  1. If there was a Corvette brand, there would be room for a compact entry sports car, ala the Solstice/Sky...and a mid engined Zora flagship that the magazines have been blathering about. And how about a performance SUV?
  2. With a Corvette drivetrain and Corvette styling cues on the front and rear, the Fisker Karma would have made a great Corvette sedan...had a rather Corvettish profile, I thought...
  3. Yeah, that. After putting this article up, I poked around on Autotrader and found one of those in LWB Portfolio trim for very reasonable money. very sharp car It was a flagship, that was not the S-Class, wasn't German, wasn't fat as $h!.. and people knu U were well-off when U pulled up. Cadillac.. will U market the CT6 the way the OLD XJ was marketed please? And it had a proper horizontal Jag dash w/ a plank 'o wood. The current XJ dash is so generic and styleless...
  4. Aww...a Yorkie. I have 4, 2 boys and 2 girls.. You have 4?!?!? I'm actually jealous. I always tell the gf that I want a small fleet of them because of how cute they'd be all running around playing! lol Have any pictures of yours??? Yorkies--- Ginger, 6lbs Penny, 7lbs.. Zo--a big boy, 16lbs and Henry, 10lbs We also have 3 other dogs, all terriers and terrier mixes.. Nauti II, a senior Australian Terrier (was a rescued stray and a cancer survivor) and these two---Raine and Beardsley, terrier mixes adopted together last year...(Raine is the red dog at the top and Beardsley is gray/white) Another one of Beardsley:
  5. Since the demise of the Insight I haven't read anything regarding a dedicated hybrid from Honda as far as sedans/hatches. I wonder if they are still evolving the fuel cell car (FCX Clarity) towards volume production..
  6. I like muscle cars and pony cars also, but like to keep genres separate.. Had a Fox Mustang GT at the same time I had the M3. I could respect that. But...the two genres that are American Pony Cars like the Mustang and the Camaro and the German sports car coupe based on a sedan like the M3 are slowly becoming one... The M3 had a V8 last generation. The Mustang has a turbo 4....so will the Camaro. The Camaro is based off a sports car sedan that is chasing the 3 Series... The American Pony Cars can handle European twisties...and narrow roads while the M4 has grown to sit huge American butts... True enough..the latest iterations of Camaro and Mustang have more in common w/ the international RWD sports coupe formula than at any time in the past...

  8. A LOT more BMWs have had "Chevy" small blocks installed in them than you would think. But those aren't serious BMW owners, just backyard hacks doing engine swaps on old worn out cars...a GM engine in a BMW kind of defeats the point of having a BMW. Idk, I'd love to have an LSx in my old E36. Blasphemy! I had an E36 M3 back in the day..BMW straight 6 all the way..
  9. Nothing luxurious in that interior...its just that Porsche let the 911 evolve...and the company itself evolved... Because the lower end Porsches...in the 1980s like a 944...was not that special either. In 1986...Id say the Corvette;s interior was on par with a 911. The '86 Corvette interior was pretty hideous--blocky dash w/ digital gauges.nothing remotely sporty. The 911 dash of that era was minimalist, serious, no nonsense and clearly evolved from the earlier 911s.

As deranged an idea as putting a Chevy engine in a Mustang.
  11. Sort of related to the topic, wasn't there an idea to make Corvette quasi-autonomous and able to be sold at any GM dealer floated at GM maybe 20 years ago? I seem to recall something in Car & Driver or another magazine in he 90s on this theme..
  12. My is what I highlighted. I really don't drive any different when it's raining, unless it is a downpour - obviously. Actually, quick story. About a month ago the GF and I were taking our little girl to the vet Aww...a Yorkie. I have 4, 2 boys and 2 girls..
  13. Maybe Porsche will take on MAN and Scania w/ a performance heavy truck...
  14. Wayfarer
  15. They slow down in the tunnel because it's dark?
  16. I've seen that phenomenon here in AZ where rain is a rare novelty...on the freeways people have no idea how to drive in rain...
  17. Use the slowest setting because the rain is light/intermittent, obvious, right?
  18. Saw a derelict '75 Catalina 2dr rolling along in traffic yesterday...may have been silver once..all the upper surfaces had surface rust and bits of silver showed down low...interior filled w/ stuff, looked like the driver lived in it..the driver was a really creepy looking guy w/ a huge beard.
  19. Cube life. I've been a free range developer before--working from home w remote clients and working in an open plan cubeless office. Both arrangements have their downsides. I need to take a vacation for longer than a 3 day weekend..
  20. I try that... but i'm mostly just tired. I tried that approach for years, working hard through college and grad school, the first decade of my career...stayed hungry and strived to achieve. At some point, burnout and exhaustion set in along w cynicism and self loathing and the realization that corporate life is all $h!, just varying degrees of effed up ness at each dysfunctional organization. The challenge is to stay conscious through each day amidst the mind numbing tedium and then knock myself out with powerful meds at night...
  21. Needs a bigger front badge, fill the whole grille opening with it...
  22. Almost got broadsided at an intersection coming back to work from lunch yesterday...riding in a coworker's sweet modded for offroading '80s Land Cruiser FJ60, he turned legally on a left arrow and some dumbass blew through the red light in a 90s Sonoma...the Sonoma nearly t-boned us, but he swerved and locked up his brakes and missed us by a few feet...
  23. Going to work this morning saw a red longbed '69 Ford Ranger pickup in traffic in solid condition w/ a rack w/ ladders and a wheelbarrow in the back...neat to see a truck that old still on the job... Saw one of the new Jeep Renegades in person for the first time in a light tan, neat little wagon. Also saw a new GMC Canyon short bed crew cab in dark green, first I've seen of the new generation..very sharp pickup.
  24. They could do a Pro Master or Pro Master City pickup w/ little investment, since Fiat makes pickups based on the vans they are based on. It would be functional and utilitarian., with diesel and good mileage. And it would be unique in the US market, not the usual predictable offering.
  25. That blue Chevelle looks like a '69. Didn't see much of anything this weekend, mostly stayed around the house and played in the pool and made only a couple trips out..
