    Speaking of Dads and cars, I need to digitize a bunch of photos of the cars my Dad had over the years...his first car was a '32 Ford 5 window coupe, had a '40 Packard coupe when he married my Mom in '48, first new car was a 49 Ford Fordor, last new car was a '96 Lincoln Town Car with lots of Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns (and one Dodge truck, '56 Chevy, and a '66 HIno Contessa) in-between....

    Sorry to hear that...losing parents can be rough...lost my Dad at age 78 in 1999 after a 3 year fight with cancer. That hit me hard as we were close. Lost my Mom almost 2 years ago at age 85, felt nothing. She and I had been semi-estranged for a while..

    Yes, steel rims and hubcaps don't look good on modern cars...but on late 60s-early 70s muscle cars, they look fantastic, IMO...

    Yes they did..would have been nice to see them in the Super Bowl. The catch rule calls this season have been crazy. Since the Browns are so horrible I've gone back to being a Steelers fan also (which I was as a kid since I was close to the Burgh living in Steubenville).

    This was fun...kind of front loaded it with the first 4 choices optioned up, the last one is a practical stripper. The GC is the comfy luxury daily driver SUV, just a bit fancier than my current GC. The Colorado is the practical little truck for some light duty hauling.     After disappointing seasons this year for the teams I follow, it was satisfying to see an underdog win. Was an entertaining Super Bowl.

    Not particularly exciting, but I did see a couple obscure ones this morning--a silver Isuzu Axiom and an orangey-red Suzuki SX4. Haven't seen examples of either in years...

    At one time, they did designate liters. Like the original 6.3, 6.9, etc. today, though 73 > 63.

    Hmm..SE? I had a Passat as a rental for 3 weeks last year at this time...when I was back here closing on my house and doing initial remodeling before I moved back in June. Nice car..very comfortable, good outward visibility, huge trunk..

    I also wonder..with the pickups new for '19, will the SUVs (Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade) be new for '20? Haven't seen anything about them yet...

    Nooo..no consolidation, we need more niches, more models, more variations...IDIC (infinite diversity, infinite configurations).

    The funny thing is, I've driven a couple late model Mustang and Camaro (5th gen) convertible rentals, and had to have the seat up (vertically) to comfortably see out....I'm not short (6'0") but felt like I was down in a well driving w/ the top up or down and the seat down low...
