  1. This one sucks!
  2. (there must be something wrong with me)
  3. Where has my sweet siren gone... did anybody save the music? Oh well...
  4. Can we keep the singing/music? It's hypnotizing... and I kinda like it! I can do without the rest...
  5. Aren't the manufacturers following California's emissions standards? So, shouldn't California sue itself for not having strict enough standards?

    Yikes!

My brother almost side-swiped some parked cars a couple days ago
  7. Only GM's is a "skateboard" chassis (self contained fuel tanks, drivetrain, breaks and suspension) with proposed optional plug-n-play bodies.
  8. Must be, I think it's a very well executed idea. 192510[/snapback] Same here, I think it has some cool capabilities... Why do you hate it?
  9. Lots of SS Cobalts and Malibus and a TB SS in the Northern New Mexico/ Southern Colorado area.
  10. So... which 6 speed is the Mercury Montego using? I only ask because I've had one as a rental for the past 2 weeks. It shifts good, but like reg commented it does suck during uphill driving. It [the Montego] needs selectable gears beyond L and D. The tranny does fine once it downshifts, but I should have to option to drop it down a gear or two when I see the need arising.
  11. The dealership can still give you the car with a full tank... this just means that GM won't be reimbursing the entire tank's worth of fuel. It's the dealership's loss, unless they decide to pass the buck and charge the remainder of the tank to the customer.
  12. I'm out of town too... won't be on much for the next month.
  13. I can back-up BV's story... our '92 Bonneville felt like it did the exact same thing. I would feel it shift through the gears 1-4, then the RPM's would drop again. Hence the feeling of an "extra" gear. I always thought it was cool, as if the car was a "5 speed"... Anyway... My buddy and I always figured it had something to do with the torque converter. Thanks for those of you who gave some insight into exactly what it is.

I kinda figured... but we do get to see the real thing soon, right?
  15. They invited members of the 200k+ mile club... that's why there are older trucks in that row, and why that red one has a big dent.
  16. Didn't the press release say something about "special early release in '08?" Would that make it an '09?
  17. Good point about the interim ride. Not like I really drive the SS much, considering it's a 2000 with 57k miles, but it's going to need a break. I was looking into a Cobalt SS (non-SC), but the headroom felt "snug" for me. Maybe i'll just pick-up a new Aveo...?

That would be very cool. ... So, I read the article and... this is what it will actually be? And it will go on sale late '07? Awesome!
  19. I'de agree that the G5 is a blatant Cobalt clone, but the Torrent has different headlights, tail-lights, some sheetmetal... sure they look similar, but nobody would say they are nearly identical.
  20. ...
  21. Very nice! The headlights are still on the "bug-eyed" side, but only at certain angles (like low-level, head-on). The rest of the exterior looks great. The interior looks sweet, and the brown leather with "wood" works fine.
  22. THANKS! (assuming cameras are aloud...)
  23. Interesting... I wish they had figure that out with ours, then maybe I could have fulfilled my dream of "pimpin" the Custom Cruiser. I really wanted to turn it into an Impala SS wagon!
  24. I don't have a solution, but I can add to this... Our '92 Olds Custom Cruiser (Caprice station wagon) also had electrical problems. The door locks would lock/un-lock, the interior lights would flicker and the radio would short while driving. The dealer never found out what was up... I wonder if it had to do with the remote keyless entry, considering it seems to effect the door locks?
