I'm seeing the 34 pics of the disguised car on the motor1.com site, don't see a Facebook link. That blue one above from a Russian site is the only undisguised one I'm seeing.

Interesting shape..profile makes me think Mazda and maybe a bit of Alfa.

I kind of like that...looks like the MKX, Continental and new Navi also have them. My folks had a '58 Monterey (but 12 years before I was born). I like the Nav interior in blue...it has the transmission controls laid out horizontally.

yes...some snow melted here, probably going to be more today..but I did hear buzz about a polar vortex..

Rocker switch, push button. Not much difference. Hadn't read about Lincoln doing it, which model? Imagine if some company decided to not have physical controls for the transmission and do it all through the touch screen..I could imagine issues with that..

The modern one I was thinking of is the new GMC Terrain.

That was an early 60s thing w Chrysler. Gone by 64 or so. I wonder it they had some sort of lockout to keep R or P from being pushed when in motion. There is a new vehicle that has a push button transmission--can't recall what model. Maybe a CUV. (Not the Ram dial)

If any one were to build a modern interpretation of the Titanic, I could see Elon Musk doing it..except it would be electric and travel on water and through space and time...;)

There is a nice '67 Dart 2dr ht around here I've seen a few times (probably put away for winter now)...orange with black hood w/ Hemi style scoop, Centerlines, nice and rumbly...
-
I've heard of issues updating UConnect w/ older versions also. I'm not going to f*ck around with it on my '14, system works fine the way it is...I don't need no stinkin' updates..;)

Sounds illegal.. where in the US would you drive 150mph in an SUV? On a racetrack?

BMW News: Rumorpile: BMW X7 To Bow At LA Auto Show
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
The other models are smaller and sold internationally, so they do compete in a different niche. -
I can't imagine anyone actually going 149mph in one these, except maybe on an Autobahn or in Dubai....

BMW News: Rumorpile: BMW X7 To Bow At LA Auto Show
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Ignoring the banter about chrome or not chrome, these really are apples and oranges. The X7 will compete against Audi, MB GLS, Infiniti QX80, and Lexus LX. The Escalade and Navigator are in their own category of larger BOF truck based NA-market SUVs. -
Yeah, it's just raised wheel arch trim..similar to the Allroad and others.looking at photos, they seem to have an odd tab like shape at the top center?

Fun...one of my memorable Italian drives was along the Amalfi Coast...., had to stop in a line of cars waiting on a tour bus to navigate around upcoming corners on the narrow cliff road... got lost in Sorrento, had to back out of an alley that was too narrow for the A-class; scraped mirrors with a car passing in the opposite direction on the Amalfi Coast road....

Nice..was the Insignia a diesel? I drove a diesel Vectra back in '04 around northern Italy. My southern Italy rental in '03 was a Mercedes A140 diesel.

It's been almost 20 years since I've had aftermarket car stereos installed in anything...I wonder if that market is a lot smaller than it used to be, since car stereos are more integrated into the center stack and touchscreen on many models today, not like in the old days of DIN and double DIN head units...

In comparison to the A4, the Arteon has the advantage of being a hatchback...and it doesn't have the brand image baggage Audi drivers have these days...(i.e. pretentious BMW wannabes).

Common components across brands within a company. Standard approach. Doesn't mean the cars necessarily overlap.

It's as dumb a comparison as the Avalon and IS or the Impala and ATS. Two different models from a company's different brands... one is the top sedan of the mainstream brand, the other the bottom sedan of the premium brand. Apples and oranges.

Sharp...looks like their answer to the Avalon but with better styling...their big mouth grill looks better than Toyota's IMO.

Yesterday I saw a yellow 79-80 Chrysler New Yorker. I'm sure it's the same car I saw last fall, was very clean then. Now it was out in the winter muck and missing a rear corner cap with a dent in the deck lid.

Interesting...so on those '59s, was it two wheelbases or 'short' and long deck variations? (Like the '61-64 Cadillac Park Avenues).
