  2. Just throwing a bone to the CAFE soldiers. I don't care what they call it. I just want it sold here.
  3. Jacket's words ring true.
  4. Well, Renault is a French company, and Buick likes to sometimes use French names, so I guess it fits somewhere.
  5. microwave
  6. I wonder if any of this may have been the problem with my 2010 Colorado... no SES light, nothing, just wicked guzzling.
  7. I don't feel lag in the 1.4t. It has a wide power band. I haven't heard even the slightest whistle out of the turbocharger, either. Sometimes the sound reminds me of a Subaru engine though, whatever that means.
  8. seconds
  9. hahahahahahahaha... sooo worth it. NOT.
  10. Motor Trend sniped at the Cruze in its Focus/Cruze matchup, and now they're sniping at the Verano for flimsy reasons. They suck.
  11. Sometimes I think these stories are planted in order to gauge interest. Colour me interested in something so pleasant as a laid-back midsize coupe.
  12. Thank ya, Paulie!
  13. Blah, I only get two? Because Chrysler, Ford and VW all have things I like.
  14. My DIC is consistently optimistic. Is yours?
  15. WOOF!
  16. He's a smart man to have doubts about hybrids. The ridiculous CAFE standards are killers... of affordability, simplicity and vehicle choice. I am for diesels, which nowadays have no real trade-offs over a gas engine, aside from a mild initial cost penalty.
  17. Oh, nice. Thanks for the reference!
  18. That is a beautiful photo. What a stunner. It is strictly a coupe version of the sedan, not some trendy, forced "halo" coupe that burns out in the market after two years. This is quiet, comfortable and just sporty enough. I know it's a chop, but if it reached production just like that, it would find a market. An adult market. Leave the Cruze coupe to the younger crowd. This is for 40-somethings and up, who are empty-nesters, single people, etc. We do exist. I'd love to see the actual rendering. BRING IT, GM. Stop following, LEAD. Or have you forgotten how?
  19. It has gun-slit quarter windows like the Dodge Magnum, instead of a nice big glass area like a Volvo wagon used to have. At least the back glass appears to be sized for normal vision... but one still has to contend with high-ass rear seat headrests.
  20. The production VW Up, as shown in Bimmer's photo, is a much more attractive tiny car than the Spark, which is just WAY too trendy. Its shelf life is already dangerously close to being over, and it's not even out yet. Even with the refresh as seen in the picture of the blue Spark, it appears to be designed for a very short production run.
  21. The coupe appears to ride high and be oddly proportioned.
  22. Another stupid hybrid. Answer to a question nobody asked.
  23. I don't know what my insurance is going to do come February when it renews after totaling the Fiesta and repairing the Nitro that I hit. The Chevrolet Cruze is a sweet, quiet little car to drive. I turned another 30.5 MPG tank, having filled up over the weekend. DIC said 33.6 for this tank... hmmm... I'd love to have a '67-'72 C-10 shortbed, but something like that is definitely out of reach on a semi-permanent basis, with maintenance, repairs and insurance figured in. Plus a shelter for it, I'd never want to leave something like that out in the weather. The Cruze was an emergency choice, after all. It's what I need at the moment. Not sure what winter will bring, though. I've read it's supposed to be a mild one. First snow over 6" though, and you might see me post in the whine and cry thread. I just cannot abide having my mobility compromised, even temporarily. I suppose some might say I was shortsighted, hindered in my decision process by the necessity to move quickly without build-up or planning after losing my Fiesta. Such is life in a single income household. The Cruze as a weekday car, and some sort of 4X4 for weekends and bad weather would be ideal, but it simply is not in the cards. It has to be one or the other. The '12 Wrangler, with that sweet powerful efficient V6, is hard to beat. Not sure what it costs to insure one in the relative scheme of things, however. Plus, the new Colorado, if it has a diesel, should get about 25-28 mpg. I really want to see what the US version will look like, and cost, before any decision is made regarding a replacement for the Cruze. Car angst at age 47... shouldn't I be over this by now?
  24. I find myself going from 3rd to 5th a lot, or from 4th to 6th. Do I have too many GEARS?
  25. Too much information that has nothing atall to do with OC's return, sorry... zzzzzzzzzzzz....
