  1. Ah, yeah it is different when I compare the pics...that shit all looks the same to me at first glance...
  2. Happy Birthday!
  3. I miss Pontiac and Oldsmobile..always liked their products as a kid. The ones I wanted as a teenager in the 80s were the '84 Hurst/Olds in silver or a Trans Am GTA....but being in a Ford family, I got a Mustang GT.
  4. Since only Chevy and Buick are using the long wheelbase, I can see them doing something from GMC and Cadillac (XT7) on it. Got to fill the gaps. In today’s CUV heavy market, I can see them doing this and being successful at it.
  5. 1980 Impala, looks like. The '81-85 had a different grille. The Cadillac could be anywhere from '80-84 for a CdV..
  6. Yes, it's just a lease appliance for upscale suburban moms, targeting the RX...should do well with that niche. Not an enthusiast vehicle.
  7. HahaL...true, the Jeep will still have a proper platform I assume... from what I've read, they aren't going w/ the stretched Stelvio platform plan but a revised version of WK2 (as WK3) with short and long wheelbase versions...2021 supposedly.
  8. Unusual to see a Cadillac w/ horizontal headlights..been a while. The kick up in the quarter window reminds of where Jeep has been going w/ recent designs like the Renegade and Compass. I bet the next Grand Cherokee greenhouse will resemble this.
  9. One thing Ram and the other full size truck brands excel at is configurability...lots of options and variations.
  10. No different than Ford doing the Super Duty Platinum or GMC doing the Sierra HD Denali. There is a market for it..
  11. Trying to say something positive...I do like the brown color and the wheels. Like the interior colors also.
  12. The problem is GM won't invest in a proper RWD platform to take on Lincoln and the Europeans....so they cheaped out and put a fresh body and interior on a generic appliance platform... reheated rancid meat w/ new toppings. Lazy, lazy, lazy.
  13. Should be competitive w/ the MDX and RX, though. Just another AWD/FWD/transverse engine lease appliance gap-filler, nothing aspirational. The Aviator seems way more compelling.
  14. Interesting that they went with the short Acadia/Blazer wheelbase on this (according to the Car & Driver article). I guess they are saving the longer Traverse/Enclave wheelbase for a future XT7. C&D called out the interior materials as being cheap and common. How does it look in person?
  15. It wouldn't surprise me if they add another appliance in there. Just like they will probably add a Cadillac XT7 on the Traverse/Enclave wheelbase above the new XT6. Is that the FNR Carryall concept for China? Looks like it.. https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1119939_chevy-previews-future-suv-styling-with-fnr-carryall-concept
  16. From what I’ve read, it’s on the Acadia/Blazer wheelbase. I guess they are saving the longer Enclave/Traverse wheelbase to do an XT7 later.
  17. Ugh..on my Jeep, from what I've seen on the Facebook WK2 group is the entire front fascia has to be removed to replace headlight bulbs. It was simpler on my old WJ, though in 17 years of ownership, I never had to replace the headlight bulbs (had to polish out the plastic covers which discolored from the sun a couple times). Had to replace the taillight bulbs and brake light bulbs several times (those were easy).
  18. Maybe they think that will help boost Model 3 sales.
  19. Funny about that. She drove it this morning, seemed fine. Got home, a few hours later when we went out to get the Trax noticed it was flat. Called AAA, they put on the donut spare--it was flat also. Not sure what happened w/ the tire, didn't see any nails, etc. Drove it down to the independent shop she uses to have it checked out (they put the tires on new back in September), going to get the shocks, struts, etc replaced, and a few other anomalies checked out (airbag light is on, it's really loud at idle, etc).
  20. Saw a new Ranger today...crew cab 4x4 in that orange/gold color in front of the showroom of the local Ford dealer..looks good.
  21. One day shy of a month and the Trax is back home. Estimate was $3150, total came to $4500. USAA paid for it all, incl. refunding the deductible since the other driver was at fault.
  22. The interior materials don't impress either for the price. I've ridden in a Model S a couple times a few years ago, they don't seem overly luxurious...a big German sedan or big Cadillac is way nicer inside, IMO.
  23. VWAG have a bunch of EVs about to enter production from VW, Porsche, Audi... Ford had the Focus Electric, not much else.
  24. I never really got used to the Arizona summers. Loved my pool, though. I find I'm healthier in a more maritime climate..love having 4 distinct seasons and all the greenery and water. I don't miss the dust, heat and sun.
