Our 4 sp automatics are the best trannys on the market, its only matters to those than think a higher number means you win  Our interiors are not average, unless you mean average as in comparable to the rest. Pushrod v6's only matter to those that think they have discovered new tecnology by learning a few "new" words. Kinda like a little kid when he learns his first curse words. What does FWD have to do with "volumn market" problems ? If GM's mid size cars have to look like the Altima to get the rear seat room......... G6 has been bashed for rear seat room but yet dimensions have proven it to be comparable or better then others in it class. We had dimensions on the Lacrosse that showed it to be comparable or better than others in its class. Then overall dimensions only matter when a lower number means you win ? I think to many people make too much of things they have "read" or had pounded in their brains here. When GM does get around to building their next mid size platform, Im sure there will be new items to pick the cars apart for and spread the rumors. Within a decade all passenger cars are going to look like minivans in order to get the backseat whinners to stop whinning.

In the North they know. Men, woman and children living in the North know which wheels drive their cars, and they do care.

Sorry pally your still talking out your ass. Dont get mad at me because you came around spredding nonsence and I stood up to it. That story on gnttype is only page one, you have no credibility on this and have shown it but dont worry, 10 other uninformed people will read your BS and believe it, just like you apparently have. That story on gntype only takes that engine up through 88 or maybe the TP of 90, which is after 3 complete retools. It has undergone 2 more since. In fact if you had read it you would have never made your comment becasue it clearly outline in 1988 that the engine was a complete retool. No one here needs to have a problem about what ever is going on with the 38 until some uninformed like yourself pulls up and wants to start throwing nonsence and dirt, when it is clear you have no idea what you are talking about. Now are you going to tell us all about the carburated 2.8 that dates back to the late 70's as well ?.........well are you ? There is no arguement, the 38 came together and worked out real well, I doubt great engineers could even explain why, if they had the secret formula and understanding they would not have pondered for the past two decades how to build a better engine to replace it with, though they tried over and over and over. Now finally all hope is on this 3.9 but its not delievering, mileage is a bit low, torque suffered and the VVT is not working.................................................................

I see the resemblence, their both ugly, plain, cheap cars. Its a shame people see GM through these eyes.

If its not a mid size or larger Buick, Oldsmobile or Pontiac.......its sucks......just get use to it and deal with it..............

I think its absolutely volga, dirty, nasty, raunchy, sick & twisted..........hey that sounds like I was describing my ........ never mind. the car ? center stack sucks and it has cheap plastic no 12 speed slap shift automatic on the floor with a clutch no V24 wheels are too small and tires too skinny hood ornament is not larger enough its got 4 doors and a post slots in grill could be 2 mm narrower headlights could be more squarish hand grabs on back of seat should be body colored windshield trim should be monochromated steering wheel should be grey and where in the hell will they ever put an airbag with all that chromie stuff in the way ? windshield wipers do not line up properly I could go on but we've seen all this critique before I've seen much much worse and if you like it Bri all I can say is Joe that new wagon has some attributes I find appealing in todays mass of look alikes. tailight bezels, the way the rear window wind deflector is part of the body - with trim, bumpers should be chrome though. Locking gas door, chromed rear hatch handle

Notice it was called a "cigar lighter", I had a car without a "cigar lighter" my 64 Alpine, and I smoked back then too . Yes it did have heat & defog It did have an ash try and console with lot of room, no door on the "glove box" but a handle for scart passengers to grab No music.....but something about the song that engine sang, I never felt I was missing much steering wheel options ? didnt I have a post about this recently then there was some cars that had the tissue dispencer option ? the after market under dash air conditioning units ? hydrolic windows and convertable tops ? the windshild washer was a rubber boot type of bellows, pressed with the foot (at least on some models) that forced fluid out onto the windshield I dont care what anyone says those huge firm flat bench seats were comfortable as could be

Im confused here, there are two posts missing one where our very own Harley Earl guessed Abarth, heres to you Harley, , Ill put you in my "Will" another where Balthazar responded to the comments from 6t8 about the combination of a few of Mitchells edgy shark era automobiles. Anyone that could come up with other models of this type of styling, ala these particular Abarths, Toro 66/67, Riv 66/67, 67 Eldorado, Porsche 914, Cien,(off the top of my head), I believe it lives on today in A&S but even more in the 06 Camaro prototype. Anyone producing others in this catagory will also be put in my "Will" especially if it predates these 1955 Abarth Boano's.

