  1. China is ruining the United States!!! we need to put HUGE TARRIFS on EVERYTHING THAT COMES FROM CHINA!!!! im talking atleast a 40 percent tarriff.. JUST BECAUSE THOSE PEOPLE ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO WORK FOR A DOLLAR AN HOUR THE WHOLE WORLD SUFFERS.. if they do reduce the wages that much they wont have to worry about health care because HALF THE WORKERS WOULD RESIGN.. I know if i worked there id be looking for a new job right now..
  2. someone told me that the Scion TC is built from the delta platform.. is this true?? the Cobalt and TC are simular in size.. any truth to this???
  3. i drove an equinox and thought it was a pretty nice truck.. im hoping they offer the 3.9L V6 as an option..
  4. yeah its true.. the 9-6 has been cancelled.. could a Saab Theta be far behind??
  5. the current 9-2 will live about two more years.. i could see it being replaced with something.. maybe based off an opel.. but it probably would be built on the delta platform.. but it probably wont be a cobalt clone.. the proposed 9-6, that was going to be based on the tribeca is dead.. so they will have to look elsewhere for a new Suv..
  6. the G6 i just ordered was $27,600... I havent driven the 4 cyl G6, but i have driven a 4cyl Malibu, basically the same car.. and the acceleration wasnt bad at all..
  7. since we all know that the Colorado/Canyon and especially the Hummer H3 could really use a V6 engine, would it be possible to offer the 3.9L V6 thats used in the impala/Monte carlo in these?? of course it would have to be mounted diffrently, but if they are planning on bringing back the camaro it would probably use the 3.9L as its base engine, so they would need to engineer it for rwd anyways..
  8. what about using the 3.9L V6 from the impala, G6, malibu.. in the Colorado/Canyon??? would it fit?? with 240 hp it would be right on par with the other compact/midsize trucks...
  9. the Colorado/Canyon will probably see a facelift for 07 or 08.. where they will probably look more like the 08 silverado/sierra.. these trucks need more power. does anyone know for sure what the base engine for the 08 silverado is?? Ive heard that the 4.3L will get the axe, or it will be totally overhauled.. what they need to do is develop a new V6 for truck use.. a dohc unit around 4.0L or so.. then they could use it in the hummer h3, colorado, canyon, silverado and full size vans.. one thing i just thought of is would the 3.9L ohv V6 from the impala, g6, malibu.. fit in the colorado??? with 240 hp it would be right on par with other small/midsize trucks...
  10. Pontiac does need a small car for the usa, but why make it a clone of the Cobalt?? id like to see four or five seat coupe built from the kappa platform..
  11. yeah i have a yellow 2004 Cavalier. ill probably just keep it too, just to drive around town and to work..
  12. I just ordered a 2006 G6 GTP sedan in electric blue, with tan leather interior.. I drove an Impala, Cobalt SS, Equinox, the GTP and a CTS.. and came away impressed with all of them.. it was a very hard decision.. in the end it was neck and neck between the CTS and the GTP.. I really liked the CTS but couldnt justify spending about $6,000 more and over $100.00 a month more for the payment.
  13. maybe try to hire away Nissan Chief Carlos Goshn.. or one of the top people from Honda or Toyota..
  14. Ive heard that they want to sell them in Europe and the middle east. but it probably wont be until next year.. the need to ramp up production more.. once that happens you will see some of them exported.. im thinking they could sell atleast 20,000 or so a year over there..
  15. If the Camaro gets the Green light.. its engine choices would more than likely be.. base cars would be powered by the 3.9L ohv V6, the same engine that powers impala's, malibu's and G6's.. in this application it would probably produce around 250 hp.. this would kill the base mustang.. midlevel cars would be powered by a 5.3L ohv V8. HP would be somewhere in the 320 range.. top models would use a "detuned" version of the Corvette's 6.0L V8 but in the camaro it would be around 380 hp..
  16. they dont need the Optra sedan anymore... not when you have the Cobalt now..
  17. I really like the 06 Impala.. i have yet to drive one of even sit in an 06, but it has to be an improvement over the 05 model.. Im going to be ordering a new car next week and have no idea what i want still.. right now its a toss up of eiether an Impala SS, G6 GTP, Equinox LT2, or a CTS 2.8L... I have only driven the GTP so far.. with the Impala SS im concerned about fuel econony even though they say it gets like 26 mpg.. the CTS would probably get the best fuel econony out of the 4, but it also is the most expensive.. the CTS is around 33K sticker while the other three are around 27K.. in looking at it i think the CTS isnt much better than the GTP.. not really enough to justify spending nearly 5K more on the CTS..
  18. Id probably go with the Cobalt SS.. although I just started working for Honda at the East Liberty Ohio plant. and we build the Civic sedan and Element.. Ive only been there one day and i actually start the job the following monday..
  19. the one picture of the interior just screems cheap.. it makes the Cavalier's interior look good...
  20. i may take a look at an H3 now. with GMS and $2,000 down i can lease one for $315.00 a month.. my new employer might not like it though.. I just got a new job at Honda's east liberty plant making Civics and Elements..
  21. if there is another 9-2 it will likely be built on the Delta platform.. the current 9-2 will probably be built for another two years..
  22. aNYONE KNOW WHICH PLANT IS PRODUCING THE 900 Ft wayne IN, Oshwa Ontario, will build the pickups. Arlington TX, Janesville Wis, and Silao Mexico will build the SUV's
  23. do they still make cavaliers or sunfires in mexico?? and they already axed the Aztec so i dont see where the production volume problem is... They could start building the HHR in Lordstown alongside the Cobalt. Lordstown could probably build an extra 20K HHR's a year..
  24. they will probaly retrofit one of the existing north american factories for production of these cars.. the plant in Austrailia simply wouldnt have enough capacity to build them all.. with Saturn Ion production seemingly headed to Lordstown Ohio for the 08 model year, Spring Hill TN could be a possibility.. the another choice would be Oshwa Ontario.. Doraville GA is possible, as is Kansas City, malibu production could be moved to Orion Mich,
  25. yeah some of them are probaly already built, when i worked at lordstown i seen a Cobalt in august 2003, 4 months before it was shown to the public. so yeah id say its possible..
