  1. I like it... definitely has a vintage Bond theme feel...fits well w/ the Shirley Bassie songs...looking fwd to the new Bond movie..
  2. On the GMC Canyon & Chevy Colorado, the fleet option is called a Mid-Box: That is a neat feature.
  3. Marketing. They are emphasizing Ram as Chrysler's truck brand, like Jeep is their SUV brand.
  4. Wild chase..don't think I've seen that movie.
  5. I'm sure the FWD ones sell well in sunbelt states...99% of drivers don't need off road capabilities.
  6. I find Hyundais overstyled and too cheesy in many of the details. The Golf is about the only FWD compact I could see myself in, it has a seriousness about it that I like...esp. the GTI...would be nice if the GTD was sold here.
  7. CA is one of my favorite old-car mags, along w/ Hemmings Classic Cars, Motor Trend Classic, Octane and Classic & Sports Car. I've subscribed to CA for 20 years now..
  8. Saw a clean dark gray '73-77 El Camino in traffic this morning...couldn't see the nose, so not sure of the year. Also saw a Chevy Colorado pickup with a door in the bedside--had a door handle just like on the cab..unusual...some sort of aftermarket work bed, maybe?
  9. You thinking about getting eyelashes for your Regal?
  10. If there isn't a glut of existing empty office space, more office buildings usually lead to more jobs..that's a good thing.
  11. A deployable step in the tailgate like on the Ford Super Duty would be nice to see, and also a step like that under each door--maybe one that extends when you open the door, retracts when you close the door. Lighted, of course. I'm not exactly short, but find a full size truck or SUV (esp. a 4x4 one) awkward to climb into...can only imagine how it is for small women and older folks.
  12. I've driven a couple of rentals w/ back up cameras recently...CTS and Yukon. I like how GM integrates the screen into the rear view mirror..they work pretty well, but sometimes are not useful because of shadows (esp. at night). It's probably not a feature I'd specifically order on a car, but if it's there I'm not going to complain.
  13. Sharp car.. I don't think I've seen a Regal GS in person yet...seen a few Regals up close and I really like the rear 3/4 view...
  14. A buddy of mine in high school and his Dad took their '81 Olds 88 diesel 4dr and replaced the diesel w/ a well modified SBC. It had a great exhaust note and was deceptively fast, w/ a vinyl top rolling on white wall tires and wire wheel hubcaps...wonder what ever became of that car.
  15. The body looks good....just spray a lot of primer over the rust---I did that on the rusty underside bits of my Bronco II for 3 years....6 years in Ohio and 3 in Michigan left it quite rusty underneath when I moved to Colorado. In retrospect, I should have used spray on bedliner stuff instead, probably.
  16. Yeah, about the only thing I've bought from them is air filters, batteries, and seat covers. O'Reily has a corporate office (formerly CSK's corporate HQ) down the street from my house, and the consulting firm I work for has O'Reilly as a client and I've heard horror stories about the people that work in IT for them, so I can only imagine how it is at the floor level...
  17. I don't think that was a problem - this place was always busy. You can see three independent repair shops while standing in the store. I think it was a consolidation, same guy owns the NAPA franchise that's in a better building a few towns away. That's going to be a pain for the repair shops... I'm lucky in my area--the independent shop that I frequent has an O'Reilly next door.. OUCH, you know before they were O'Reilly's they are known as Shucks. Shucks I got the wrong part, Shucks I should have bought from Napa or OEM. I have not had good experiences with that chain unless I could pick out the product myself. They were Checkers before here...
  18. Convertible season is approaching, though it's still warm (105 today)...saw a very clean late '80s dark blue Camaro IROC-Z convertible in traffic this morning, top up.

  20. Well, if there is reduced demand for the product, then NAPA probably couldn't profitably keep the store open. Stores come, stores go..
  21. Consider a bicycle. They seem very popular w/ college students, can be cheap, reliable, and easy to maintain. Plus, no electronics.
  22. The mainstream consumers (or 'idiots' as you label them) are the 99%.... the mainstream automakers and dealers have no reason to waste time on you....that's just the way it is. Who do think is buying all the FWD 4cyl automatic appliances? The mainstream consumers. I have no interest in them or their car choices, but the automakers and dealers can't ignore them.
  23. Like a modern Monte Carlo or something? The 'personal luxury' genre seems to be pretty dead today...
  24. Well the 307 is a very common engine used up until 1992... Did the FWD installations have a different starter than the RWD ones?
