  1. Hmm..what's a 'Winstorm'? The opposite of a 'Failstorm', I presume?
  2. Some guy down the street from my g/fs condo got a 2wd Dakota backwards off the street down a hill and through a fence....driving a 2wd pickup on the snow and ice is insane...
  3. Sweet car..don't see ones of that era in nice shape that often..the '73 was probably the best looking of the '73-77s, great rear end with the relatively small bumper..
  4. I think a lot of people on here still want it to be 1970.. notgoingtohappen.
  5. Yep..got all those..haven't seen the Camaro in purple though..it looks great in black, IMHO. I wonder if they will do a '69 coupe also. Their classic '68 coupe (kind of simplified, but it's one of the original Hot Wheels castings from '68) is back out now also, in black.
  6. True enough..the rear ends are very, very similar, as is the greenhouse...the big styling differences are in the proportions--one a proper RWD and the other an awkward FWDer..
  7. True enough...I was steering my Jeep with the throttle yesterday..kind of fun to drift a 4500 lb SUV when there is no one else around.. More snow here today..18 degrees right now.
  8. Good question..since the 5.3 OHV is being used in the dubyas, it's a possibility for a FWD application..
  9. By the way, Hot Wheels also makes the '70 in orange as well..I've got the new one and the '70 together on my desk at home..
  10. Consumer Reports no doubt helps, what with Lexus' reliability/quality reputation golden and M-B's fecal brown these days...
  11. Cool..I'll try and hit some of the local stores this weekend. Or snag 'em off ebay.
  12. Kind of odd they are announcing it now for 9 months away, since the '07 MY just started...
  13. Mine stayed inside, away from the snow...had my Jeep in full-time 4wheeldrive the last few days. Though if I had to, I could always put a set of snow tires on my BMW and drive it the snow..
  14. The way I viewed the article is that Lexus didn't fail..coming in last in the big leagues isn't failure, more a difference of focus. The Lexus is more focused on luxury and passenger comfort, isolation, than driver involvement...more like a traditional American luxury sedan than a European one. The European cars in the test are more serious about having sports sedan qualities (driver focus, handing, road feel, etc) mixed in with the luxury.
  15. Yeah, I'm afraid it's probably only wide enough for two American-width bucket seats.. maybe the 'Fit' should have been called the 'Fat' for the US...
  16. It would be nice if the SS had some distinctive trim..like an exclusive grille design, taillights, etc..
  17. The future isn't necessarily going to be pretty, I'm afraid.
  18. I have the Challenger and five variations of the Mustang, haven't seen the Camaro yet (no Kmarts around here, though I may turn one up at Target or Wal-Mart).
  19. Agreed..as a secular humanist/atheist/functional realist, I think people need to keep their religous beliefs to themselves, IMHO..it has no place in public life... If I were sworn into office, I'd swear on a tome like Donald Knuth's 'The Art of Computer Programming, Vol. I' or a calculus book..things I consider to contain the truth.
  20. Yes, it does seem a bit short-sighted to leave the market completely... Chrysler, Toyota and Honda still build competitive models in this market, why can't GM??
  21. The fenders probably weigh 200 lbs a piece (it's a 6000 lb truck, right?).
  22. They did something strange to the rear bumper..made it squared off and wierd. I noticed the same thing on the Tahoe Hybrid pics a while back.
  23. It's probably better to leave that niche to Pontiac (Torrent) or GMC.. A big luxury coupe/convertible (Zeta based, not an Epsilon like the G6) would be nice for Buick..but that would probably overlap with a possible CTS coupe/convertible..
  24. It hit here (Denver) Tuesday night...snowed off-and-on all day Wed..got about 6 inches..my company closed the offices Wed at 2. Got cold Wed night (below zero)..it's been warming up into the 30s yesterday and today.. In sharp contrast, I was in NE Ohio last Wed-Sun for Thanksgiving--unbelivable--5 days of sun, 3 days over 60! I was in Cleveland Sunday and saw convertibles w/ the tops down..that is extremely rare late November weather for NE Ohio.
