  1. Well, I guess I'm heading out to my local convenience store this morning to get started on my shopping list. Wish me luck! :AH-HA_wink:
  2. Hopes of widespread RWD from GM have recently been dashed, I'm afraid, by our dumbass politicians in Washington, D.C. CAFE certainly sanitizes any enthusiasm I had for GM's future, and the industry in general.
  3. Nav is like having a DVD screen in the steering wheel, playing your favorite movie. Wait, isn't that what the steering wheel is for? It's not? It's for driving the gosh durn car? OMG!
  4. Datsun>Toyota
  5. In the tiny Ute class, the Nissan Rogue has caught my eye. After reading the Car&Driver comparo test, then going to the Edmunds owner reviews, and finally checking one out at the (closed) dealer, this thing seems like a "best in class" as a street SUV, at least from my perspective. Sporty looks inside and out, a long list of high-tech features, sprightly performance coupled with good mpg all work to make this thing worth a closer look. I have decried the use of CVTs before, but in the Rogue, it seems to enhance performance and fuel mileage.
  6. Sooo... I guess Wawa had some gift cards left, eh? :AH-HA_wink:
  7. I have a quart jar for my change, and I'm always tickled (yes, I'm easily amused) to find out how much that jar can hold when I take it to Coinstar at my local grocery store.
  8. We've had some difficulties to overcome this year, but we made it through. I hope everyone reading this has a peaceful, happy Christmas with family and friends.
  9. Happy Birthday to XP715!
  10. Cool, Dsuupr. I remember a time when the public roads around my grandparents' farm were unpaved. Rain would turn them into slick, squirrely washboards, which would throw the old pickup truck sideways if you went too fast. I remember riding with my uncle once and we sideswiped another local farmer, knocked the mirrors off and put a scrape down the side of both trucks.
  11. Oh no, man. I hope you heal up quickly. If this happened on Friday, hopefully you saw a doctor asap. That little Datsun served you well. Did you have two of those? Is that the one I rode in when you came down to visit? The BMW is most likely hiding some structural damage, looking at what it did to your car, it has to be. I hope everything gets worked out quickly for you, Sly. Take care of yourself, kind sir.
  12. I like the G6. Here's to many happy miles.

    Roger that!

The Double-3! Have a good one, sir!
  14. Very cool story, Mr. Scharmer. And Mustangs are cool... Ford kept to their original formula more faithfully overall (although the ginormous '71-'73 and kneejerkingly tiny '74-'78 are questionable) than others in the segment... that's why no interruption in production since '64.

  16. Your 500 is the safest fullsize car in America. What's she driving? JUNK.
  17. Check out this article: Man Pays for New Truck With Loose Change 2 hours ago FRANKFORT, Ind. — Paul Brant considers himself a penny pincher, but his savings in quarters and dollar coins really paid off. Brant, 70, used more than $25,000 in change to help buy a new Dodge Ram half-ton pickup truck Friday — 13 years after buying another truck with spare change. "(The old truck) didn't have four-wheel drive, and living in the country, I figured I better get a new one to help get me through the snow," he said. Brant said he was raised to be thrifty. His father always paid in cash and saved up loose change to take vacations. Brant has been storing his change for years, and estimated he had about $26,000 in coins for Friday's purchase. In 1994, he bought a Dodge pickup and a Dodge Neon using about $36,000 in quarters. "As long as you don't put your hands back in the till, it really adds up," he said. Brant stored his change in coffee cans, water jugs and piggy banks over the years, and was escorted by sheriff's deputies as he brought the rolled coins to the dealership. A Mike Raisor Chrysler Dodge and Jeep employee who sold Brant the truck said the dealership called in an armored car to count and handle the coins. "No bank wants to take them," Keith Gephart said.
  18. Holy crap. We need an "I Survived the C&G Curse" t-shirt.

  20. Sort of a sad story, really.
  21. It can come from unburnt gasoline, a symptom of a f@#ked up carb. Unburnt gas can also ruin your catalytic converter, which in turn clogs the exhaust, robbing power. It's a never-ending cycle.
  22. Wait, Vipes, don't you already write the captions for the Cheezburger kittehs?

  24. They used to put 8-track players in cars, too. And in the 50's, you could buy a Mopar with a record turntable under the dash.
  25. You're doing it the slow way. Call her insurance company so they can act quickly to get you taken care of. Call them and ask if they have the police report, etc., see if they have everything they need to accept liability and pay for your damage.
