  1. I suspect MB could care less what Lexus does, since Lexus is just a Toyota and primarily a US phenomenon.
  2. I have 3 VW driving coworkers, all have black on black ones (not the best color combo in the desert, IMO)..a previous-gen Jetta, a CC, and a Jetta wagon w/ diesel and manual. I really like the looks and interior of the CC. All are happy w/ their cars.. (random factoid: 1/4 of my company has VWs, 1/4 have Hondas, 1/6th have Jeeps, 1 Acura, 1 Hyundai, 1 guy w/ a Tundra and a '71 Chevelle, 1 Miata)
  3. Well a fridge is an option, maybe in model year two there will be a hamburger press and grill option. I am actually disappointed on one thing though, it looks like the 7-speed transmission will carry over, I thought the 9-speed would be ready at launch. I guess time will tell. I also wish the convertible was a 4-door, that would be epic, but a 2-door is better than none at all. I think I'll wait until the MCE. Holding out for either a hibachi or a smoker. RE: the transmissions, I read that they finally paired the 7-speed to the V12, so they may want to get some mileage out of that. Question though... ever wonder why Mercedes and Infiniti have skipped the even number of gears though? They've both used 5, and then when everyone went to 6, those two companies went to 7. 7 > 6. Like 9 > 8.
  4. Well a fridge is an option, maybe in model year two there will be a hamburger press and grill option. I'd be happy w/ an in-dash coffee maker and bagel toaster.
  5. Saw a silver Fisker Karma in my grocery parking lot, next to a white Camaro ZL1...both of which I think I've seen around before...
  6. Congrats! I have a coworker w/ a Jetta TDi wagon and he loves it.. people I know w/ modern VW diesels seem to really like them.
  7. All 2013 Camaro wheels are new, except for the base LS's black steel wheels. Different spokes and shapes. Maybe they were the new silver LT spokes. I was perusing the Camaro website yesterday, saw the new wheels...maybe someone painted the spokes on the black steel wheels..these had the trim rings, but w/ silver spokes. This was in a parking lot near my office, maybe I'll see it again..
  8. ... presuming they'd sell. True...more choice is a good thing, but if it doesn't sell....kind of a chicken and egg problem. I'd love to see wagons and hatchbacks and coupes in many different model lines, but would they sell... A Fusion coupe could be an interesting idea.
  9. It is interesting to see the difference in approach between this and the Veyron which is as heavy as a full size SUV (over 5000 lbs, isn't it) and has oodles of horsepower...
  10. The Fusion needs the diesels and the hatchback bodystyle from its Euro market Mondeo sibling...
  11. It will be interesting to see where they go stylistically w/ the new S class.. I've grown to like the current car, the previous one was ok, but I miss the huge grilles and heft of the W126 and W140 generations of the '80s-90s. Interesting that while Mercedes has moved towards smaller grilles, Audi and Lexus have moved towards massive grilles in recent years.
  12. It is a bit homely and utilitarian, isn't it? The cross-hatch grille does butch up the Ram versions a bit, I suppose.
  13. Definitely not seniors..BMW 6 series here seem to attract a younger douchebag demo... WOW, The Drug Trade must be good there so close to the border! They must be really pushing the credit limit for the young Douchebags to afford a 6 series. Real estate has long been the big money-making business in AZ...and by 'younger' I'm talking 40-50 somethings...for the really young, there seem to be a lot of trust funders that party in Scottsdale...with ASU being one of the top party schools in the country, you get a lot of rich kids, often w/ flashy cars..see lots of them around Tempe....the desert is a weird place..it's a mix of So Cal culture with a lot of Texas excess, Las Vegas sleaze, and a lot of Midwestern transplants.
  14. Here's the Doblo pickups...pretty badazz...
  15. Neat video....this car would be a nice choice for the next Bond movie, a break from the Astons. I wonder if they will use different names in China since they are superstitious about such things..
  16. That's how many are listed...wheelbase, roof height, and window variations. Alas, they don't have the interesting pickup and double cab pickup versions that Europe gets.
  17. IIRC the existing RR coupe and convertible are based on the Phantom and this is based on the Ghost, which is the 'baby' Roller..
  18. Saw a silver V6 5th gen Camaro w/ what looked like a set of 5 spoke steel wheels that I didn't recongnize...did they change the base wheels for '13? These had bright spokes instead of black ones.
  19. That is about right for all the seniors there. Definitely not seniors..BMW 6 series here seem to attract a younger douchebag demo...
  20. I like it..love the roofline, the interior, the two tone paint, the detailing...and it's no lightweight either...hefty and substantial.
  21. Who knows, by 2020 the base Corvette engine may be a 300hp 2.0 Turbo 4....maybe the crazy British guy that was on here a few years ago wasn't so crazy...
  22. That's the point I was making... I know the technology is advanced and how they drive is probably incredible, but the designs of these new supercars leave me cold. They all look like they were drawn up by 12 yr old video gamers. There is nothing like the beauty of designs like the Miura, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 250 Lusso, Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona) etc in them... there is no sexy in these modern supercar designs, only bling, brutality and violence. What else does the human need ofther than Bling, Brutality and Violence? Just look at the current state of the world! We so need another Love revolution! Heh-heh.... I'm a techie and like modern technology and great handling and performance, but beauty is what is missing from the supercars of today....the styling of something like the Veneno is so tasteless and ugly, iMO. Looks like cartoon $h! from the Transformers or something.
  23. Or a place to install child or dog seats The Maserati coupe and convertible is a neat car, see a few around once in a while...fairly scarce. Scarce, yes. Over here too. There's a black one that parks in the office building in front of the one I'm located at and it's just Sadly they are very popular in seattle and you see them daily. Nice cars but not as rare as they would seem to be elsewhere. The luxo coupe/convertible in a similar price range that seems very popular around here (in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, mostly) is the BMW 6 series, and most seem to have the full douchebag trim--black w/ oversized bling wheels, etc.
