  1. I can say this, having started autocrossing I really like how RWD cars feel at the limit, and I don't like the understeer of FWD cars. I just wish there were more sub-30k RWD cars than Mustang, Miata, Camaro, S2000, Solstice, Sky. etc. But sliding around in a late model GTO has really made me like the whole RWD thing...plus if you live up North like we do they are lots O fun in the snow! Chris
  2. A whole lot of us have the same idea...wish I had the same ability that you and Oldsmoboi have to carry it out. Things are going to get very ugly in this country, and they are going to stay very ugly for awhile. Chris
  3. ...and something else we agree on. Also, while we disagree about politics, I do see you as very concerned about the future of our nation, and I'm glad you are as passionate about that as you are GM. Now, let's see if we can keep GM going! Chris
  4. Maybe they will ahve the good sense to burn the car in sacrafice while it is on the alter. Chris
  5. Oh, and quit it with the F body's in the emoticons, I'm trying (without success) to fend oiff the idea of building a 3rd or 4th gen F body car... Joel and I are going to go look at a couple of project candidates. Chris
  6. getting back to the positive...how is your wagon doing, Satty? Chris
  7. The revised (current) MINI is even better, as the center stack in the car is narrower and there is more knee room. Although the speedo is now larger than the rims on a drug dealers Escalade.... Chris
  8. I'm still thinking a new MINI may well be my next car, if it isn't a GTI, TDI Jetta or Cobalt SS. But yes, drive a good classic mini. Chris
  9. Which is why you don't want to move back to Ohio, ultimately. I like it here for some reasons, but if my wife didn't have a good state job and we didn't live in a cheap house in a really decent subdivision...I would move on. Sadly, I may be the only one on the forum whose vote counts in November, cause it all may come down to Ohio. After having campainged and gone door to door, all I can say is....if our future is decided by your average "Undecided" Ohio voter, we are all in trouble. My favourite was the lady who told me we didn't need a president, we just needed to make Jesus King of the USA and we would be fine. Followed by the sweet older lady who was voting for Obama because she thought he had a nice ass. Followed by the lady who said that she would rather give wall street a trillion dollars than allow one abortion to happen in this country. Followed by the guy who said that Obama wanted to destroy the christian religion, and belief in god altogether. Followed by the guy who said he would vote for OBAMA IF HE WAS WHITE. Followed by the guy who wanted to start a write in campaign for Hillary. Ohio is NUTS. Canada is looking better. Ok, wait, CARBIZ has told me what Canada is like. Switzerland is looking better. Sorry for the rant, but we have become anation of the dumbasses for the dumbasses, and bym the dumbasses. Chris
  10. I am going to go see it. Chris
  11. I got to ride along in that thing when I wasn't running...it is ungodly fast. Power of a Firebird or a Vette in a car that weighs not a lot more than a Honda Goldwing...hmmm...
  12. It didn't offend me either...I know all of you guys really care about what happens to our country. I was just amused that someone else "got in trouble" for a change. Chris
  13. Here are a set of cool pics from our last autocross. Audi is the car I was talking about in the other threads... Last picture of the Catherham-boy standing next to the car is my son Joel, I am standing behind the car and Scott, the cars owner is standing on the drivers side. The kid in the passenger seat of the Mustang is also Joel...we have renamed him Pooch the ride mooch! ...and everytime I see that Milano go through the corners, I think of Paulino (Italian member of C and G, Italian car, go figure) But check out the link if you want, my friend Eric took the pics. Chris http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=302397
  14. But you didn't post the idiotic post that got it closed. Chris
  15. Yes, they would. However, it is still a MUCH better car than say the corolla, which is still selling. Chris
  16. Driving home from work today, I was passed by a late model Camry..painted medium metallic Subaru blue, with a big assed wing, STI stickers, a fart can exhaust, SUBARU decals on the windshield and sides, and a body kit. ...and yes it was a Camry, not the current WRX Amazing. One can only hope this was a movie stunt car for stand in duty for someone smart enough not to destroy a real WRX. Chris
  17. On the other hand, it is really cool that cars like the Z06 C6 are ungodly fast and pollute about a hundredth of what their brethren from the sixties did. Without pollution laws we might not have modern engene management systems, modern Fuel Injection, etc. I like both old and new cars, thank you very much. Cars and the environment can co exist, contrary to people on both the left and right saying they can't. Chris
  18. The Astra is a great car, we can just write off its lack of sales to Americans being dumbasses. Chris, (current resident of dumf@#kistan.)
  19. We may disagree about the next president, but we agree on Toyota... Chris
  20. Does anybody still want an H2? Seems like yesterday that was the vehicle to own... Chris
  21. I think it was an S5 that shoed up at our last autocross...it had a V8. Amazing car... Chris
  22. I would say yes to a beater, but get a better beater. I picked up a 3k, amazingly clean Chrysler Concorde about 6 or 7 years ago, drove it for 3 years-80k, and then sold it for $350. A $3000 car that is clean and trouble free is better than a $500 or $1000 junker anyday. Actually, I am in the market for a beater myself as I am thinking about trying SCCA Rallycross, as well as some TSD ralllying. I want a car that I can BEAT on and still take me through an Ohio winter. Chris
  23. The Cierra was a good car, my father owned one...ran well...but his was a V6. Chrs
