  4. The times I've driven automatics w/ paddles or a 'manual mode' I've found myself not bothering to use them..the novelty of paddle shift wears off after about 5 min...maybe in a sports car I'd find them interesting, but in the grind they just seem pointless..with an automatic, I put it in D and away I go...I like the dash knob that is appearing on some Chrysler products, and the classic column shift, both approaches are better than a floor shift that wastes console space that could be better used for more cubbies...
  5. Yes, typical on-the-cheap Asian market truck where they cram the extended cab and crew cab on the same wheelbase..
  6. Make the nose squarer, double the grille size and name it the Ram 50..
  7. Saw a black Tesla Model X today in traffic, first one I'd seen. Basically looks like a taller Model S. Also saw a nice white 68 Ford F-350 Custom Cab stake bed truck... Also saw a current generation Ram C/V (Caravan cargo van) with the usual blanked out side windows, but also with the rear hatch window blanked out..never seen a blind box one...
  8. Obviously not going to go to non work related websites on my company computer or company phone. Keep personal stuff on personal hardware.
  9. Car's article described it as a 4dr coupaloon. (coupe + saloon). I guess an Americanized version would be a coupedan or cedan..
  10. Saw AMG M3 V HEMI badging on the back of a Prius a while back...badging is easy to procure on eBay.
  11. That's what phones are for...I surf C&G on potty breaks at work and at lunch sometimes...

  13. Or busy... manuals are great for pleasure driving in the countryside, but in the real world with coffee cups, food, cell phones, etc automatics make more sense in the daily grind in cities and suburbia... I like manuals, had them in daily drivers for over 14 years and in secondary cars for 8 years after that..but today, there are so few available--besides sports cars and coupes, they are usually only available in stripped down econoboxes. The kinds of vehicles I like and would likely buy tend to be all automatics...I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes manuals but finds the selection pretty slim.
  14. Niches within niches...it's proven successful for MB so far, so no doubt Audi will have an A9 4dr coupe and BMW an 8 series 4dr coupe (an 8 and a 9 series are coming, I think I saw somewhere)? The big 3 seem to match each other in nearly lock step.. Maybe they can think outside the box and do something truly different, like a shooting brake version of the AMG GT or SL, or a 2dr fastback coupe version of one of their SUVs, or a 4dr coupe Sprinter (low roof van w/ fastback roofline). (Edit: speaking of the SUV 2dr coupe idea, I recall Audi had a concept maybe 15 years ago of a coupe SUV that was really sharp, can't recall the details, though).
  15. I'd be happy with another 6 cyl Laredo 4x4, but it certainly would be fun to see them build a Hellcat version...
  16. Saw not one, but two SSes tonight...a bright red one and the bright blue that I really like..about a mile apart.
  17. Always see some interesting cars in Scottsdale...saw not one, but two Chevy SSes--a bright red one and one in that bright blue I like. Also saw a clean '10-ish Camaro in that bright Mountain Dew green (was called Synergy Green IIRC)--haven't seen one of those at least 5 years. Saw a bright blue '16 Volt, first one of the new ones I've seen out and about...the silver upper and lower grille trim seems a bit overwrought. Also saw two Leafs (Leaves?)--one in silver with green leaf decals on the sides, and one white. The winner, though was the new '16 Prius in matte black w/ black wheels, and a custom front Euro-style plate that read '1BADAZZMF'... go figure...
  18. I don't see the utility in an explanation. A down vote reason is obvious usually.
  19. It is very amusing to see how some get so emotionally worked up over a simple downvote. It's not a declaration of war, not the murder of your loved ones, or something else serious...just a downvote on a post on an internet forum...people that get so upset over such a triviality probably need to seek help from a mental health professional if they are that fragile. I guess it's a byproduct of a world where every delicate flower gets a trophy, no winners or losers, and we have to watch out for the kiddo's 'feelings'.
  20. There is also the Fiat Fullback sold in some markets, based on the Mitsubishi compact truck...could be used for a Ram 50 revival
  21. I doubt if very many M-B owners keep them 10 years or care about depreciation after 10 years...lease them for 2-3 years, get a new one..
  22. Odd they have the X1 listed under passenger cars and the X3, etc under 'light trucks'....the sales of the i3 and i8 are way down, the novelty worn off quickly..
  23. I don't see why it can't work here, but apparently, it hasn't at some point in the past (I was absent quite a bit in '11-15). So I understand the current system and accept it as it is.
  24. take a deep breath and relax. You are reading waaaay too much into the concept of upvoting/downvoting. As I said, it works fine on other sites without noticable issues. Have a good evening.
