Was there damage in the gray portion of the bumper cover from this accident? The $1100 figure for a fender is total bull$h!. If a new fender is still available from GM, the list price is published for the entire US. If it is discontinued, all bets are off. I have not checked. I can if you want. It sounds like you're going to gather your own parts and have it fixed. Best of luck to you in getting your beloved car back on the road. When you get a copy of the estimate, I'll be interested in seeing it if you care to send it along.
  4. That SRT-8 coupe is a stunnah. I want one.
  5. The hood had a functional Cowl Induction mechanism as well on '81 and later X-11s, and after 1980, I believe they lost the stick-on side scoop. They also had body-colored bumpers.

I don't know Florida's laws as far as difficulties involved in obtaining a reconstructed title. I know once a car is declared total here in PA, by law it has to be reported to Harrisburg. It seems, for that price, the estimate was written for new parts as opposed to good used parts. The bumper cover wasn't damaged beyond repair based on your photos. It should not have been cut. Removing the headlight would have sufficed to check for apron damage, but, with the fender interfering with the headlight, maybe they could not take it out without "removing" the bumper. I know the first-gen Auroras are tight to work on in the front ends. The teardown looks like it was done by a kid right out of vo-tech. Looking at the pictures before the butchering, it doesn't look bad, but it is dangerous for me to say that as it is illegal for me to write an estimate without physically laying my hands on the car. I'd be interested in seeing the estimate, maybe I could help answer some questions about it if there are any left unanswered. Good luck Brian, this does not look good.

  13. We have emissions testing here in Lancaster County. Too bad they don't require emissions testing on Amish horses. Every time they raise their tail... pee yew
  14. He's pretty cool. Best to him.
  15. Chunky. Hot. Unmistakable.
  16. It looks good, nice and tough, not weird like the Japanese competition. G6 GTP still trumps it in looks and hosspowuh, however.

  18. It doesn't look American, and it isn't American. Toyota is not an American company, never was, never will be. You should be ashamed of yourself.

If you get a chance, toyoguy, see if it says "albacore" anywhere on those knobs.
  20. Wow, that race car is so cool. Fly, I love the minor changes on that '94 Aurora show car. The front fascia, imo, is much nicer than the production version. The Vista Roof is very cool, and the rims appear to be close to the Final 500 Silhouette rims.
  21. hehehe, it makes me want to buy one of those cheap tarps to put over it in the middle of the night. Maybe the seller will get the hint.

How'd you get your eyes uncrossed?
  23. Silly boy, those are K-mart wheel covers.
  24. Just a thought: check to see if Pontiac still has some Super Duty parts available for your engine. If they're still available, they'll be in the GM Performance Parts catalog.
  25. There's a '79 El Camino for sale near me. It's black with a wedge of pink starting at the bottom of the front fender, running up to the top of the tailgate and around. It has '90's Caprice 9C1 stainless pie plate wheel covers. Would that be more to your liking?
