December 2013: Volkswagen of America, Inc.
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in 2013 Sales Archive
It is much better packaged than the previous design. No more 4-foot deep dash taking up so much interior room. Plus, the load area is bigger than before. I have enjoyed owning mine so far, even with my concerns, which I hope to resolve soon.- 6 replies

I have yet to knock my father down, steal his keys, and lay rubber in his '13 Impy. I'd be innerested in doing so, if I could get away with it. Chrome trunk trim piece has been switched for a body color trim piece. Grillework is a silver crosshatch design. Car is still a soldier. I was over at Jalopnik last night, and a kid on there was handed down a red Impy, which he hated when his parents bought it new... but now he has grown very attached. He even autocrosses it. Ask Dodgefan, he's over there posting under his rill name.

I am wondering if a chip has been installed in my head. Moltie, you have any unusual lumps behind yer ears? Drewbert, I will have you know that I kept my '94 S-10 regular cab 4X4 LS 4.3 with 5 speed manuel (Spanish transmission) for 4 years and 125k miles, bought brand new. So... a precedent has been set. That was a damn good little truck.

There is no provision for a block heater on the 2.0TDi, from the research I've done so far. It sat outside at work all day with dropping temps, 29 degrees on the dash this evening when it started right up and ran perfectly as I went to leave.

Some sort of evil, Orwellian ad campaign?

Didn't go anywhere yesterday, car was in garage of course. Started it early this afternoon to go get groceries and it started, but it shook like an em effer, with a death clang that lasted for about 8 seconds before settling down and running smooth. First time it's done that. No warning lights.

So, I am driving this Tundra into a small business parking lot. It's got about 50k miles on it, and I've owned it since new. It is quiet and solid as the day it was born. I think to myself, "I really like this. I think this is one I'll keep." Seriously, this was a dream/nightmare that woke me up last night. I've got real issues.

I guess, still, it has me concerned about resale value, although I still believe the TDi is the one to get.- 6 replies

Chevrolet News:2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 To Start At $75,000*
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Yeah, thanks Z. The SS would be enough for me anyway, if I could even afford that. I guess I, like a lot of ppl my age and older, remember the Z28, or Z/28, as a minor appearance and hardware upgrade over a base model car, and that is our problem. This time around it is a whole new ballgame. A lot of people have been asking for a car with a Z/28 option, and a 1LE option, based on what they were in the past. But Chevrolet has gone all serious on us. How many of these new Z/28s will be sold, when such a large majority of the traditional Camaro demographic is priced way out of the market? Time will tell, because I see no way for Chevrolet to go back to the traditional way of marketing a Z/28 or a 1LE after this. It is almost like Chevrolet is doing this as a final send-off so they can justify getting rid of the Camaro all together... or at least, as we've known it since 1967. -
...and some of us continue to wait while the bright light of the Code130RS fades. This Kia sounds interesting so far, I hope it is not too far out in design, and that it comes to market.

Another nutjob pricing strategy by GM. First, their luxury golfcart, the ELR, and now this badass individual. In.sane. -

The Beetle, being a new design, is really tanking... horrible performance, saleswise.- 6 replies

ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Lincoln
That is so odd... I tried to be funneh and spell "compares" as c o m p a l e s, insinuating that the Lincoln would "pale" in comparison to the Cadillac, but when encased in your quote, "compares" is how it appears... spel check? -
