  1. They haven't shown the Statesman/Caprice updates yet, wonder how they will appear...I assume the US Caprice PPV will get those changes eventually.
  2. I liked the previous Commodore styling as well, never cared for the taillights on the G8.
  3. Given that Buick has been FWD only for over 15 years, it wouldn't fit in there.
  4. I would assume the Colorado is the size it is as that is where the competition is size-wise--the non-US Ranger, the Frontier, the Tacoma. As for the SS, I assume it will look more like the performance version of the Commodore as far as the front fascia, interior trim, etc....with a smaller top grille than the Calais shown here and big lower grille (like the new NASCAR SS). I saw an image of how the performance version could look yesterday but can't find it now.
  5. It's definitely heavy enough....but needs more like 425hp.
  6. Since the Chevy SS is more sports sedan than luxury, I assume there will be a lot more gray and black trim... The rear end design resembles the Malibu quite a bit but w/ better taillight integration...
  7. I like the new interior...
  8. Nice...a clean refresh of the current car.
  9. Most premium cars in this class are leases in the US, aren't they? Most consumers aren't thinking beyond the next 3 years w/ one.
  10. That was the point I was making.. I have no interest in tiny, fwd 4cyl cars... I'd like to see more large V8 RWD cars...not enough of them anymore...like a modern day GM B-body or Ford Panther...with the latest cabin tech and interiors and the latest V8s and transmissions, and at least 4000lbs. The problem w/ the later Panthers is they didn't evolve and were stuck in the early '90s. The Taurus is a decent rental car, but I wouldn't want one--4cyl and FWD and too tall and narrow looking. I do like the 300C and Charger quite a bit, though...
  11. Manufacturer road testing? Probably..they do a lot of that here. 2nd one I've seen, saw one in person at Barrett-Jackson last month.
  12. One thing that is sad today is that while cars continue to devolve into smaller and smaller forms, trucks are still as huge and obese as ever. Not fair for car enthusiasts.
  13. You are probably right...aerodynamics....wedge shapes...
  14. I was behind some fins the other day in a parking lot...guy was driving a primer gray '60 Caddy 2dr ht, black steel wheels and whitewalls... pretty cool to see a 50+ yr old car out and about....one of my favorite Caddy fin designs is probably the '61--sharp pointy fins + skegs FTW. The wierdest fins also were in '61 IMO---Dodge's reverse ones, specifically the Dart,, I don't know if fins could make a come back, but I'd love to see longer decklids again...it's just so striking how long the decklids on the typical full size (or even '60s midsize cars) were in the '50s-60s...I wonder if the currently ubiquitous stubby tall tail look will ever go away...
  15. Saw a dark gray '14 Silverado Crew Cab in traffic tonight....1st one I've seen on the road...
  16. From the album: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4

States I've visited in my '87 Mustang GT between 1987 and 2001.
  17. From the album: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4

States I've visited in my '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee since Aug 2000.
  18. Neat.. My Jeep has only been in 5 states...Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona. Put over 140k miles on it in over 12 years. My '87 Mustang GT, on the other hand, has been in 22 states (midwest, east, south, west to Colorado). Did a lot of road trips in it the first 10 years I had it. Has only 63k miles. (forgot Connecticut on the map, but I did drive through there on trips from Ohio to Boston). The other cars I've had have been only in 1-2 states each. I've visited more states, but those have usually been fly-n-rent-a-car trips (Hawaii, the West Coast states, etc). The only states I've never been in are Alaska, Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Mississippi.
  19. At one time in Canada the Dodge Intrepid was sold as a Chrysler, seen a couple w/ Chrysler spelled out on the doors, didn't see if they had the winged Chrysler badge on the front or rear though....which doesn't make sense--Dodge has been a brand in Canada for decades, right?
  20. Good news: you land a dream job. You really, really like it. Bad news: After a few months, they hire your old boss (that you despise) to be your new boss. (been there, done that)
  21. uline magazine storage boxes are the bomb...I boxed up almost 5 years worth (since April '08) recently and took them off to my storage unit. Except for a couple, I've gone electronic on car mags and read them on my tabby.
  22. The dash looks much better than the F150...kind reminds me of a mashup of F150 and '05-09 Mustang dash themes...
  23. Don't forget the Ram Pro Master...pics of it are starting to show up online.
  24. I bet the aftermarket will come up w/ a chrome trim piece to overlay the grille inspired by the toothy '53-60 appearance. Looking at the pictures in Car & Driver and Road & Track, I realize I don't think I've seen a picture of the base model w/o the rear spoiler--the deck spoiler is part of the Z51 package according to the mags. I like the interior, at least from the pics I've seen so far... For some reason, everytime I see the new crossed flags badge I think of an older Firebird badge..
