Or a place to install child or dog seats The Maserati coupe and convertible is a neat car, see a few around once in a while...fairly scarce.

Looks decent, probably would get lost in the US market--the profile resembles several other compact 5dr hatchbacks..some Mazda3, some Kia, etc in there.
-
6 inches, looks like... also, the 2dr wheelbase was about 6 inches longer than the Ford Bronco, which was only 104.7. 2-door: 111.5 in (2,832 mm) 4-door: 117.5 in (2,985 mm)

With the Wrangler? Probably. The standard Wrangler has a very short wheel base. With the Tahoe 2-door no, not much difference at all. Was the 2dr Tahoe on a shorter wb than the 4dr ?

That's the point I was making... I know the technology is advanced and how they drive is probably incredible, but the designs of these new supercars leave me cold. They all look like they were drawn up by 12 yr old video gamers. There is nothing like the beauty of designs like the Miura, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 250 Lusso, Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona) etc in them... there is no sexy in these modern supercar designs, only bling, brutality and violence.

Vile and disgusting styling, IMO....with the red-rimmed wheels it looks like one of Hot Wheels fantasy models scaled up to 1:1. About the only Lamborghinithat I ever liked for the styling was the Miura...saw one in person once, what a beautiful shape.

Odd they used the feminine form of 'the' instead of the masculine 'il'....some interesting styling directions..more interesting than the hideous McLaren P1 or the overwrought, cheesy Lambo Veneno, IMO.

Of the last two, I'd seriously consider the Beetle TDI. Seems like it would be a great commuter car..and road trip car. Overall, I'd have to seriously consider the Golf or Beetle....I'm generally not a small car fan, but a small solidly built diesel I could go for..and I really like VW interiors...

They were nice back in the day...when I had my Bronco II I looked pretty seriously at getting a full size Bronco.
-
I would think the 4dr would probably drive better on-road than the 2dr due to the longer wheelbase. I'd probably go for the 4dr also, been there done that w/ 2dr SUVs w/ my old Bronco II back in the day...4drs are just more useful.

Item: Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4
Robert Hall replied to Robert Hall's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
Replaced the battery back in January. Last week, had trouble starting it, the battery kept going flat even after charging. Turned out it was the starter...replaced it Saturday, drove it to work today (drove the DTS all last week). -
....gee...she buys a new car every 12-18 munts and you buy one every 12-18 minutes....what a coincidence....just kidding, pal... That's funny....I'm in my 12th year now since buying a new car... the Jeep just keeps going and going...

I test drove a soft-top Wrangler back in '00 when I bought my GC...it was ok, but too noisy and stripped down inside for highway use, IMO. I wouldn't mind one for an off-road rock crawler/mud plugger weekend toy, though.

I'd take the top off in the summer (normal place)/ winter (AZ)....the open air experience is a key part of what a Wrangler is all about...otherwise, it's just another SUV.
-
Interesting...some details remind me of the Mini Paceman and Citroen DS3.

They should have shown a profile photo and a rear 3/4 photo... Edit: found a couple high angle rear 3/4 views and a closeup of the tonneau and interior elsewhere..looks good.

I'd want the hardtop for summer here in the Valley of Doom and the hardtop for winter elsewhere.

In the early to mid '00s a friend of mine had a first-gen Grand Cherokee and an '00 Mustang GT convertible, and his girlfriend had an early '00s Jeep Wrangler for a daily driver...the 3 of us used to go off roading quite a bit in the mountains in Colorado. Alas, they got married, had kids, and the fun vehicles went, replaced by family-type vehicles--a Prius and a Sienna.

Neat how you can get the roof panels in body color...I usually seem them in matte black.

Back when the first Fast & The Furious movie came out I used to have kiddies in riced-out Eclipses, Civics, etc try and race me from stoplights when I was in my Mustang GT or my M3. Even in my Jeep (4500lbs, 195hp) I was able to pull away and leave 'em... If you were in the Mustang or the Bimmer, why did they even bother? did they really think their heavier-than-stock (bodykits), no-more-powerful (no mechanical mods) cars could really stand a chance? I've been able to fend off Civics and Eclipses with the Cobalt too, but I think even an E36 sedan is more than a match for me. Yeah, but they had their yellow windshield wiper--remember, yellow adds power, and they also had the giant fart-can muffler...

Nice spring day today, 82 degrees...saw a gorgeous black '67 Coupe de Ville out and about...rolling on vogues and wire wheels. Saw a clean dark blue '71 Cutlass Supreme convertible, top down.

GM News: GM Plans To Increase Production Of Plug-In Vehicles
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
Volt, Ampera, ELR...I would think a CUV would be next...but it will probably be something unique rather than an existing CUV model...buyers of plugin hybrids want uniqueness... -
Took the words right out of my mouth. I will make one guilty admission about the new Cherokee, though. I see one heritage cue in the entire design and I sort of appreciate its interpretation. That kinked seven-slot grille was sort of there on the earlier XJs and the YJ Wrangler. That element on its own would be fine if the surrounding details on the KL were better and more traditional. I made the connection on the grille also... I like the grille...it's the lighting I find horrific. If it had lighting similar to the current Compass and Grand Cherokee (or the Patriot's round lights), I'd find a lot more to like about the design..instead, it seems like they are trying to emulate the Juke with it's similarly weird lighting arrangement.
