    Well, they have Trailhawk for their off-road tuned models, so Trackhawk for the paved road performance models...

    I've had Cobalts and HHRs as rentals in the past, nothing remotely 'world class' about their interiors, even 10 years ago...cheap, hard nasty plastics.....they were cheap, disposable econoboxes for their day, nothing special. Anyone who thought those were 'world class' must never have experienced much of the world.. (j/k)

    Back in the late 90s I was living in Colorado Springs with 3 vehicles with manuals--one with a fairly stiff clutch. Getting stuck in afternoon freeway traffic there and in Denver and cluch in/cluch out all the time got really, really old. Plus I then bought my Jeep which was only available w/ an automatic (first week I had it I had 'phantom clutch syndrome'--moving my left foot for a clutch that wasn't there). I do like a manual in a sports car/sporty car, but for the daily grind I'm happy with automatics. Still think I'd prefer a manual in a small diesel, though.

    True enough...I drove pretty much 100% manuals for 15 years but dealing w/ heavy traffic and the lack of availability got me into automatics 17 years ago.

    After 3 weeks driving a Passat, this vehicle is now on my radar...may have to go take one for a test drive..seems like it would make a nice NE Ohio year round car...

    True. I've long liked SUVs, am warming to CUVs. Practicality is winning. So many cars are just too impractical with their tiny trunks and lack of space.

    I can see the Bolt leading to a EV sedan for Chevy, and maybe an XT1-E CUV for Cadillac ?

    The current gen Accent sedan also has that silly black C-pillar trim also....looks like a cheap afterthought...why not just put a small window there?

    Don't think I've ever seen a Corsica described as 'gorgeous'..thought of them, but decided that was too long ago..vehicles GM did 20-45 years ago aren't relevant to the thread.

    I wasn't thinking of old cars..thinking modern era. GM hasn't had any US market midsize hatchbacks that I can think of in recent decades except the goofy looking Malibu Maxx..

    I could see considering an Alfa for a lease for a few years instead of the more predictable BMW 3-series if I were in the compact premium niche..something different and distinctive...wouldn't want one after out of warranty, of course.

    Keep in mind, though, Mercedes and VW are international companies (with many brands in VW's case)..Cadillac has very limited sales outside NA, so they don't need as big of a budget...

    Finally feeling back to normal at work (after 3 weeks in Ohio), the time difference and poor sleep have been plaguing me. And it's easy to get distracted checking my Ohio home alarm, the motion sensors, cameras inside and out, etc from my phone.

    My diesel Escort easily got over 55mpg highway, but it was probably 1000 lbs lighter than today's compact diesels ( and pretty basic and stripped down).

    They already tried Chevrolet in Europe, it failed. Opel/Vauxhall have been the European GM brands for so long that I couldn't see them changing names..

    I couldn't imagine a compact diesel with an automatic...but they have to do that for the stupid Americans that can't drive a stick.

    Was behind a Bolt EV autonomous out testing today. I've seen a lot of autonomous vehicles testing in Scottsdale.

    I like the fastback style hatches like the A7 and Mondeo. The more vertical hatch works better for a wagon or CUV.
