Industry News: Midsize Sedans Are Experiencing Sales Freefall
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
After a 300 mile weekend road trip in my sister's Trax last month, I'm impressed at how well it drives...comfortable, with enough power for freeway driving and overtaking..not bad on high altitude hills either.- 83 replies

At 46, I usually go to sleep between 10-10:30, sometimes earlier. I usually am up between 5-5:30. On the weekends I try and stay up an hour earlier and get up later, though the dogs usually wake me. I try and take an afternoon nap on weekends. I could always use more sleep, sleep is the ultimate luxury IMO.

I took Ambien some years ago, didn't have much luck with it. Been on Trazodone the last 8/9 years and it's usually effective. I can't function during the day with less than 6-7 hrs of good sleep.

I've lived with insomnia for 25+ years...strong prescription drugs enable me to sleep...

That makes me wonder...how are luxury mid size sedan sales going? Shrinking also? I would assume so, since luxury CUV ans SUV sales seem to be growing..

Ah, missed that...though Audis, Benzes and BMWs are so common around here that they are pretty mainstream...

Fat fingered it, I guess..wasn't my intent

Still going...odo hit 166k this morning. Went to the carwash, got the deluxe wash and vacuumed the interior...still going... -
Hmmm...never had a midsize sedan in my life, though many as rentals. For an oldie, I like my brother's '69 Fairlane sedan, 390 4bbl w/ automatic. Pretty quick in a plain dark green wrapper with dog dish hubcaps. I've driven it a few times and it's fun... I guess my dream midsize would be a BMW E39 540i or M5. Though a Merc W124 300 sedan would be good also, I've enjoyed driving my sister's 300CE. For modern midsizers, I wouldn't kick a Malibu (current or previous generation) or a current gen Focus out of my garage/carport...

Getting old sucks...I'm such a lightweight now with alcohol...had two Four Peaks Kiltlifters with lunch at Lou Malnati's (tasty Chicago style deep dish pizza) and now I feel wasted...

I've been listening to the latest solo album These People by Richard Ascroft (The Verve) quite a bit lately, along with Chris Stapleton's Traveller (the first country album I've bought in a looong time, excellent songs).

Industry News: Leasing Reaches Record High, Could Grow Further
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
I'm definitely thinking about leasing or a CPO for my next car...I don't think I'll keep a daily driver 15-16 years again.. maybe 3-5 years max going forward. -
I'd take the F40, but I'd really rather have a 288 GTO. Not in red, though, too predictable. Dark brown or dark blue..

I noticed the login now requires using the 'display name' rather than username to login ? Weird. It's working well on mobile otherwise. Interesting I had to use the 'login through Facebook' to get in, and it worked seamlessly. ( I couldn't remember the formatting on my display name) Moltar

MAJOR SOFTWARE UPDATE COMING THIS WEEK!

They tease, tease and tease...2dr hardtops, 4dr convertibles, large luxury sedans, sports cars...but then cold hard reality of the market wanting more trucks, SUVs and CUVs sets in..

The name reminds me of La Scala, the opera house in Milan. The fastback roofline reminds of the A7 mixed with the Citroen C6... the front makes me think Mazda mixed w/ current Cadillac styling...I like the dimensions--127 inch wheelbase, 210 long... maybe a preview of a possible CT8?

I can see High Tech Companies doing this to entice their developers to get off their ass and move around. Good point.. I had originally only thought of smaller local restaurants and things along those lines. I don't know how long it takes to find and catch one though so if it's real quick then I don't see the point in a tech company doing it.Yeah, it's something I could see Starbucks, McDs, and other point of sale retailers, etc doing. Developers in tech companies are way too expensive resources to waste their time on such fluff. (As a developer myself, I'm too busy leveraging core competencies on actionizable tasks that create shareholder value).

I've seen 3 of the new Ridgelines in the last week...a white one w/ black wheels, a black one, and a silver one. For mega-obscure, I saw an '81 Chrysler Newport today in traffic (one year only grille made the ID easy)...dark red w/ dark red vinyl top, some sun fade, but solid overall with shiny chrome, white wall tires...

Definitely made progress this year...after 7-8 years of flabbing around at 245-250, I got down to 231 by my birthday at the end of June. Since then, I've taken off around 4 more pounds. My goal is to get to around 199 by January 1. I'd like to eventually get back to where I was at age 30, 185lbs... my work is so sedentary in nature, as are my hobbies and interests, and I live in such a harsh climate...I force myself to walk more everyday (tracking steps w/ my Fitbit), try and swim everyday during pool season, cut out junk food and sodas, trying to be smarter about snacks and meals--hard as I am a foodie and love eating...

I'm happy w my iPhone6, other than the battery charge life--but I keep chargers at home, in the car, at work, in my backpack so not a problem. I like the form factor. The Galaxy is a nice phone, but way too big. It's more of a woman's purse phone than a man's front pocket phone. I'll probably get whatever the current iPhone is in about a year or so when this ones contract is up.

Unfortunately obliviousness is the norm for some, and this perfectly illustrates my point about being face deep in your damn phone. If I were to post a picture of two separate people walking down the street with their noses in their phone, would you be able to tell the difference between the one playing Pokemon or the one tweeting their latest self absorbed post? From what I've heard, there are some swipe motions specific to Pokemon Go that are tells to its usage.

The Biltmore neighborhood in central Phoenix, named for the Biltmore resort here. (in reference to the previous post which mentioned Coronado, another Phoenix neighborhood, and a previous post mentioning Maricopa County). Totally random: just saw a guy running on the sidewalk carrying what appeared to be a metal trash can lid or a shield high over his head. Right next to a fire station. And the temp reading was 116.

Cool. I live in the Biltmore area and work in Scottsdale.
