  1. You misinterpreted my posts...I like the '70 GTO and it's wing....my point was for Pontiac to put scoops and a big wing on the G6 is consistent with what they have done in the past...that's all. It's nothing new for Pontiac to do flashy styling...look at the '70 Judge, the late '70s Trans Ams, the '90s Trans Ams and Grand Ams, etc...the G6 GXP is another interation of the flashy side of Pontiac....
  2. It sounds like they have made a lot of mechanical improvements and changed the styling. Too bad they dropped the hatchback styles.
  3. So far, I have to say it looks great inside and out...I really like what I've seen of the interior, with the wood and two-tone. (I hate the look of fake carbon fiber as much as real carbon fiber). I like what I've seen of the exterior, would like to see it in silver or a dark blue. I like the wheels also.
  4. So Subaru has dropped the Saab tribute grille theme that they were pursuing with the Tribeca and Impreza?
  5. Good question...or how about if I drove it in my daily commute (which since my company moved offices, is now 0.4 miles each way)?
  6. Maybe...of course, big wings on cars aimed at the youth market are nothing new to Pontiac...how about what they offered in '70? (I'll admit to being a total modernist on most all things automotive, but those oldies sure have great style, IMHO).
  7. Ugh... compacts with automatics...what an awful combination.
  8. Maybe Pontiac was stung by the reception of the subtle GTO and are applying some retro like their '70s and '90s styling themes...the '70 GTO Judge with it's wing and hood scoops and '70s Trans Ams weren't exactly subtle, nor were the '90s T/As and Grand Ams...
  9. I wonder what kind of stuff...bad stuff or the good stuff.. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. I'm sure the aggro, overblown looks will appeal to people that miss the look of the Grand Ams of the '90s...
  11. Torrential. It needs a Monsoon sound system to go with the theme...
  12. Not really. Too rounded, and the Fusion/Edge/'08 Five Hundred look is 3 flat bars...
  13. Me too...I didn't like the blobby lights and fish mouth look of the '98-02 cars...
  14. Nope..the 3rd gen had regular-size rectangulars...the 4th had smaller ones, like used on some Grand Prix, Cutlass, etc models..
  15. I wonder when the Crown Vic gets the Fusion facelift...
  16. Hmm...I know a few North Dakotans...I work with a few..but they've moved to Denver and Phoenix....don't know any South Dakotans. I've never been to either Dakota, but driven across Nebraska...too rural and empty for my tastes, though I would like to see Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills sometime.
  17. I guess their target demographic is old enough to still use tapes frequently..
  18. Cadillac's new image hasn't yet achieved any traction in Europe... I think the general European perception of Cadillac is giant, chromey finned older American cars (think '59 Eldo) and Elvis...at least that's how a couple of European friends of mine put it...
  19. Chill out...'OHV' has been the standard term used by the media and in regular use for decades for pushrod engines. IBC is a brand of root beer.
  20. Right...Cadillac needs a compact RWD sedan that is competitive in the big leagues at home and abroad.
  21. Mee too...I'm hoping for a 2009 Camaro TDi...
  22. I like how they moved the shifter onto the dash..very international.
  23. I like it, it's as much a 'real' Cadillac as the Escalade....
  24. Not quite..the Cimmaron looked like a Cavalier, had the same basic dash, etc. This car has it's own dash, unique sheetmetal, etc... though the DTS shares a platform with the Lucerne, I wouldn't call it a Buick rebadge..
  25. They are sold in Mexico also, which explains the one I saw in LA last year..
