  1. Funny thing is for the more 'exotic' type cars, about the only ones that interest me are some of the 911s (which really aren't that exotic, I suppose) and the NSX...less likely to catch fire or be maintenance nightmares like the Italians or Brits.
  2. Not sure..this is smaller, below the Rogue Sport/Qashqai. Which is smaller than the Rogue. Maybe the same platform as the Juke... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Kicks So for the US the Nissan SUV/CUV range for Nissan will be (top to bottom): Armada, Pathfinder, Murano, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Kicks.
  3. The small crossover niche seems to be really a fast growing market... saw the CH-R up close at the auto show, I guess it will fill the void left by the Juke for oddest looking small SUV...
  4. The Nissan Kicks is replacing the Juke. Though maybe they should have spelt it 'Kix'.
  5. I was trying to stay realistic on price and drivability and avoiding the exotic stuff...while the McLaren or Aston would be fun on a track, on potholed Ohio roads they would be a PITA...the Navigator would be a stretch but doable as a lease probably.
  6. Got a 5th one---this could be fun---2018 Kia Stinger w/ the TTV6 in the bright blue.
  7. Have to think some more..really couldn't come up with five that meet the criteria. There are plenty that are carried over from previous years that I'd own, and maybe some of the upcoming 2019s, but not much for '18 that is really new or facelifted..
  8. Ok...new or facelifted for 2018. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2dr--open air offroad fun Lincoln Navigator Black Series (silver blue w/ lt blue interior)--luxury cruiser for road trips Buick Regal Tour-X (comfy practical daily driver) Ford Mustang Bullitt--I still like green Mustangs
  9. Huh? The Bolt, ESV and CTS-v are unchanged from 2017. The GC Trackhawk is a new trim level, but the Trailhawk is carried over from 2017. 'New for 2018' I would understand would be new or redesigned models like the Regal Tour-X, Regal Sportback, Navigator, etc... Anyway, I need to put some thought into my own list.
  10. Could be from the mirror universe, like in Star Trek.
  11. Probably the 8 series Gran Coupe or a 9 series. The previous 6 series Gran Coupe was a sharp car.
  12. Neat...so cars with speakers in the back seat like that..was that a 2 speaker set up, with one on top of the dash also?
  13. I sat in the ATS, CTS and CT6 at the auto show this past Saturday, and one thing I remember was one car with a center stack with a glossy black surface and a bunch of little silver tabs w/ no labeling.. I assume the labels for controls only show when lit up w/ the engine running or in accessory mode? I think it was the CTS...
  14. The way I understand the naming scheme for MB CUVs/SUVs is that the GLB is the 'B' as it is the GL to the B-class, like the GLA is the GL to the A-class, GLC is the GL to the C-class, GLE is the GL to the E-class, GLS is the GL to the S-class... And the 'GL' prefix is shorthand for CUV.... (from the German Geländewagen, "cross country vehicle", i.e. the name of the G-wagen aka G-class). Simple and clear, right ?
  15. The dash is pretty consistent with recent Lexus themes, and the gauge pod is reminiscent of designs going back to the original IS/Altezza 20 years ago..
  16. Ok, so this is Lexus' competitor for the BMW X1/X2 and M-B CLA, just another forgettable lease lux appliance...
  17. That pic is of the current E-class interior, looks like. The GLB or whatever it will be called hasn't been unveiled yet, so any pictures purporting to be it are suspect at this point...
  18. The Ioniq does look more like a normal hatchback, it lacks the Prius' distinctive weirdness. One odd detail I noticed on one at the auto show Saturday is the door handles and bright trim around the side windows was a dull silver, rather than shiny chrome, which is different...
  19. At the auto show this weekend, I saw 3 trim levels of the Envision, IIRC the stickers ranged from $39k to $49k...
  20. Spent a few hours wandering around the Cleveland Auto Show yesterday, took a few pics, but mostly enjoyed taking in the new cars...huge crowd being it was a rainy Saturday afternoon. Highlights included the '19 Corvette ZR-1 convertible in orange, a Camaro ZL-1 in blue, the new Navigator in silver blue w/ light blue interior, the Continental in dark blue w/ light blue interior. Many of the Cadillacs were locked, couldn't sit in them...a bummer. The Lexus LC is quite wild looking in person. Really liked the Regal Sportback and Tour-X. Today was nice and sunny, took a drive up the Lake Erie Coast to see lighthouses in Dunkirk, NY and Erie, PA....saw a dark red G8 GXP and a current silver Nissan GT-R in Dunkirk. Drove out to Presque Isle, PA in Erie, beautiful beaches and park. The old Dodge truck was parked in front a winery near the PA-NY state line. Lots of wineries to explore up there.
  21. Almost saw an accident yesterday...going down a major 4 lane street w/ lot of potholes...cop was up ahead, parked in the right lane, lights on, parked behind a car he'd pulled over...partially in the street, partially on the curb...car in front of me dodges a pot hole and almost veers into the cop as he is getting out of his car...
  22. When I was looking at buying a house in Denver back in '05-07, I was looking at 2500 sq ft split levels and ranches, 60s-70s construction on decent sized lots, in the $350-450k range...same houses now are $500-750k.
  23. I know there is a lot of work in NJ/NYC area, I get headhunters pinging me about gigs there all the time.. if I wasn't working out of my house and couldn't find something in CLE/CMH/PITT, I'd consider looking at the East Coast and fly out and back every week (if I could get a high enough rate to offset travel expenses). My sister did that for 15 years from Arizona--traveling all over the country and to the UK...but the life of a road warrior consultant is always intense.
  24. Wow...NJ is notoriously high for taxes, isn't it? Probably higher valuation also. To put it in perspective, the 1200 sq ft house in Phoenix was valued at $320k, my Ohio house at $165k.
  25. Higher in Cuyahoga County...I have a 2700 sq ft house on a quarter acre lot and its a little over $4200/yr..
