  1. Clean design.. looks like an Audi. I like it..
  2. I've been seeing this error occasionally the last few days when clicking on a topic or forum within the site. With Safari. Fatal error: Class 'IPS\Theme\Cache\class_core_front_global' not found in /home/ddowdell/public_html/cheersandgears.com/system/Theme/Theme.php(871) : eval()'d code on line 14
  3. The coupes I have experience with were all on the smaller side...'86 Mustang LX, '87 Mustang GT, '91 Acura Legend, '91 Mercedes 300CE, '96 BMW M3...all had pretty tight back seats... I do remember friends back in the day w/ 80s-90s GM coupes that were more spacious. Growing up, my folks had a variety of Ford 2drs--'60s-70s Cougars, '70s-80s Thunderbirds and Mustangs--so I did ride in plenty when I was a kid.
  4. I'm not a truck guy, but if I did buy one, I'd go for the Ram..funny, 25 years ago the Dodge Ram was the brash new look against more conservative Ford and GM designs, and now Ram is the clean, subtle design vs busy, overwrought designs from Ford and GM...
  5. I've done it in my JGC...had to turn off the traction control. Was fun to hoon around after a big snowfall last month...
  6. Lucas Electrics.. ...the notorious unreliability of Lucas components played a key role in tanking the British car industry in the early 1980s. Make the jump for "If Lucas made guns, wars would not start," and other classics. The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark." Lucas is the patent holder for the short circuit. Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper. Lucas - Inventor of the self-dimming headlamp. The three position Lucas switch - Dim, Flicker and Off. The Original Anti-Theft Device - Lucas Electrics. Lucas is an acronym for Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices https://jalopnik.com/399791/joe-lucas-prince-of-darkness-british-electrical-system-jokes But seriously, I'm sure this new car is very well engineered...been a long time since the Lucas era...
  7. I wonder if the Sierra will get the special tailgate option as an exclusive for a year or two then Chevy gets it...I can't imagine Chevy letting GMC have something like this (if it is successful).
  8. And where is the fan and radiator?
  9. Very strange...it's like the location of the intake(s) and exhaust are reversed...wonder what the purpose of such a configuration is.
  10. Yeah, the others are more 2+2s. I had the unpleasant experience of riding in the back seat of a '15 Mustang a couple years ago for a couple of miles...seemed very cramped inside considering big it is outside...I think my '87 Mustang has more headroom (and it is pretty cramped). Then again, it's probably pretty rare today that 4 adults go around in a 2dr car...I did that occasionally when I drove 2drs exclusively, but usually knew someone with a 4dr.
  11. I wonder if they are going to duplicate those buttons on the outside of the tailgate for operation with buttons on the key fob. Seems like that would be convenient..
  12. Challenger, Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, Cascada, ATS.. and the only 2dr SUV left is the Wrangler.
  13. Alas, coupes have been dying off for the last 20 years or so...only 6 2dr coupes or convertibles left from the domestic 3...
  14. Insurance is usually high for Mustangs and young drivers... for cheap reliable used cars the standard answer for most people are Civic, Accord, Corolla or Camry...all built in the US though import brands, but those sound like no-gos here...
  15. The GMC has a bigger grille and bigger badges.
  16. Trivially different bulges in the front and rear fenders didn't mean real differences, though..same meat, slightly different toppings.
  17. boost
  18. Given how huge the grille is on the 1500, I wonder how big it will be on the HD versions..the front is less overwrought than the Chevy, but still pretty busy in all the details.
  19. And the Rogue Sport is 172".
  20. Sat in the Terrain at the auto show last weekend...huge blind spots from the strange windows set in the c-pillars...small and rectangular, kind of like '70s opera windows. It didn't seem that different from other compact CUVs other than some quirky features like the toggle button shifter .. other than squarer styling and more chrome, the GMC crossovers didn't seem any nicer than the other transverse 4cyl car-based generic lease appliances from Chevy, Buick, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, etc...don't really see where the marketing 'professional grade' BS applies to these...so boring....
  21. That would help differentiate them from Chevy more... the sales of regular cab and long bed GMCs are probably a very low percentage of production now...the profit is in luxury trim 4drs...
  22. That's a pretty slick tailgate..I like how the center can be used as a step.
  23. Another example of compact CUVs leading the growth...
  24. Toyota pickups have had a loyal following for decades, so it makes sense the Taco is still popular..
