A problem for the infrastructure is the red states.. I can't imagine backward right wingers investing in green technology infrastructure. -

Interesting...I thought the new season started less than a month ago.. -

A Honda version to target the Chevy Trax and Ford EcoSport would make sense also. -

Watching the Daytona 500...the blue & white SS pace car looks very good...they had a couple on display trackside and commented on them during the preshow..- 102 replies

'We Are Driven' was a great slogan...interesting how many bodystyles the 210 and 510 lines had..
-
LoL...nothing governmental about it...3dr bodystyles, like manual transmissions, fell out of favor w/ the Genericans who prefer their appliances in 4dr sedan w/ automatic form...

Interesting...didn't know they even had one..the Cruze is kind of an invisible car. I never see them on road.
-
They have the Sonic RS..they need a Spark RS also, maybe an Cruze RS also.

Reworking the front corners to use normal light clusters like the Compass would vastly improve the design, IMO.

I don't mind the grille treatment, but the lighting...are the middle lights the headlights and the top ones parking lights? It's very strange..

I think they are going after the Evoque at a lower price point... what's weird is the juxtaposition w/ the Cherokee name, which has a history of being non-trendy and serious w/ off road skills..

It seems like Jeep designers have lost the script on brand identity..first they put Chrysler headlights on the '14 Grand Cherokee, ruining it's front end appearance, now this...

I guess the Italians are aiming for something high style like the Evoque...personally, I prefer the rugged, no-nonsense look of the old XJ Cherokee...

Karma News: Fisker Taking Bids From Geely and Dongfeng

Fap gets the point. Arguing against new technologies is like the luddites who thought color tv would never go anywhere. Or cell phones would never take off...or 1000 other examples. -
I guess it was my parents' cars and my older brother's cars that got me interested in cars as a kid in the mid '70s...my folks' 3 '67-68 Cougars and '69 Mustang, my brother's various cars incl. a '65 GTO, '74 Firebird Formula 400, '68 Camaro SS 396, '65 Mustang, etc... and Matchbox and Hot Wheels did their part.

You miss the point... -
linky? I haven't seen anything but vague disguised spy pics a while back... Edit--found the pics on Autoblog and Allpar. Hmmm...not sure what I think yet...definitely different. Something unusual going on w/ the front lighting and grille...

How about in the green, but w/ white bumpers, white grille and white wheels? I always like the white trim on vintage base models. A local business has a fleet of late model F150s painted in a retro baby blue w/ white roofs, albeit w/ chrome trim and silver wheels..

Me too! Traveling to Atlantic City, I pass by a business (can't tell if it's still open or closed) that has an older International Loadstar box truck parked in the same spot for all the years I've been passing it by. While I am a fan of Internationals, I'd prefer a GM truck first. However, as I now am taking a liking to these types of trucks, and seeing them showing up at car & trucks shows, I may have to look a little further into that Loadstar soon I hear you about the childhood angle...as a kid in rural Ohio in the late '70s I remember being fascinated by my neighbor's Loadstar stake bed truck and my friend's family's Ford F700 stake truck--a friend from elementary school (who is still a friend today) lived on a huge farm and they had a lot of Ford and International pickups and medium and heavy trucks, all painted red and white...
-
I don't know why, but I find those '60s-70s medium duty trucks--esp. farm-style stakebeds fascinating. Same w/ the old International Loadstar stake bed trucks, Ford F700s, C600s, etc...

Karma News: Fisker Taking Bids From Geely and Dongfeng

<rant> So true... we have so much potential and skill in this country, but innovation is often stifled by the corrupt corporate and political interests and the luddites...and so much time is wasted arguing with people about trivial bull$h!. Such is life. </rant> -
Karma News: Fisker Taking Bids From Geely and Dongfeng
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Karma
<rant> There are always luddites and businesses whose only interest is in maintaining the status quo--oil companies and conservatives for instance. They hold back and slow innovation as they are stuck to paradigms of the past rather than moving forward...it happens with any technology. Technology has to evolve and move forward. No point in living in the past. Stifling innovation because it doesn't agree with your obsolete views isn't good for countries or industries. </rant>
