  1. Cold and sunny again today in Cleveland. Was 0F when I rolled out the rubbish bins a couple of hours ago. About 6 inches of snow still on the ground. Jeep grubby, need to run through the car wash soon.
  2. Yeah, been pretty cold and snowy since Xmas here in NE Ohio..I wouldn't mind winters in S. Florida eventually. I'm still happy to be away from Arizona and love having the Lake Erie beaches and islands close by (in nice weather).
  3. Thought I'd mentioned that before...I lived there from '81-88. Went to Jr High and High School there, graduated from Marathon. My folks bought a winter house there in '81, sold it in the mid 90s. Loved living down there...
  4. 59F and sunny in Marathon..that is cold for the Keys...I remember when I lived down there they closed the high school when it got to 45F one January day. Planning to go down there a couple times this year.
  5. Pretty cold here in Cleveland, maybe 6 inches of snow on the ground from the last few days..single digit highs today and tomorrow.
  6. It's a very subtle redesign. The Autocar article said it was all new with a noticeable weight reduction. I wonder if they have eliminated some of the classic details like the exposed screws that Balthy liked
  7. It seems with the ATS/CTS/CT6, Cadillac is trying to fit the big 3's A4/A6/A8, 3/5/7 or C/E/S ladder, but the pricing isn't in sync with the German ladders. Then they have the XTS which is an alternate outlier. Cadillac's structure seems to be closer to that of Lexus, with the IS/GS/LS with the ES as the alternate outlier.
  8. Looks like the undisguised exterior has been leaked, as seen on Autocar....pretty radical redesign.. https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/motor-shows-detroit-motor-show/2018-mercedes-benz-g-class-leaks-ahead-detroit-motor-show?utm_medium=EMAIL&utm_campaign=Enews Bulletins&utm_content=ACAR ENews Bulletin_New (04.01.2018)::hero_headline&utm_source=20180104
  9. That's how it works..you post whiny drivel, you get a down vote..
  10. As an aside, maybe the way to reverse declining sedan sales is to make sedans from SUVs and CUVs...keep the high seating position, high roofline but have a squared off rear with a large trunk. Kind of like the wacky truck sedans in S America in the 60s-70s but more refined.
  11. Who knows...kind of confusing. I saw somewhere rumors that a US version of the Yuntu could be sold as a Chrysler....small/mid 3 row CUVs are hot right now, and FCA doesn't have any...
  12. True, but the GC isn't available in 3 row, FWD or a 4cyl, which is probably what they want in China.
  13. Well, long wheelbase versions of smaller models is a thing in China...very common with sedans, so I'm not surprised to see it with a CUV.
  14. No surprise about the Tacoma, the Tacoma owners I know would never buy a GM truck. Toyota gets lots of repeat buyers.
  15. Also in the side profile the prototype has the front door to front wheel well short length indicative of FWD transverse engine like the Cherokee.
  16. I think some of the speculation is off... I thought the Yuntu was going to be a Cherokee-based 3 row? The Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer is supposed to be a full size model, likely based off the new Ram.
  17. Mustang isn't a winter car except in the Sun Belt, so I can see its sales being off in December.
  18. After 30 years, it was a very strong brand styling cue..should have kept it...at least they toned down the ugliness of the current 'RAM' logo grille.
  19. The RAM badge looks a bit small, thought they would fill the entire grille opening with it.
  20. Kind of like to see the Saab 'black out' feature again...when I was driving all night in my Jeep, I dimmed the center UConnect screen, it was too bright.
  21. I usually prefer the traditional 6 full analog gauges like on my Mustang or my old Jeep, but I do like the digital speedo that looks like a normal speedometer with needle but can be toggled to a digital number readout on my Jeep, with the info screen within it that can be changed on the fly to show many things--tire pressure, oil life, oil temp, battery life, fuel economy, trip odos, etc..
  22. No real traditions...first New Years back in Ohio, so on New Years Eve we went downtown to see the holiday displays in Public Square, drove through Playhouse Square over to Severance Hall at Case Western U for dinner and a performance by the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. Then drove back home to the burbs around midnight. Cold. Then on New Years Day slept in and stayed inside watching the snow come down, watched a bit of college football. In Public Square downtown (first two pics) there is a skating rink set up..people were out skating at 6:30 pm-ish when I drove by...but it was 10F outside, so I was happy to stay instead w/ heated seats and wheel.
  23. I do like the idea of Apple Play...maybe in a few years I'll trade my '14 GC for a CPO '18 GC.
  24. Being born in 1970, I couldn't have avoided Star Wars growing up. Enjoyed the original films (and have a bunch of the figures from childhood). I like the recent films for the most part. I'm not a huge sci fi fan, but always liked Star Wars and Star Trek, Blade Rnner and a few others.
