  1. The Astra is a great car, we can just write off its lack of sales to Americans being dumbasses. Chris, (current resident of dumf@#kistan.)
  2. We may disagree about the next president, but we agree on Toyota... Chris
  3. Does anybody still want an H2? Seems like yesterday that was the vehicle to own... Chris
  4. I think it was an S5 that shoed up at our last autocross...it had a V8. Amazing car... Chris
  5. I would say yes to a beater, but get a better beater. I picked up a 3k, amazingly clean Chrysler Concorde about 6 or 7 years ago, drove it for 3 years-80k, and then sold it for $350. A $3000 car that is clean and trouble free is better than a $500 or $1000 junker anyday. Actually, I am in the market for a beater myself as I am thinking about trying SCCA Rallycross, as well as some TSD ralllying. I want a car that I can BEAT on and still take me through an Ohio winter. Chris
  6. The Cierra was a good car, my father owned one...ran well...but his was a V6. Chrs
  7. You may be right, but for whoever gets in office it will be a very long four years. I don't envy either of them. The economy isn't going to get better for at least 5-8 years IMHO, and it may get MUCH worse. We are already loosing a lot of contracts at work because none of our clients can get financed for any form of commercial construction, not even the hospital that 3 of my 5 children were born at. When Ohio Health, INC. can't get a loan for capital improvements, we are in trouble. There is no quick fix for any of this. Chris
  8. Since this is an automotive forum...yeah...he is trying to get you to buy a "used car"...a Maverick....72 model....and a lemon. Chris
  9. Rabbit is a nice product but a bit pricy for a small car with a little lower fuel economy. The 2.5 is smooth and torqueish to drive, though. Hoping the diesel comes here in the next gen Rabbit. Chris
  10. Glad he had a good two months...that's great to hear! Chris
  11. I thought the Astra thing was off for you? But seriously, I like the refresh/redesign. Again, I think GM is getting on the right track here, folks. Chris
  12. They are awsome cars, there is a blck one in my neighborhood also. Chris
  13. Almost no car is, actually, not even a Nissan GTR. However, it is a damned nice car for 14k. I know you put off the Astra thing reg, but what are you really thinking right now in terms of another car? Just gonna drive the Azz-tech or what? Chris
  14. I know a couple of guys with a real knowledge of VW's, if you need tech help let me know. How is the Jetta doing otherwise? It is an automatic, yes? Chris
  15. Keep us posted with pics, I love that car and am enjoying hearing about it. Chris
  16. Just wait until your boy is older and loves cars! We had a 400 HP Lotus Caterham 7 also show up at our last Autocross and my son Joel and I were both able to snag rides when we were not racing. That thing is Insane! But seriously, my younger son is into scouting and we are going on two camping trips with the scouts this month, and we may do a road rally (TSD) or another Autocross with my older son. Being the dad to a boy is the BEST thing that can happen to a guy. Chris
  17. Sweet! I just love the smell of burning wood. Chris
  18. You'll be real happy with that 'balt. The interior quality on the car is impressive. Seems like the last several I've seen have had a MUCH higher build quality. Also, the center stack design in the car is really growing on me. Good luck with the new car. Chris
  19. We had one of those V8 Audi's show up at our last Autocross, and the owner had more money than sense and let us pretty much beat on it all day without mercy. A very impressive car! Amazing what stability control will do when you try to drift it sideways at 55 MPH! Chris
  20. Actually, I think a lot of people rightfully feel a lot of anger about what is going on in this country, and I think getting in here and yelling at each other is thearaputic, if nothing else. However, I still hold John McCain in contempt, as I do both Bushes and Reagan. Chris
  21. Thanks for the link! Chris
  22. One can only hope this backlash trend will continue. Chris
  23. They do when it is FOX news. Although several of the local Republican Idiots refuse to listen to even FOX, saying it has been overtaken by liberals. Chris
  24. Hey, if Arnold can hang his nnaked ass out in Terminator, Sarah can shake her ass in a red swimsuit and be V.P. Maybe Hef will get his wish and she will pose? Doubtful, but??? Chris
  25. Cobalt is probably a better real world car if it is going to see highway use. Cobalt also strikes me as safer if something happens. I've got two teens in the family that will both be driving soon (and a third not far behind). If something bad is going to happen, I would much rather it happen in a Cobalt than a Fit. Not that I would wish ill on a Cobalt, it is a fantastic car. Chris
