  1. ^ Ford also used 7.0 Litre badging on the '68 Cougar GT-E. I'm not sure any other Mercurys used such badging for the 427/428.
  2. I wonder if that 8.2 is the biggest displacement badge ever on a production car..
  3. Sharp...the Challenger is one of the few cars I really like in white.
  4. Body and chrome look ok but the interior has been trashed...looks restorable, though.
  5. Cadillac has some great names that could come back, IMO... deVille, Fleetwood, Seville, Eldorado, Biarittz...better than non-TLA TLAs...
  6. No, the current Explorer is a FWD/AWD CUV, nothing truck about it. Ram is strictly truck and (commercial) van, Jeep is SUV and CUV, and Dodge is car only sounds like the long term strategy that Fiat is pushing towards...
  7. If they come to the US, they should partner w/ Wal-Mart and Sam's Club for in-store dealerships....given Genericans desire for cheap $h! from China, it would probably sell well....
  8. Visited my local Target yesterday...found the gold Caddy CTS wagon, but the HW section was totally picked over and nothing new was to be seen.
  9. I do wonder what Jeep w/ do for a Wagoneer...since the current Durango and GC are very similar from the rear, they could just put the GC front clip on the Durango, give it a GC interior, and call it a day..
  10. IIRC at one time ('80s?) the Camaro had 5.0L badges for the 305 didn't it?
  11. I seem to recall seeing in a Hemmings mag in recent years that this car still exists and has been restored.
  12. Interesting...I thought the Durango was getting phased out since Jeep was getting a Wagoneer.
  13. Spark. Now that is something different.
  14. Dodge and Ford are also 'value brands' and have sedans that range that high in price, though. Buick is just filler between Chevy and Cadillac, sort of how Mercury was between Ford and Lincoln, so there is going to be overlap.
  15. Back to dwight's post, Chevy has Malibu and Impala for the same reason Ford has Fusion and Taurus, Nissan has Altima and Maxima, Toyota has Camry and Avalon. Midsize 4 cyl appliance, full size 4cyl and V6 appliance. Covering two major volume niches. As for the SS, if there is a next generation, I wonder if their will be one NA made model to cover performance (SS) and police (PPV) use...for 2014 at least, there are two related-but-distinct models (SS and Caprice PPV) for those niches.
  16. Yes...the Mini is pretty much the original FWD subcompact...the original set the template for all that was to come. By appliances I mean bland commodity cars that the mainstream buys in volume---Camry, Malibu, Corolla, Cruze, Altima, etc...functional product that get people you point A to point B but offer nothing interesting or distinctive. The Mini is stylish and distinctive, more than a mere appliance.
  17. That is ODD...must have liked the Trailblazer styling more...but to go to that extent...interesting. Probably just a wreck repair done on the cheap...the parts interchange anyway.
  18. 7 different car models with a V8. C-Class, E-class, S-class (CL-Class merging with S-class in 2014), CLS, SLK, SL, SLS. Cadillac has 1, Chevy now has 3. Cadillac needs some more love in the high performance area, or even just mid-range V8 luxury sedan, Hyundai makes more V8 sedans than Cadillac. Apples and oranges, though...GM's bread and butter is cheap FWD appliances...Mercedes is all about expensive RWD models..though they are sadly getting into the appliance thing also.
  19. Invalid statement. E-class wagon has an available 3rd row. http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicles/class/features/class-E/vehicle-versatility/bodystyle-WGN
  20. Research turns up that Dodge had a Mitsubishi diesel option in 1978..
  21. Niche models can get away with longer product cycles than high volume appliances, I suppose...
  22. Twenty? Exaggerate much? The New Mini has only been out for little over a decade... besides, the original design lasted for around 40 years, so I wouldn't expect revolutionary change..
  23. That SS concept was 10 years ago...a different Chevy now than then...different time and place.
  24. That would be correct...the EV wouldn't have an engine but a motor instead.
