Curious how you can conclude this. This will compete more with the Trailblazer than the Encore. I do agree a 3-cylinder engine is strange in the Buick, and I have no doubt the Chevy will have the same powertrain options. Sigh. Everything is getting so weird. The Kia Seltos retains more of a comfortable, traditional layout. I would get the turbo, but I am a little leery of dual clutch transmissions... it feels odd in the Tucson.

Looks like a strong package for the segment. A little weird in the front, but then... so is the Trailblazer. I do like the non-chin dragging front bumper. I had my Compass airdam itched up a little bit, and that was from entryway dips, not offroading. Kind of reminds me of an old-skool Sportage from back in the day, which I think was a friendly little pup of a CUV. Could have a decent AWD system too (inference because of its worldwide sales scope). In concrusion, I think it will be a formidable competitor in the segment. I'd really like to see a size/capability comparison between this, the Trailblazer and the Compass. I understand the Seltos has about 7.2 inches ground clearance.

Yeah I would get the big block engine with 4WD and the 9 speed auto... no CVT for me.

2020 Buick Encore GX Sport Touring looks better in this video than in GM's publicity photos (no surprise!)

Toyota News: Toyota Introduces Camry and Avalon with All-Wheel Drive
ocnblu replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Toyota
Articles are stating the Encore GX is more than competitively priced with the original version they will continue to sell. Perhaps the Trax and Encore will be rebated into the entry level positions now held by Cruze, Sonic, and the late, lamented Verano. The Trailblazer, if priced reasonably (hopefully a lesson has been learnt with Blazer's sky-high MSRP) could be made to fill a lot of shoes over at Chevy stores. Maybe... if the incentives/lease deals are right, a base Trax FWD could be mom's next car, instead of a Venue. -
Selective fading? I like the caution labels. If he wrecks it, please contact GM so they can study the air cushion system for proper deployment.

Nah, I have this thing called the interwebs. I can go onto it and READ Ford Motor Company's page on, like, Facebook and stuff. And there is a multitude of other postesses over onto there too, on other pages. Not too many positive commentators over there, Bub. Maybe like 3 in Loonburg, California, but that's it.- 179 replies

Apparently, the Mustang name is now only sacred to customers, not the company that has peddled it since 1962-63.- 179 replies

Too much Tesla influence, with the giant glued-on dash tablet and the otherworldly front end. One must NEVER bow to Elon Musk. And wow, they copied the 1960 Chevy Corvair with that front trunk. Whole thing is an insult to the Mustang spirit. I'd rather drive a 1974 Mustang II Mach 1 with 2.8L V6 and 3-speed automatic than this faceless cyborg. Ford is f@#king up BIG TIME with this.- 179 replies

Not much happening with Atlas, not much happening with Passat, not much happening with ID, that's a lot of money for nothing and their chicks for free.

Very nice truck, but it ain't all that "custom". I mean, that's the bone stock STX grille and painted bumper, with a scooped hood and Pep Boys headlights added.

LOL what kind of numbnuts does that? Range Rover is junk in its purest form. He should have stuck with what works.

Except... the bustleback Seville's lid was actually pretty long, it just had its kink toward the top of the lid, not the bottom, the actual opening was not that tiny. And it lost .5 cu ft trunk space v. the previous X-body based car (14.4 v. 14.9 cu ft).
-
I could be wrong, but I believe at this moment the cutline for the trunk lid goes up into the black, so it is larger than it looks at first glance. I don't think that's all glass. WTF IS THIS? THIS IS NOT A K5! THIS RIGHT HERE IS A K5! GOD I HATE CHEVY FOR DOING THIS! oh wait
