  1. General Motors has applied for a trademark to register “Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ” with the United States Patent Office. Hmmm... could Chevy be planning to sell a butched-up, off-roady Trax/Trailblazer in the U.S.? Sounds interesting!
  2. Maybe an XT5 Bustleback? I think the loss of Opel, which raised a bit of alarm for some Buick lovers worried about the brand's future, may turn out to be a blessing, because it will force/enable GM to bring Buick back into the fold and align it more closely with Chevrolet and Cadillac, platform-wise. No more Buick styling that is held back by being forcibly shared with Opel, a bland Euro product by and large. I think the concept at the top of the thread would make a smashing Envision replacement, but for it to work and sell in decent numbers, it will need a conventional powertrain. The only thing wrong with the Envision is its uber-bland styling, imo.
  3. I don't remember reading that, but it is possible. Would be cool to see this new truck powered by the rumored inline six FCA is working on, and a diesel of some sort of extraction. Coincidentally, I wrote an estimate on an '05 Dakota today (in clean condition) and scheduled the work.
  4. I am sure the Duramax Colorado sells pretty well in "West Virgina" (sic) and the other 49 states of this great country.
  5. The only time a downvote is any of your concern is if it pertains to a post of yours. Settle yourself. West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country roads...
  6. 2022 is WAY late to market, but better late than never I guess. They were slow to respond when the S-10 and Ranger revolutionized the pickup market with domestic compacts back in the early 80's, too. I will have to read up on the first-gen Dakota's development to confirm that its platform was scratch-built and not simply a scaled down D100, but I think any new Ram midsize would need to match the competition in size, not exceed them.
  7. I would seriously consider one. There are strong, genuine benefits to diesel engines. Real power for real people of the everyday persuasion. And the Jeep brand is a perfect fit. olds what are you doing now? Stalking?
  8. That's a Chevrolet. Saw a twin pair of 2019 Silverado regular cabs today at a local dealer, in blue... only option being the G80 locker, so as base as it gets, with roll-up windows, etc. Simply a Chevy pickup, no more no less, it is like the more things change, the more they stay the same. That 8' + bed is YUGE inside! Very solid.
  9. Well that is a factory situation. VW slathers a similar stuff on their cars too.
  10. reg, that is not rust. I am no BMW fan by a long shot... but that is corrosion protection material spilling out of the door drain holes. Fixed that for ya Balthy
  11. Well no, but that was your example I was using. Finding a working charger depends on how widespread the outage is. I am leaving the people alone, it is the cars themselves I pick on. I hope everyone sees that distinction.
  12. Not sure how divergent they'll be going forward. They could also just call it the VW Sportwagen, or the VW Alltrac, if the new one is based on a divergent Golf.
  13. Could easily be switched back to "Jetta Sportwagen" by peeling off the taped-on badges and replacing them.
  14. That's really nice. My route is 24-25 miles each way. So... assuming I have 100% charge coincidentally at the moment the power outage starts, I suppose I could go 5 days, strictly driving only back and forth to and from work, with zero side trips for groceries that don't need refrigeration, or cooking, in perfect weather that does not require heating or cooling the car, and not using any accessories like a radio... seems totally doable. Wow, I just talked myself into it. Seems so easy all of a sudden. olds, I will take my chances we will not have another gas crisis v. the mathematical possibility of a power outage... which to me would go up if everybody's drawing power for a car. PLUS... no tanks needed for domestic oil production.
  15. Some of you guys are gonna drive me to drinkin'!
  16. Happened once. How many power outages have happened?
  17. Yup, a power failure in a home-charged electric car world... nobody can get to work... how lovely. BLOCK PARTY!
  18. Sry, forgot to add video to my above post:
  19. I would sooo take an LT1 in green with stick if I could swing an older pickup in addition for commuting.
  20. OK, olds does not like Springsteen's work. How about this?
  21. It is not that much of a drop from 6642 per year base Golfs that generate a profit down to (grabbing calculator) about 2500 cars per year that lose $3k per unit (projection for the ID hatchback found elsewhere). It's a win-win situation for Volkswagen. What could go wrong. On the other side of the coin, with the demise of the Beetle and the base Golf (which has been all 4-door for a few years), maybe VW will start selling 2-door GTI in America again. EDIT: Just 776 e-Golfs were sold in the first half of the year in the U.S. <== 2018. Sorry, my "2500 cars per year" guess on ID hatch sales seems too optimistic. Imagine that.
  22. You really want to call me out on THAT when dfelt freely injects his OPINION inappropriately of our president every chance he gets instead of sticking with facts? You need to be neutral otherwise you are ineffective.
