  1. Thank you, for all your hard work, Mr. Fly.
  2. The GMT 900s were pulled ahead for early production. So, something was sacrificed to do that, but the 4L60E is still an excellent transmission. This fight is not going to be over in these first few months on the market. You can bet both Toyota and GM were looking over their shoulders during the development process, but I have every confidence in my new truck, and GM's unmatched ability in this segment. I find Toyota's marketing practices for the Tundra to be distastefully predatory, and I find the mention in the first few sentences of every article about this truck of how "American" it is to be distasteful as well... but that's my opinion, I'm just waiting for the parade of recalls on the Atomic Tadpole to start. I'm a very happy and loyal GM truck owner.
  3. That's a goodlooking GA, Vipes. I'd like to see an SE coupe (less cladding) in that color, done like that (except with the factory, dark GT taillamps), without a spoiler. That would be righteous. Hehe, I just realized what I posted. OK, an SE coupe, in that color, with darkened headlights, factory, smoked GT taillamps, tinted windows, and those rims. Sweet.
  4. cameltoe *shiver*
  5. A brown, MCE Pacer (with the raised center hood)... followed me into town this morning.
  6. Uh... I got something in the mail today from a Brian D something or other. Should I open it, or call the bomb squad?

Do I even have to ask why the floors are brown in both of the above photos? Satty, on the Golden Shower Award you are requesting... sorry bud, I read your post about 20 minutes too late.

  9. I think I like the '57 Ford better than the '58-'59. Love that retractable roof though, on either year. Thanks for throwing this back up to the top, Satty. Hope you feel better.
  10. Oh... when I saw the title I thought you just had yourself a massive poop. But this is even better news! That Firehawk is "one of one", it deserves special care. When I sold my '65 Corvair, I felt bad about it, and I still wonder how it's doing, all these years later.
  11. It looks like it was that metallic pink color, unless it was red and super faded. It would be an ambitious project, to be sure, but I hope someone buys it and saves it from oblivion. Wagons are "hot" right now among hot rodders. This car, with a factory original body but modern running gear, would be an O mega cool Olds.
  12. A sweet, but weathered little honey. If you buy her, be gentle with her.
  13. avro, congratulations on the Super Sport! The 2.4L Ecotec is a runner, it should loosen up nicely for you with some miles.
  14. Well, I just ordered a set of shackles from Stylin' Concepts, made by DJM Suspension. The dude on the phone said they will bring the truck down exactly 2 inches. I'm sure there will be instructions. I'm guessing I just need to jack up the rear of the truck at the frame until there is no tension on the spring and then unbolt it from the factory shackle.
  15. Three years almost to the day. That's actually on the high side of average for me. Thanks once again, fellers.
  16. I'll put a picture of my shackles up. The spring is bolted to the top of the shackle, therefore, a longer shackle will effectively lower the truck. As far as I know, u-bolts are u-bolts, shackles are the brackets with bushings that mount the rear of the leaf spring to the frame.
  17. I did not care for the Commander when it first arrived, but now I like it. Actually, I think it looks better than the current GC. I think the Commander should have been a GC, with a low roof 2 row model and the high roof 3 row model. I know the driving dynamics of the new GC are much improved over the last gen (IFS be damned), but the new styling is just not as handsome. A low roof Commander as a Grand Cherokee would look good, imo. So, the name "Commander" will go away, but, based on the spy pics of the next Liberty, I bet the next GC looks more like the current Commander. Or the Trailhawk. Jeep has a problem with their bigger wagons. The problem? The old Cherokee. Jeep customers just love that thing, and they cannot get past that love. Notice how every new wagon Jeep comes out with (except for the pathetic Compass) takes styling cues from the late, lamented Cherokee. So now they're floundering around, trying to regain that magic.
  18. Oh hell, a '59 LeSabre two door post? Awesome! I concur with z on the powder blue color. Pics ASAP if you get it!

  20. A 229 powered Nova???
  21. So, um... you jumped out of your own cake? Did you pretend to be surprised?

That's the oddest bathing suit I've ever seen.
  23. Well, I stood up in the bed and stuck my measuring tape between the cab and bed, down to the floor of my garage. I measured the truck at almost 73.5" tall. I have about an inch clearance between the truck and that garage door pulldown bar. *Whew* It is snowing here today, so no new pics yet. So far, the G80 is doing fine. My fuel economy average on the DIC keeps going up. So far it is at 16.5, not bad for a green engine with about 80% in-town driving. Also, this is hilly country around here. Of course, I've been gentle with it so far. On the highway, the switch from V8 to V4 is imperceptible, I have to rely on the DIC to tell me when it switches. Did I tell you I love the DIC? :AH-HA_wink: Thanks for all the kind comments, and I want to post some more pictures when the weather gets decent. Oh, and I hate tire dressing. My wheels are all greasy and black from the crap they put on the tires when they cleaned it for delivery.
  24. There is a 2" shackle kit for the new style trucks available already, I think the company is called DJM Suspension. And the top of the rear bumper is exactly 2" higher than the top of the front bumper. I think this is gonna be my first mod.
