  1. Interesting that the Mazda three is having a bit of an off month. Glad to see MX-5 sales start to rebound a little bit... Chris
  2. Isn't the Dakota discontinued? Nothing here is a suprise, fuel efficient vehicles are selling, things like the Grand Cherokee are tanking. Glad to see the Avenger do well. Chris
  3. I feel about Hyundai like a lot of people here feel about Toyota. Hyundai just needs to die and go away. That being said, a huge part of their being down 11% has to be the economy. Chris
  4. Also, economy is in worse shape than most people give it credit for... GM is getting intself into pretty good position to bounce back if the economy bounces back. Chris
  5. But the dealer probably charges a reconditioning fee if the take a car back, right? Glad to see the new products doing well. Hopefully Astra does well also. Chris
  6. My best friend from high school, who lives with his family in the Bay area, would agree with you. Given Ohio's climate I am really, really jealous of you O.C. for living out there... Chris
  7. Off topic really, but I just have to get to the british Isles sometime. Wish I'd have thought of something like a kilt wedding when Kim and I got married. She (Kim) just loves celtic culture, and I am a bit of an anglophile myself. Off topic again, but are there any old MG's, Triumphs, Healy's etc. in any kind of regular use in Engladn around where you live? Or dare I ask any Lotus? I just LOVE old British sports cars. Chris
  8. .and please keep posting. I am quite enjoying reading your posts, and actually hear them in a British accent in my head as I am reading them. Chris
  9. Local Dodge dealer isn't even carrying full sized Suv's anymore. At about $5 a gallon we will hopefully start to become rational and intelligent. Chris
  10. Don't know why anyone needs to be "all GM." Most of the cars that I have owned have been GM, however I have owned a few non-GM cars that I have loved. Like DF said, it would be awesomely cool if say the Cutlass was still in production (or the Regal or RWD Monte) and then she had a choice. Chris
  11. The Jeep products have always rated really low at CR. Read a 4 wheel drive magazine and you'll get another story. The Yaris, Forenza, and FJ really belong on the list. The Japanese have built some great vehicles, but these three ain't it. Chris
  12. Ditto on the SRX. Chris
  13. Actually as an aside I have a friend whose family is rather large and they all fit rather well in a Prius. ...and aatabloke, your right, $6 a gallon is coming. Chris
  14. When I looked at Leasing a Civic SI a TSX was $68 a month cheaper. they do offer great lease rates. Chris
  15. No doubt we'll be seeing people stupid enough to rice these to no end. Chris
  16. Should be a nice little Minivan when you get it done... Chris
  17. Okay, not much of a Nissan guy but I am in lust over that thing. Should be about a billion times better than the Avalanche. And yes, 68, I could see owning a 68-72 Cutlass 2 dr HARDTOP (hold the B pillar, please). Although a local car show, IIRC had a W-30 olds (70 IIRC) that had the post and was still a cool car. Have fun with the new ride, GMPARTSGIRL Chris
  18. Cool, MINI is up there in the JD Powers Poll. Chris
  19. Off topic Rabbit trail, but your right, gay men and Californians are just like teenaged girls or old men or Muslims or people who drive Miatas or math teachers or anyone else-5% assholes and 95% basically o.k. Chris
  20. Which is my my friend Trevor had to help his neighbor break into her Camry when the locks quit working and the battery went dead. I used to work in an auto parts store, Toyotas do break like everything else. Chris
  21. You'll get it sorted out, don't sweat it. When you've run it 278,987 miles and your droping it off at Michigan Metal Recycling this will seem like small stuff. Offer to kick my wife's Mazda is still open, BTW. Chris
  22. Driving down a side street I'd never driven down before, a 65 or 66 Red GTO hardtop poking out from a garage. A brown 69 Camaro SS big block moved in about a mile or two down the road from me. And I saw a Lambo Miura on the road in rural Ohio, what it was doing there I don't know. Also saw a big block 71 Corvette ragtop at a gas station. Chris
  23. Actually I have three daughters, 7, 11, and 17. None of them EVER tried to pull any of that on me. This kind of $h! is wrong if your male or female, young or old. Chris
  24. Keep us posted, he sounds like a great guy. Those of us out here in internetland care and want to see you and BF happy! Chris
