just wish there were more sub-30k RWD cars than Mustang, Miata, Camaro, S2000, Solstice, Sky. etc. But sliding around in a late model GTO has really made me like the whole RWD thing...plus if you live up North like we do they are lots O fun in the snow! Chris
  13. A whole lot of us have the same idea...wish I had the same ability that you and Oldsmoboi have to carry it out. Things are going to get very ugly in this country, and they are going to stay very ugly for awhile. Chris
  14. ...and something else we agree on. Also, while we disagree about politics, I do see you as very concerned about the future of our nation, and I'm glad you are as passionate about that as you are GM. Now, let's see if we can keep GM going! Chris
  15. Maybe they will ahve the good sense to burn the car in sacrafice while it is on the alter. Chris
  16. Oh, and quit it with the F body's in the emoticons, I'm trying (without success) to fend oiff the idea of building a 3rd or 4th gen F body car... Joel and I are going to go look at a couple of project candidates. Chris
  17. getting back to the positive...how is your wagon doing, Satty? Chris
  18. The revised (current) MINI is even better, as the center stack in the car is narrower and there is more knee room. Although the speedo is now larger than the rims on a drug dealers Escalade.... Chris
  19. I'm still thinking a new MINI may well be my next car, if it isn't a GTI, TDI Jetta or Cobalt SS. But yes, drive a good classic mini. Chris
  20. Which is why you don't want to move back to Ohio, ultimately. I like it here for some reasons, but if my wife didn't have a good state job and we didn't live in a cheap house in a really decent subdivision...I would move on. Sadly, I may be the only one on the forum whose vote counts in November, cause it all may come down to Ohio. After having campainged and gone door to door, all I can say is....if our future is decided by your average "Undecided" Ohio voter, we are all in trouble. My favourite was the lady who told me we didn't need a president, we just needed to make Jesus King of the USA and we would be fine. Followed by the sweet older lady who was voting for Obama because she thought he had a nice ass. Followed by the lady who said that she would rather give wall street a trillion dollars than allow one abortion to happen in this country. Followed by the guy who said that Obama wanted to destroy the christian religion, and belief in god altogether. Followed by the guy who said he would vote for OBAMA IF HE WAS WHITE. Followed by the guy who wanted to start a write in campaign for Hillary. Ohio is NUTS. Canada is looking better. Ok, wait, CARBIZ has told me what Canada is like. Switzerland is looking better. Sorry for the rant, but we have become anation of the dumbasses for the dumbasses, and bym the dumbasses. Chris
  21. I am going to go see it. Chris
  22. I got to ride along in that thing when I wasn't running...it is ungodly fast. Power of a Firebird or a Vette in a car that weighs not a lot more than a Honda Goldwing...hmmm...
  23. It didn't offend me either...I know all of you guys really care about what happens to our country. I was just amused that someone else "got in trouble" for a change. Chris
