  1. We aren't Europeans, tastes are different so sales in Europe don't necessarily translate. Americans don't look at small cars the same way at all.
  2. That's why I title everything right away. Even my parts Camino is titled in my name.
  3. Yup. As usual, the problem is our fault - we removed all of the natural predation and are slacking in taking its place. As for eating the deer, I love venison. The only good deer is the one on my plate.
  4. Interesting guy ( I've met him). He is from my home town and went to high school with my Uncle.
  5. Two items to note about this (in my area): 1)The destruction of crops, landscapes, and natural understory plants is so extreme that the "Bambi syndrome" has faded down to near nothing. The fact is that the deer population is an environmental disaster that makes concerns over global warming look downright silly. Erosion is becoming an increasing concern as is the loss of habitat for many local species because the understory plants are gone. Add in pervasive Lyme disease and ever-increasing deer/car incidents, and the problem proves itself to be both a public health crisis and an environmental hazard. 2)This area is too densely populated for hunting to have any measureable effect. This leaves us with two options, and I'm fine with either one. The first is the massive re-introduction of wolves and mountain lions, the other is to herd the furry bastards into an enclosure and exterminate them.
  6. It really is time to start exterminating deer for the vermin that they are, especially in populated areas.
  7. Chairman Mao? Not one of your better quips, PCS. I know, I know, Chinese is not your first language.
  8. IIRC, two years. I always thought this notch looked clunky and awkward.
  9. I followed the link... Damn!
  10. It would be a major mistake to assume certain tigers are now toothless. No matter how big your own claws might be.
  11. I don't see any time for debate here, just reaction.

  13. Yeah, very rare. The weird part is that aftermarket versions were everywhere back then - never quite understood that.
  14. HAHA! You've got it bad!
  15. Parts cars are a good thing! Try yanking the cat off of the donor and see how it runs then. Might surprise you.
  16. Buy an Edelbrock, Satty.
  17. Aftermarket cats flow better, are cheaper, and keep you legal. Just a word to the wise.
  18. Except that they couldn't afford to do it from the get-go. Add in all of the "non-automotive" businesses these geniuses were too busy buying at the same time they were dumping money into Saturn's creation. Meanwhile, they impugned the quality of their own small cars at the established brands in promoting the Saturn "concept". Badge-engineering became rampant, and huge swaths of the lineup were allowed to wither on the vine without updates for years. Terribly skewed priorities. Stupid. That's my problem with Saturn.
  19. I'll only take issue with the bolded part of your post, the "steps" I would not dispute. I actually don't have an issue with the cars nor the concepts that represented what Saturn was. I do have a problem with the decision to create the brand in the first place, it was just another example of the gross mismangement of GM at the time. A stupid decision that permanently wounded the company and makes today's toubles just that much deeper. Ironically, much of GM's current lineup (including Saturn) are really some of the best products that the general has offered in decades. It's all too sad.
  20. Sorry to all of my fellow thinkers in this thread, I've just been way too tired to properly collect my thoughts on this at the end of each day. Survival first, philosophy later.
  21. Idiots in upper management killed Olds - no car(s) is/are responsible. Money for all of the core brands was wasted on ill-conceived adventures elsewhere.
  22. True. Funny as it sounds though, I actually don't have room for another car in the barn right now.
