    Two for One

I assume Buick will have 2 sedans...the Epsilon II LaCrosse (what's the big deal with Epsilon II vs. Epsilon I, anyway?) and a Zeta-based Lucerne replacement eventually...
  2. i would classify Jeeps with the uniframe design (unibody with welded-on trame) like the Grand Cherokee, Liberty, XJ Cherokee and Commander as SUVs. They are true SUVs, not truck-based and not car based.. the Comanche was a truck, but it's been gone for 20 years...

    Camaro V8

    Agreed... a V6 with about 250 hp, a standard V8 with 300 hp (SS trim?) , and a high-end V8 with 400 hp (Z-28 trim?) makes sense...
  4. Love the wheels... the best aspect of the overall design of the Commodore/G8 styling IMHO are the taut proportions... short front overhang, plenty of front wheel to front door distance...the look says RWD...a complete break from the awkward Grand Prix and it's long FWD overhang and way-too-short wheel to door distance... I think the G8 will be a great Charger competitor...much better looking than the Charger, IMHO...and hopefully with an available 6-speed manual. For all the whiners, f*ck 'em...they can buy Grand Prixs and spin their front tires.
  5. When I lived in the Midwest, I drove RWD cars with snow tires on all four wheels in the winter..it was pretty effective..usually had a couple sand bags in the trunk to weigh the back end down. In Colorado, I've driven 4x4 SUVs for the last 9 winters with good winter tires...4x4 is very effective in snow, esp. on hills and deep snow where the ground clearance makes a difference. In either RWD or 4WD, the biggest winter advantage is good snow tires, IMHO. I'm always amazed at how so many drivers fail to grasp the basics of physics as far how to brake and steer on snow and ice..
  6. Greenlight also has a very nice Camaro concept out ...a bit larger scale than the HW... it's available in black, silver, red, and orange w/ black stripes (and different wheels). Opening hood also.
  7. Interesting..looks restorable.. you have to wonder about ebay sellers that don't bother to clean up a car before trying to sell it, though..the interior is filthy, as is under the hood..
  8. I guess it depends when the cookies expire, but I usually log in and stay logged in (even if I shut the browser) for days at a time..
  9. From what I've read, all three of these (Enclave,Outlook,Acadia) sound like excellent vehicles..I saw an Outlook briefly in traffic last week...I can't wait to see all 3 in person. Judging just by the pics, the Enclave is my favorite, I like the curvy styling and interior details...
  10. Cool...I'd like to see one built with the Crewman body.
  11. That's what I would assume... I assume Toyota has fewer because they have fewer platforms.
  12. Well, that's what's been rumored a lot...but they haven't shown anything official yet. I'm assuming it won't be a rebadged Caprice or Commodore but something new and different.
  13. As an option, yes...I wonder how many AWD 300s and Magnums Chrysler sells relative to RWD ones.. Then again, Ford sells Crown Vics, GMs, and Town Cars without AWD... RWD with traction control seems to be a viable alternative to AWD these days...I certainly see a lot of RWD cars around here (Denver) and we definitely get the snow and ice, esp. this winter (though I won't be getting rid of my 4WD Jeep anytime soon)..
  14. Scion is supposed to be cheap, young and hip, while Yaris and Corolla fill the cheap and utilitiarian roles...
  15. Anyone have those wheelbases in inches?
  16. Interesting...I would think automakers (any automaker) would have standardized firewalls across a platform---I would think they would be same on all the GM W-bodies, same on the Epsilons, etc..
  17. Agreed... love the design...the interior detail, exterior details, rear, greenhouse, the whole package...kind of the dream Cadillac.
  18. Exactly... buying used cars with a lot of miles is buying someone elses problems, IMHO.. money pits..
  19. Sounds like desperation.
  20. They might keep the FWD Impala as an Impala Classic or something for 6 months to a year after the RWD model comes out, though...like they did with the previous Malibu...(that is, if they can build Zetas and Ws at the same time)>
  21. The Fusion wasn't included because it's not new....the article stated the theme of the comparisons was how do the new-for-07 models (Aura, Altima, Camry, Kia, Sebring) stack up against the Accord. Hence, no Malibu, Fusion, Stratus, Sonata, etc...
  22. Maybe it's 'Ricky Frank', like 'Ricky Bobby'..
  23. Right..that's quite understandable...I certainly wouldn't buy a used car with 100k miles when I could afford a cheap new car, that's just common sense. The only way I could trust a car with 100k miles to be reliable is if I put those miles on it myself..
  24. My guess is the most likely NA Zeta-based models will include the Impala, Camaro, G8, next Lucerne, and next DTS..
  25. The problem with those choices is those are all used cars with lots of mileage on most.... what Toyota is talking about is cheap, reliable new cars, not used cars.. The cheap new car is that market niche Hyundai used to gain traction in the US...
