Still can't say I'm a fan of the whole knee-airbag--have felt this way since it was standard on the LS430. As a tall driver, my knees hang close to the dash in mid-size cars. Not sure I'd want my kneecaps blown out before they impact the dash LOL

Well, this isn't good. 6-speed auto w/ a 268-hp V6? That's a tough one to beat. I am a bit disappointed the 2.4L only gained 4 hp... I thought they would have bumped it up a bit more.

Test drove LaCrosse
Well, I imagine the 6-speed will help with that.

I GOT NEWS
I've been fortunate to never have a hangover.. I think once I got close, I had a dull headache. But since I can never sleep through the night (thanks insomnia!), I'm always up drinking water and peeing--helps bigtime. Not that I've had a single sip of alcohol in the LONGEST time! <_< Well, maybe I should go to my work christmas party and get drunk and puke on the principal? Nah... would never happen--I never puke LOL

Buick Advertising
I had a slightly interesting thought towards portraying Buick's quiet... maybe a family in the car, and a mom in the seat sewing... while sewing, a pin falls out of her blanket, and in slow motion, you see it falling, and then chime as it hits the center console on its way down (I'd say wait til it hits the floor, but you can't hear it on a carpet). The mother looks down and says, "Hmmm..." Then they could have a voiceover say something like, "Buick. Silence keyed by QuietTuning." and then have the same chime sound that the pin made. Okay, so my ideas need work. How about this one? Rappers with boomboxes walking down the street, pounding music--people in cars around are covering their ears because it's so loud. But the confident Buick driver has a smile on his face. The a voiceover comes up and says, "Buick... mutha fuckin quiet yo." LOL or something to that affect

How did you like the Slatestone color? Regarding the gauges, they are very nice in the LaCrosse, elegant, however, I still hate the way they are illuminated! Ditto on the illumination of the Lucerne although the blue color is more pronounced there. Not sure I'm fond of the red needles though.

Lexus to launch compact model in '08
They aren't seriously going to call it the BS, are they?! My God, that's worse than what would have happened if Buick kept the "LaCrosse" in Canada. :P

Toyota launches new vehicle 'Belta' in Japan
Thegriffin, Having spoken and studied Italian for MANY years, it is very common for 1 word in one language to mean an entire phrase in Italian or vice-versa. For example, the word "piacere". We say it means to "like" something. It doesn't translate like that. It's literal translation is "to be pleasing to". When one says, "Mi piace..." we tell kids it means "I like." In reality, if you look at the structure of it, it's the third-person singular form of the verb... and "mi" means "to me". The whole phrase means "It is pleasing to me." Another example... a word that I've been trying to find a definition for in English.. the closest I can come to is "Chalkboard shelf" (the shelf that holds chalk, chalkboard erasers, etc.) In Italian, it is "cimosa", which is just one word. And yet another example.... how many times a student will say to me, "Mr. Guastella? How does this mean "I am eating" if in Italian it is only 1 word?" In Italian, if you say "mangio", you are saying one of 3 things: "am I eating" if there's a question mark, "I am eating" or "I eat." Languages to not translate word for word. Hence why many online translators do not work correctly. According to your second definition, "2 donna molto bella: Cara beltà che amore / lunge m'inspiri (LEOPARDI Alla sua donna 1-2)", it refers to a woman ("dear beauty that I love), who is very beautiful and then quotes lines from works of Giacomo Leopardi (an Italian author from the time period that I can't think of the name of! lol (1800's in Italy)), so therefore it is not unheard of the world belta` meaning a phrase to take or give pleasure. After all, I may be gay, but I am sure many will agree a woman can give a man pleasure ;)

~ ~ ~ Kamp Krusty
*music and scenery resembling the show Cheers* "When the weight of the world has got you down and you wanna end your life. Bills to pay, a dead-end job, and problems with the wife. Well don't throw in the towel cause there's a place right down the block... where you can drink your miseries away. At Fla-ming Moes... Where liquor in a mug, can warm you like a hug. Happiness is just a Flaming Moes away.... Happiness is just a Flaming Moes away." *music ends and Barney walks in* Crowd: "BARNEY!!" Woody-type character: "How's the world treating you Mr. Gumble?" Barney: "BELCH!!!!"

Toyota launches new vehicle 'Belta' in Japan
Okay, so beltà means something along the lines of a beauty that gives someone pleasure. Something like that... it's one of those fun little Italian things where they have a word and a verb tense for LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

Toyota launches new vehicle 'Belta' in Japan
Okay... "belta`" does not translate to "beauty" that is bellezza. Secondly, "belta`" is a word, you MUST put the accent mark. Thirdly, Sicilian is WAY different than Italian--so different it's considered another language. I'll have to look up belta` in my dictionary (the one I bought in Rome--not an Italian/English dictionary, but an actual dictionary which defines things) and get back to you.

While I love the next gen Escalade interior--I like the way Lincoln styles their interiors--it gives me a sense of American luxury... However, I won't make any judgements until I see some pics. I still also feel I need to see more of the Escalade interior to really appreciate it. I bet it's better than the few pics I've seen so far.

Buick LaCrosse Sales Up!
Well, that explains why I now see one or two a week rather than last year when I saw one or two a season if I was lucky :)

Okay, having an idea what the answer is to this question, I'll ask it anyway: Why is it I haven't heard about this before now?

2006 Buick Lucerne CXS V8
WHOAH.... Buick did not kill Oldsmobile... Oldsmobile had several problems with it--and it was GM that killed Oldsmobile. Buick is not stealing sales from Pontiac at all--first of all, Pontiac has the G6... coupe, sedan and soon convertible... Buick does not have a coupe or convertible in its ENTIRE lineup. Secondly, Pontiac has the Solstice, a really cool roadster that is getting tons of rave reviews. Buick has no roadster. Pontiac has the GTO--a hi-performance coupe. Buick? Uh, yeah, right again, nothing. So... Buick has 1 vehicle that was JUST introduced this year that is getting good reviews. And it has the Rendezvous which has had unexpected popularity. That's it. I just don't think it's fair to say Buick killed off Pontiac. As for Buick being a luxury car division, well, entry luxury yes. Luxury right now? No--that's Cadillac. Down the road when Cadillac bumps up the scales, then Buick will move up too--at least that's how I see it.

2006 Buick Lucerne CXS V8
I recall someone (thought it was you Fly), who suggested that GM's navigation was getting upgraded or something and that was the cause for the late release... anyone have any info on that?

Consumer panel review of the Lucerne
Well, are AWD sedans on the horizon for Buick? I know that Cadillac is going that route... it'd be a shame to not have FWD/AWD on the flagship Buick sedan.
