Not sure if it's a bug or not, but I've noticed w/ the new skin the up/down voting arrows on posts are gone.

Chevrolet News:And Now, The 2014 Chevrolet SS
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Not much...typical Motor Trend, lightweight...read through the article on Flipboard, it's probably on their website.. Edit: found it http://wot.motortrend.com/by-the-numbers-chevrolet-ss-pontiac-g8-gxp-dodge-charger-rt-hyundai-genesis-50-r-spec-330543.html- 102 replies

Chevrolet News:And Now, The 2014 Chevrolet SS
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Motor Trend has a comparison article out today between the SS, GXP, Charger R/T and Hyundai Genesis, but it's not a real road test, just facts about the cars and stuff probably pulled from previous articles.- 102 replies

Chevrolet News:And Now, The 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sure they would have taken some flak, but they would also have sold thousands of cars without the major investment of the MCE. Major mistake, IMO. The MCE was going to happen anyway--by 2010, the car was already 5 years old in OZ..- 102 replies

2010 would have probably been too soon..they would have taken a lot of flak for having a G8 rebadge, so they waited until Holden had the MCE. Plus given GM's financial situation back then, it probably couldn't have happened.- 102 replies

Cheers or Jeers: 150 Mile 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra R
Robert Hall replied to wildmanjoe's topic in Auctions and Classifieds
Very familiar inside, so similar to my '87 GT. This was a car I lusted after when I was 25, I looked at buying a used regular '93 Cobra about 15 years ago. Now, I'd rather have a '12 Boss 302 Laguna Seca.. -

No manual option? understandable--most American consumers can't drive a manual, and the competition (Charger R/T and SRT8) isn't available w/ a manual either...... I like the styling overall, but the front fascia is nasty w/ the trendy fish mouth lower grille. At least in 2-plate states some of the ugliness will be hidden by the license plate. And in dark colors the vile black plastic bar won't be as noticeable. What is interesting is the fascia isn't a Chevy thing--Holden has some ugly front ends on past performance versions... Will be interesting to see how it compares to the Charger in inevitable comparison tests. I think I'd rather have the Charger--more distinctive interior and exterior, etc.- 102 replies

I like it, though I think I like the front fascia of the Calais more...a little chrome doesn't hurt. Don't care for the overdone lower front fascia. I'd like to see this in the '14 Corvette Lime Rock Green color w/ titanium color wheels... -

Have any of the Big 3 ever offered a light duty full size diesel pickup in the US before? I remember Chevy/GMC had a diesel in the '70s-80s but wasn't it only in the heavy duty models? Likewise for Ford and Dodge previously...

Morgan Stanley Auto Product Guidebook (rumors)

Fleetwood would be a great name to see for a large sedan, better than something like UTS or ZTS... -
Congrats! Great choice in a car, IMO...hope it serves you well for many years.

Yeah, this wreck brought that one to my mind as well. It was a G8 GXP as I recall. Yes, a red one IIRC and it was on Hwy 82 to Aspen....an incredible twisty mountain road I've drive a few times myself...a paved road that narrows from 2 to 1 lane in a few spots where it's a ledge along a mountainside...

Is that Sonoma Red there?

Nice...wasn't familiar w/ that site. One site I peruse occasionally for HW releases is this---http://www.southtexasdiecast.com/hwguide.html lists for each year and each series, lots of pics..

Speaking of the Stingray, IIRC a GM engineer totalled a G8 whilst testing in Colorado a few years back..

It's probably been said before, but the car this most reminds me of as far as the concept is the original Datsun 240Z 40+ years ago...a focused pure sports car...not trying to be a muscle car or anything else. Nice to see a company building such a car in today's market which is focused on bland, soulless FWD appliances...
-
Same situation here. I hadn't really thought about it, but now that you mention it, I see what you mean...

Looks like blood on the right rear door window, right by the front seat in the 2nd pic.. I guess the Stingray driver exceeded his skills on a winding road and lost it... I was referring to the wrecked Grand Marquis in Drew's post--2 pics. As for the Stingray, there are 2 pics at one site (Jalopnik? not sure where I saw it)--but the 2nd is just an closeup of the first focused on the door and quarter panel...hard to tell in the pic if the door is open or the outer skin is loose..

Last car ever? Maybe he's planning to switch to a unicycle or Segway in the future..

Problem is, with Epsilon II they can't make the wheelbase much longer because then they would run into the Impala....of course, the Fusion has a longer wheelbase than both the 'short' and 'long' wheelbase versions of Epsy Dos. Weak..with Epsilon II GM has downsized to 1990 era mid- and full- size FWD wheelbases.

I'm not sure why one would consider an odd rounded character line on the decklid would add more appeal...it's just a tired styling cue from the Bangle era BMWs that is now overdone and played out...when a styling cue like that is used on an appliance like the new Malibu, it's day is done and is inappropriate for premium brand models...
