    This is me...

Um, doy, not if you're planning on living to 108!
  2. A coworker of mine has been talking for some time about trading his loaded Alero on a Cobalt SS/SC. He'd build up, then deflate... so I wasn't sure if he'd ever do it. Well, he did it, and I am officially jealous. He's about 54, compact, with s&p hair, and single (he's straight.) He says he's not quite ready to say he's having a midlife crisis... I say to hell with that... enjoy yourself! It's silver/black with sunroof.
  3. Wow! Maybe the smoke and mirrors has blinded and choked me, but a G6 GTP coupe equipped the way I want (very lightly optioned, with 6 speed manual and ultrabright wheels only), is now only $24,040! Before the price reductions, it was over $26k. Still, if the invoice hasn't changed, my price with the employee discount would be the same as before... I really need to check with our Pontiac store in Harrisburg...
  4. Pontiac style. Something the current car is lacking.

Ew, glory holes are nasty. I saw one once, in a public restroom at the Outer Banks, NC.
  6. I would say it's a $25k car, based on the competition. A sub-G6 offering should be available... a Kappa 4 seater, in the $20k range.
  7. Looking at the poll results so far, Viper, I'd say there are a lot of "Ocnblu types" here. What? I like the "dished" decklid much more than a cheesy, tacked on spoiler. The lid itself looks as though it functions perfectly well to hold down the tail... like a Corvette... no need for chintzy add-ons. It does have an intriguing mix of flow and sharpness, as shown in a view from 3/4 front... nice sharp hip lines on the quarters balance well with the rounder lower contours. The editors at Road & Track agree... this car is eye catching.
  8. The new Road & Track magazine has a road test on the G6 GTP 6MT coupe, and they give it an overall positive review... they even comment on the quiet cabin... noting a lack of wind noise. C&D's test car obviously had a door seal/weatherstrip problem not indicative of the car's design. Road & Track also commented on the shift linkage, but said the clutch has a nicer feel than the Accord. R&T's GTP went down the 1/4 mile at 15 seconds flat. They praised it for that... and they were clearly enamoured with the styling. The test car was bright blue with black leather.
  9. I am completely and utterly stunned at this news. Even though Chief and I ended our friendship a while back (for reasons unclear to me,) I am certainly thinking of him now. Condolences to Jay. I had no idea he was not well, he never let on.
  10. The rumor mill is churning about Toyota bringing out a basic, small, fun pickup truck smaller than the crappy, frogeye Tacoma. GM would be wise to study the possibility as well... like now.

See now, I would have waited a second or two longer. Once it was out and in full view, then the "out of order" sign would have been unfurled. With a wink. :AH-HA_wink:

    get to know me!

  13. That shot of the yellow Z06 is my wallpaper.
  14. God durn, happy birthday, balthy.... "The Invictorator!"

Well so long as some drunk didn't take it out and give you a golden shower. That would suck.
  16. The body-color headlamp housings, fancy rims, fascias, and rear spoiler look like a classic example of a quick update on an otherwise obviously dated product. Honda planners didn't read the tea leaves, or didn't care enough to bring something new to the emerging subcompact NA market... Nissan is guilty as well, with the Versa. It seems like Aveo may have caught rivals with their pants down.
  17. Nice rides, man! My favorite is the '72, but the new GTO looks good with the hood and grilles.
  18. Maybe they're trying to simulate a modern-day Chrysler Slant 6, that's why it's jammed over to the right like that.
  19. Sounds like a sitcom. :)

What's the matter, zoom? We need to be as openminded as we expect others to be. Without beautiful, sexy women, none of us would be here.
  21. Funkypunnk... maybe I'm the one who first spilled subtle and not-so-subtle gay oneliners into otherwise non-sexual threads. If so, sorry. I personally never wanted to offend the majority. It is not a choice. It comes from way deeper than conscious choice. Also, your "gender role" view of gay couples is flatout wrong, for the majority of people. Most couples like to switch "who's on top", if I may put it that bluntly, since you've decided not to invite your daughter to the forum (purely your choice, and I respect that.) I'm not going to get too excited about your stated views, even though I disagree with much of what you've posted in this thread. We're all adults, each entitled to our own views. I would like to know more about the red LeMans to the left of your signature. Have you told us about it in the Reader's Rides section here? If not, please consider posting more pictures of it there, along with a story.

Neon, cool 3020! I also grew up on a farm, and we were John Deere people... green as grass. My grandfather had a 1929 GP restored. We also had a couple of Bs (hand start!) and an A with electric start. I practically grew up on a wide front 3020. We also had the quintessential American Farm Tractor: a 4020. And a 4320. The 30 and 40 series tractors were also nice... we had a 4230, 4430, 4630... then moved on to 4440. Huge 8430 and 8630 came toward the end, right before my grandfather died and my uncle eventually had to sell out. What a nice surprise, seeing that little 3020 up here. Thanks for that.

Yeah, we've got that whole "self loathing" thing going on down here... where we hate love. We're really effed up in a lot of ways when it comes to love.
