  1. I have a feeling they designed the platform to be adaptable to Hybrid or EV down the road. The competition are all offering Hybrid and EV sports cars...
  2. Seems very short-sighted thinking on the Detroit 3's part. I don't see the Japanese and Korean companies getting out of the sedan market. When the CUV/SUV fad fades, the Detroit 3 are going to be hurting due their usual short-sighted thinking...
  3. I was on the Ohio Turnpike and the PA Turnpike yesterday, one odd thing I noticed was you pay when you go into PA from Ohio instead of taking a ticket (in Ohio you get a ticket when you enter the turnpike, pay when you get off). It's been a long time since I've been on the PA Turnpike, but it seemed pricy compared to the Ohio Turnpike.
  4. Saw a blue and white Corvair Greenbrier pickup and white Volvo P1800 coupe. Both very clean. Saw a funny accident—-a Prius has rear ended a late model black Tacoma. What was funny was the Tacoma had a huge ‘REDNECK NATION’ logo on the rear window. A poser I guess, I don’t think real rednecks drive Toyotas.
  5. 2016 was the last year of the 2nd gen LaCrosse, another factor is how much you like the styling of that generation inside and out vs the 3rd generation (2017 and newer).
  6. Saw a bright green 6th gen Camaro ZL1 and a bright orange C7 Z06 in traffic last night....great exhaust notes from both..they were going light-to-light revving and trying to out-accelerate. Too much traffic to cut loose, though. Also saw a sharp copper '67 Dodge Dart GTS 2dr ht.
  7. GM already dropped midsize truck sales by 100% in the 2/3 year gap between the 1st and 2nd gen Colorado/Canyon, so there is precedent.
  8. Maybe they live in an apartment or condo.
  9. I liked some of the 80s-early 90s ones. Today they are just styleless machines that either sit in garages and are rarely driven, or catch fire when they are driven. And all that hideous carbon fiber trim---barf.
  10. Looks like a photoshop rendering...kind of looks like the current Tahoe body with an XT6-ish nose grafted on.
  11. Since Ram and Jeep are so strong, they can support two small brands (if they jettison the walking dead Italian brands).
  12. The Telluride center stack area reminds me of some BMWs....looks good inside and out.. have seen a couple around, in that green.
  13. If the Dodge brand is still around in 5 years, it will just be the Charger and Challenger I suspect.
  14. Dana, Maumee, Ohio. My sister is working a consulting gig there...sounds like their IT organization has issues from many acquisitions of other companies.. Some trucks have tilt beds, this is the tilt frame option...
  15. After torrential rains and flooded streets yesterday, today was beautiful...high only 76...went most of the day w/ the A/C off and windows open. Work was sucktastic (dealing with incompetence of the India and Barbados teams I work with), but a drive out to walk along Lake Erie soothed my weary soul...
  16. Went out to stroll along the lake after work today, weather was so nice. Such a change after yesterday's torrential rains. In a body shop I saw behind their front glass window a bright red Fiat X1/9, and later as I neared home had a sharp late Corvette C3 (80-82 style) behind me, white w/ a white interior, black windshield frame, and black or tinted t-top panels.
  17. Not interesting. Would be way more interesting to see a team with an engine developed w a US car maker and US driver, as has been done in F1 in the past.
  18. Yeah, but they aren't using a US developed car or engine, or US drivers, so it's insignificant. Just a US funding source.
  19. The last few days were pretty hot and so humid here...high as 96 on Saturday. My glasses would fog over when I stepped onto the back patio. Not quite as gross as 115-120 in Phoenix summers, but bad enough. Supposed to be 70s-80s this week. 64 and rainy at 10 am now...loving it
  20. Ah, ‘Arkon’—-nickname for Akron, a city near me in NE Ohio. For some reason, I’ve used that nickname for decades. Saw a very clean 90-92 Cadillac Brougham today, dark blue w dark blue top, dark window tint, whitewalls and wires. Classy.
  21. And of course a long time ago Ford had an engine that was very successful in Indy Car and Formula 1, the Cosworth-Ford DFV.
  22. I'd want that green convertible w/ the tan interior. I'll have to check out the configurator. The bronze would look good w/ a brown interior. I love how many exterior and interior colors are available.. one combo I do like is Elkhart Lake Blue w/ ultra bright trident spoke wheels w/ 3LT trim and Natural Dipped (tan) interior. The Morello red interior looks great also, would work well with the exterior in Shadow Gray. Sweet... The C8 is one of those cars I think will look great in person...withholding styling judgement until I can walk around one (and hopefully sit in one).
  23. Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so I took her out to dinner tonight at our favorite seafood restaurant, Pier W. Took Uber Black to get there and back...on the way there, the driver had a 2016 Escalade ESV...very comfortable, loads of leg and headroom in the 2nd row. On the way back, the driver had a 2016 Lincoln MKS. Had an interesting conversation w/ the driver, said he bought it new but at 25k and 50k miles the engine had to be replaced each time under warranty due to some failure. had 70k on it now. Comfortable ride. He's planning on trading it on a Navigator in the next year, for the new Uber Black SUV series (currently there is Uber Black and Uber Select for the more premium rides, sounds like the SUVs in Uber Black will get their own categorization as Uber Black SUV). View from our table
  24. Interesting. There is a Doug Chevrolet dealer here in Arkon.
  25. Went and saw a concert of The Psychedelic Furs last night, another of my favorite 80s post-punk synth pop British bands..great evening...
