  1. That Mk VII Golf is so sharp. Love the squarer look to it. The rear quarter glass on the 2-door especially, as it mimics pretty closely the Mk I.
  2. Collectible Automobile is an excellent publication, imo.
  3. The Colorado you saw is a GM-built variation for fleets.
  4. Enterprise has rented new Altimas to quite a few of our customers already. Didn't get a chance to look inside one, but the outside, to me, seems too subtle of a continuation of the breakthrough 2000 model. And we have a white ZR-1 Corvette in the shop... it appears the driver spun and kissed a jersey wall on the left rear corner (cannot swear to circumstances though, as a co-worker is handling it) . Needs a rear tub and everything. Heartbreaking to look at it.
  5. Ford currently offers factory fold-out bedside steps ahead of the wheel. I click on it when I Build&Price an F150 all the time. It's like $335 for the set. I do agree that the tailgate step looks rickety, plus it only adds to the expense of replacing a tailgate, a part that often sustains damage on a working pickup truck.

  7. !!! Good luck with your new adopted baby!
  8. Went lot browsing there one Sunday.
  9. Ram Express and Ford FX2/FX4 do pretty well, and they're only monochrome/wheel/sticker/interior trim packages. I think a real enhanced handling package might do better on the smaller truck. For performance, the aftermarket is still pretty vibrant on fullsize trucks.
  10. Here are a few I've thought of: Sport appearance package Regular cabs with greater option availability 2-tone paint availability More vibrant, varied color options
  11. blah blah blah
  12. I am perturbed by the bumps on the corners of the rear bumper. I'll bet they're cut out steps, which would be handy. I just hope they're handled elegantly. The greenhouse is so clean-lined as to be wimpy in these new shots. I hope I'm wrong-o.
  13. Here's the place to rake in a big ol' pile of your most unusual vehicle spottings. Old, new, or just different, tell us what you're seeing out there this month.
  14. Glad the selling process was painless and quick.
  15. Plus it is way better looking than the current 5-door hatch, which we also don't get here in GM's home country. A Cruze diesel wagon with 6 speed manual would shirley give Volkswagen a run for its money... it's a GM product, so it is serviceable at many more dealers than Volkswagen, let alone more places to buy the car.
  16. Yeah, I know the present system is slow, I was just asking why it isn't as simple as outlined in my post. There's plenty I don't know about the GM ordering system.
  17. Just to show that your name is not mud around here, on behalf of all of us who read and enjoy your dutiful postings, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  18. My '86 Camaro was a white base model with tan cloth seats. It did have a spoiler and a set of 60 horsepower black aluminum louvers over the back glass. Rally wheels. By that time, the base models had a black painted lower body. But other than that, it could have been a 2.8L 6 cylinder. It might count as a sleeper, with its 305 TBI and five speed manual. The Maryland State Trooper said "what you got in that?" when he stopped me. I was going over 100, but he waited to clock me at 80 mph as I rounded a bend on the interstate and sawr him standing there. My '00 GTI 1.8t was prolly a sleeper, too. At that time, VW gave us none of the prominent badging, deep bumpers, redline trim or exclusive wheel designs that marked a GTI in years past and since... even the foglights were enclosed in the headlight capsules. It was later revealed to be underrated at 150 hp, with more like 180 hp. So it was a plain silver 2-door VW Golf hatchback to the untrained eyeball. I had it up to 135 mph tailing a Benz E-class on an interstate stretch between DC and Annapolis. That was a blast. It was like that old novelty song from the 50s about the Rambler overtaking the Cadillac at high speed, and the final insult to the Cadillac driver was the Rambler guy calling out... "how do I get this thing out of 2nd gear?"
  19. Nah, a special order, with today's supercomputers, should be available much much sooner. It should be put in queue immediately from dealer computer to assembly plant computer to assembly line. The only real holdup should be transportation from factory to dealer.
  20. So snazzy. So unfair.
  21. There was also a similar interior color called "Oyster" in 1980.
