  1. It needs a nose job, but that wouldn't stop me from buying one.
  2. OK, I'll give you that. But the execution leaves a bit to be desired - it looks... somehow upside-down and contrived, it tries too hard. A simple recess with embossed lettering would have been much nicer.
  3. Yup, noticed that too. I liked the flares and I think they might help the look of these new trucks.
  4. :rotflmao: Killer find!
  5. Thanks for the laugh, guys. At least FWD is good for that. :AH-HA_wink:
  6. See my previous post Mouse, and click the thumbnail for the answer.
  7. How? We are talking about reviewing ads for completed cars, not designing new ones.
  8. Hmm, I guess this really matters.
  9. Wow! long thread and huge interest for what amounts to a bread and butter type of car. I take that as a good sign. I'd say it stands a good chance against the incredibly ugly Camry. At least it appears that Chevy is bringing its fists to the fight this time. And, here's a wonder, I actually like the lines of this car. Haven't said that about too many FWD sedans- ever.
  10. This is much ado about nothing. Both the Torrent and the G5 are placeholder offerings. Yes, they should have planned for something better 5years ago, but these are better vehicles than those they replace and are nothing more than transitional product. If this indicated where Pontiac and GM were heading in the future,I'd be worried - badly. But, look at the G5 for what it really is: a cheap pacifier for the dealers, an entry level car for BPG on the cheap, and a placeholder for future models. In this light, the car's not so bad. It fills a gap and keeps a spot in the showroom warm for better things to come.
  11. The author's "plan" would be the end of GM, and quickly too. It can't and shouldn't be done. GM is reducing overlap and producing fewer and better models. The most important step has already been taken: the merging of Pontiac,Buick and GMC into a single sales channel and ,hopefully, a single entity for all intents and purposes. BPG is Chevy with some gloss and finesse, and a very good move. This is an evolutionary process and as long as the goals remain clearly focused upon, GM will gain strength. The transformation of Saturn is finally making it a viable division. Cadillac is no longer a joke (like Lincoln has become) It isn't going to happen overnight, but the change is obviously well underway. Don't judge GM's progress by such things as the placeholder G5 and the soon -to-be-extinct minivans. Look at the new stuff and what we know to be coming soon.
  12. No reflection on you,Razor. I just hated to admit that such an ugly truth was ,in fact, the truth. Sad that we're all too busy surviving to change things for the better.
  13. A flat panel would look better on both trucks.
  14. Looks like the Chevy HDs have a terrible case of chrome OD. Another point for GMC in the looks department.
  15. That's why I said likely never. Remember, it took GTO 30 years to return. I think that, barring a dramatic expansion in the coupe market, it would be safe to say Firebird will never return as a Camaro twin. The name could return someday on a very different car I suppose, way down the line. Don't hold your breath.
  16. I hate to say it, but this post is spot on. This sentance really sums it up: "Its more than obvious whats going on but we're all too weary from work, life and the whole mess its all become to do a damn thing about it so the machine grinds forward unchallenged"
  17. GM knows what has to be done and is doing it. The only question is: can they do it fast enough?
  18. We can debate the logic forever, but Firebird is just a memory now. It won't return with Camaro and likely will never return at all.
  19. Blu, I'm not saying they won't be built - it's just that I could see GM dropping that configuration to save money.
  20. Regular cab shortbeds are a rare breed these days. Sorry to say there may be reason for you to worry. Foglights only on LTZ?! That is beyond stupid. I really have mountains of hate for the people who pick what goes into each trim level and especially those inane option packages. It's bad enough on a car, but horrible on a truck - these things need to be tailored to each customer far more than any car model. This problem has ticked me off for years.
  21. I read all the posts on those two sites and this thing is HUGE! It's all over the internet, hopefully this felon goes to jail and the dealership group collapses. The guy with the truck is not the worst of their practices either. Absolute and utter scum.
  22. GM needs to put the smackdown on this character and force him to sell his franchise. Those Subaru guys have no mercy.
  23. With any luck, the hassle will waste at least 10k of salesperson time. These twits deserve all the bad PR and hassle they get. BTW: Have they caved yet?
  24. They should have left it here in Philly, it would look great moored just across the river from its sister ship the New Jersey. SF nutjobs