The man came up with a pretty nice emblem you will notice the Scorpion on the rear quarter of this picture

Bit of a problem with that.........see date.

Abarth 207 A Boano - 1955 , all exported to USA, rumored 10 built, in three styles, 207A Sport, 208A a spyder with full windshield and no drivers headrest/aero tunnel, & 209A coupe featured hard dash non plastics and hand hammered aluminum "console" Fiat derived 1270cc 78hp , hey it was '55 heres how it went in 1955 @ Sebring DSQ - #80 - John Bentley/Jim McGee/Gino Valenzano* Fiat Abarth 207A Boano John Bentley 138 illegal refuelling Sports 1100.........bummer ! Incidently the '55 Sebring was won overall by a Briggs Cunningham entered (not driven) Jaguar D type (I6) in sports 5000 class Phil Hill and Carrol Shelby took second over all, first in Sports 3000 class in a Ferrari Monza 750 (may have been a big I4) Maserati 300 S (I6 6T8) took 3rd overall and 2nd in Sports 3000 class [hows that for triv ?] anyhow another source says things to the effect - he founded his company in 49, a self taught engineer, he bought the reminents of Cisitialia. First cars bearing Abarth name were infact Cisitialias, therefore some of these carried the Cisitialia badge as well as the Abarth badge, some did not. Abarth was big on exhaust and thus the reason for the sweet dual side pipes seen on this car.

OK Balthazar and 6t8 are one entire click off on the era It is Italian It is very small.....this narrows down the possibilities quite a bit....with a slight catch..but not uncommon at that time

So was this the inspiration for the Vega ? sure looks it doesnt it ? So were these headlights inspired by the 59 Buicks ? sure looks it doesnt it ? I always thought these were cute little buggers years - make and model - what, not so common of a drivetrain

fronts got a badge and Im alittle unsure how to block that kind of thing out.

So what could be done anyhow ? Sell off assets ? We've seen that before, then when the selling is done and everyone at the top had their pockets padded we have another ghost town. America is littered with them. Maybe this "kirk" needs to have a talk with this other guy named "georgie poo", maybe they can figure out how people living in this country under the American economy, can "compete" with that other economy......you know...... the "global" one. wall street antics is what has gotten this country to the current state of a mostly non productive consumer nation, they like it that way, its a machine that can not be stopped, its all about selling off assets and closing shop, why should the American auto industry be any different ? Just larger and taking longer to take down. they've just about got everyone used to the idea. If product changes what ever the problems are, I will be surprised. I think the problems are far more deeply rooted than the product and folklore surrounding the product, past and present. No matter what GM does or comes up with "new" the following week it is trumped by the low wage countries. I dont see where its that hard to read the writting on the wall. I just go on with hope because what else is there ?

This was explained in full in two different posts over the past 2 months, either you get it or you dont, I understand it so it shouldnt be that hard.....right ? The Northstar has always been a high compression high performance engine, always requireing high octane..just like the Supercharged 3800.....yet we have Jap companies claiming to out power our conventional NA engines........when in reality they are high compression, high performance engines. In the case of this 3.5 Toyota engine its power should be compared to the Supercharged 3800 to be completely fair, then suddenly the Toyota engine no longer looks so amazing...especially when the Supercharged 3800 is where its been for 10 years. Either you get it or you dont, thats entirely up to the individual, it has been spelled out so clear in so many posts.

This is a no brainer for anyone in office. Yet nothing is being done ? Is this the money talking ? Does the health care industry have so much money our own government supports their holding Americans by the balls ? Insurance companys are big Wall Street investors, is this the reason our Government allows them to control every movement of our lives and extract every last possible penny from our pockets and the pockets of our employers ? Its not just hurting our employers, its hurting our working middleclass and has put our working poor back below the standard they were living at in 1990. All raises and then some go directly to the heath insurance companys..........not a bad gig ey ? Some employers cant and dont give raises because the % of health insurance they already pay increases enough every year that they can not afford a pay increase as well........plus the employees share goes up. Thats a two speed reverse and we are in high range. Yet another part of our population enjoys great economy, has gobs and gobs of expendable cash..........wonder if they are employed by the ...............health industry ? Naw, ya think ?

You like that Fly ? I guess its pretty cool, its got that 1950 look in 1960. The hood is really kinda nice, interesting grill, headlight fenders, I suppose its probably nicer than Rapier.
