  1. Neat... I like how the Charger had bucket rear seats. IIRC, I've read the early Barracuda fastbacks also had a fold down rear seat w/ trunk access.
  2. They were going for a consistent rear end with their other 4 seat 2drs--E-class, S-class, AMG GT all have similar rounded tails with horizontal lights, for better or for worse...
  3. We know, you can only appreciate vehicles that can seat NBA players or NFL linebackers. You can't seem to comprehend that not everyone wants or needs a 6000lb SUV.
  4. And BMW and M-Bs SUVs are RWD/AWD SUVs, not generic FWD/AWD transverse engine CUV appliances...(not talking about the entry level shit like the X1 and GLA, but the good stuff). GM doesn't even have a RWD/AWD SUV unibody platform; so Cadillac gets stuck with the FWD/AWD transverse engine CUV appliances..
  5. Considering M-B is generally perceived as the world standard of the luxury market, comparisons will be inevitable..
  6. A RWD 2dr convertible has 'no passion'?? BS. Cadillac needs something like this...something fun instead of more boring, bland transverse engine FWD CUV lease appliances....
  7. The 6 window greenhouse with the quarter window in the C-pillar is the easiest way at a glance to distinguish a CT6 from a CTS in profile. V-series models usually have blacked out grilles. Makes sense for the V-Sport trim. I'm sure the regular CT6 will have a bright grille. The 6 window greenhouse with the quarter window in the C-pillar is the easiest way at a glance to distinguish a CT6 from a CTS in profile. Cadillac has done 6 window greenhouses before; in the 50s and early 60s, so it's not unprecedented. It's simplistic and conformist to say the quarter window 'belongs' on the rear door.
  8. That's GM. I assume future Cadillac crossovers will use the generic platforms Chevy, GMC and Buick use for their crossovers...Cadillac should have a dedicated RWD-based platform for its CUVs, and leave the commodity FWD crud to Chevy, GMC, and Buick.
  9. I got through my first Ohio winter in 24 years without more than a cold, no ear infections or sinus infections like I used to get. But my joints have felt the wear and tear of living in a multi-story house for the first time in almost 30 years...
  10. Yes, but it's still built on a transverse engine FWD-origin platform, nothing special...
  11. Yes, but Cadillac's reality is different than M-Bs; Cadillac has to use GM platforms, which means FWD crossovers...
  12. Anyone have any sales figures for the current-gen Mondeo (Fusion) in Europe? Wonder how it is doing there.. I know it didn't come out until a year or two after the NA version...
  13. I've dabbled in building and collecting model kits (and die cast) since childhood. I've got the latest releases, as well as kits that are 60 yrs old in my collection. I have a spare bedroom full of them in my house and more in my storage unit.
  14. Nice to see Cadillac making a DOHC V8 sedan again.. interesting change in the taillights and deck lid trim. I like the brown seats, but hold the carbon fiber trim. I wonder if we will see this engine in the CTS-V or whatever the next midsize performance sedan is called? (CT5-V?). Since it's being built at Bowling Green, one can speculate a variation of this engine will power the next Corvette..
  15. Pretty light 2nd MCE...new front fascia, grille and lighting.. yawn.
  16. Different niche, though.... the Mercs and BMWs are serious RWD/AWD SUVs as opposed to appliance FWD/AWD CUVs like the XT5, RX, and Nautilus.
  17. The XT5 being a commodity lease appliance doesn't need a V8; competitors like the Lexus RX and Nautilus don't have V8s..
  18. The key to owning something like the Continental is a lease...I wouldn't buy one. Drive it 3 years then move on. Or maybe a CPO w/ extended warranty. I wouldn't want to have any modern electronics-heavy vehicle out of warranty and aging. I've learned from experience never keep anything from the 21st century past 100k miles, that's when the electronics tend to go to shit...
  19. I like the Continental, it's one of those cars I like a lot more after seeing in person than looking at just in pictures. I've sat in them, seems like it would be a nice comfy cruiser.
  20. I have a few Skylines of various generations in my 1/24th kit stash.
  21. Of the vintage Skyline GT-Rs, I like the KPGC110 mid 70s generation and the R32.
  22. The current generation Skyline is sold in the US now, it's just badged as an Infiniti...(Q50/Q60).
  23. Which no doubt led to a lot of confusion over the years. Odd that they went with a nonstandard labeling scheme.
