It looks more substantial and mature all around. The interior is a huge improvement. Nice.

It looks fabulous to me.

That gray Canyon above looks good. I like the "galvanized" Chevy Z71 interior color that is shown on the website, but it wouldn't go with the Rainforest Green too well, imo. Although I do like the Cyber Gray...

A jaw-dropper. Looks awesome, especially without the Platinum model's tasteless bling. I'll take an XLT regular cab 4X4 with the 3.5L in Green Gem.

I hope a brown and tan interior is available on the Chevy, too.

2015 GMC Canyon

There are so many morons over at GMC's Facebook page, commenting on this new truck and they haven't got a clue. I would not be able to handle running a Facebook page for any of the OEMs. It is ridiculous. These new Canyons are awesome! -
Yup, those Chargers are nice. Congratulations on the steady, good job. In my part of town? It took me 4 tries to get my computer to come on this morning, an HP Pavilion. The power light bar flashes orange and it beeps, and just sits there in the twilight zone. I had to shut off the whole shebang at the power strip several times. Not sure what's wrong with it. And I've been having harrowing cold-start experiences with my car lately, too, relating to an intercooler icing problem that VW has known about since 2011. Although it can cause the engine to explode itself by hydrolocking, VW has decided it is best for them not to fix the problem in regular production. Friday, the dealer installed a modification kit to the intercooler system. I hope it works, because the Colorados aren't out yet (if I can even afford one.) And I went to the Chinese buffet the other night after the gym, and I was the only customer at 8:30, they were cleaning the booths all around me. I got grilled tilapia, fried shrimps, green bean and white rice. It was sad.

I like them both. The Chevy a little bit more. These are sweet vehicles.

Roger, please let us know if you like the new Canyon. Have you seen it yet? -
Supposed to prevent water from getting into the cylinders and killing the engine I suspect

So nice to return to the days of simple honesty in a vehicle. These were nice old trucks, thanks 98!

The kit is installed, and the car is running like a raped ape. Just in time for two days of warm weather, but the temps are due to drop back, especially in the overnights, through the week. We'll see how it goes.

I've been "jogging" up and down the pool at the gym for a while now. It helps, but I am not on a regular, strict calendar. I'd like to go every other day, which then varies the day of the week, but it hasn't happened. I usually end up going about 3 times per week. I also sit in the dry sauna for 15 minutes per session, usually 2 sessions per gym visit, between pool sessions.

The rear track on that black-ish dually is WAY too narrow, something major is off there, that is not factory.

I printed off the 11 page, latest version of the Technical Service Bulletin from Volkswagen. And I have confirmed that my selling dealer has some sort of "revised" cold weather kit in stock to install on the engine. It involves taking off the front bumper, etc., to get into the affected area, take stuff apart, and install the kit. I am not certain if this "revised" kit actually fixes the issue for future cold weather... but I am left wondering if damage hasn't already been done to my engine because Volkswagen wanted to cheap out and save a few pennies... and the bulletin states VW has NO PLANS to start installing this kit at the time of manufacture! It has been a known problem since 2011! So, in a nutshell, I am left with greatly diminished trust in the lifespan of my engine. There have been 4 episodes so far where the car has had this issue to varying degrees... the last two have involved loud knocking upon start-up, lasting 8-10 seconds... a near hydro-lock condition. I was not ready to let go of this fun-to-drive, solidly built little car... but I will not drive a time-bomb. So far, from the research I've done, I have no assurances from Volkswagen that these episodes haven't already done mortal (or at least life-shortening) damage.

Two words: intercooler icing. A known problem with these cars. And, according to the article at the link, it can cause engine failure. VW is aware but has not responded with a permanent fix for the problem. There is a "cold weather intercooler kit" issued by Volkswagen, but apparently, it does not work for some customers, and the waiting list is months long to get it. I have an appointment this Friday at the dealer... but after reading this, I am probably going to get a song and dance routine, since VW Engineering has not responded in a satisfactory manner with an effective repair. Car did the same thing this morning it did in my garage on Sunday. Apparently, liquid water from condensation accumulating in the intercooler is getting into the cylinders... which can explode an engine. Seems I've been too close for comfort with these episodes. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5574701-TDI-Intercooler-Issue-Design-Flaw

Sat outside at work all day... got in it @ 6 p.m. to come home, dash thermometer read 8 degrees. Started perfectly after a pause for the glowplugs to heat up.
-
Parking at work is well away from any electrical outlet. I don't think I need one @ home, as the garage generally does not get colder than 40 degrees.

Rear, too. And black beltline moldings, block lower fascias, dark gray grille trim, and red Trailhawk and Trail Rated badges, plus a one-inch factory lift. The Trailhawk wheels are the only Cherokee wheels I like. The Limited has a higher base MSRP though. A Trailhawk with one option, the 3.2L V6, has an MSRP of a bit over $31k. Too rich for my blood.
