  2. Alas, $35k is about the entry point for anything interesting anymore...under that, and it's FWD appliances by and large.
  3. Epsilon II has some inheirent shortcomings as seen from the Malibu to the XTS--too narrow and both wheelbases are too short..have to wonder what GM was thinking, unless their dimensions were compromised by having to make the SWB platform a global platform.. It will be interesting to see how Malibu sales are in a year or so, after they've had all the variations on sale for a while, esp. compared against the Accord, Altima, Camry and Fusion.
  4. An Aus CNG system probably wouldn't work in NA, though. Why? Would the fittings be compatible? Is the fuel compatible? Different countries, different markets..not to mention trying to get it certified by the EPA. Is that your researched statement or matter of personal opinion regarding fitting and fuel compatibility? As far as being certified by EPA does not mean not working of a system in NA. Just being skeptical. Stuff from one market rarely works in another market without changes.

  6. The dark orange (copper?) color on that phantom '55 El Camino is goregous...

  8. flatulence
  9. This reminds me of the screwup the DMV did when I first moved to AZ...I got my new driver's license...then noticed about a month later that the sex field was marked 'F'. No wonder I kept getting strange looks from the TSA drones at the airport...
  10. I could see a FWD 4cyl El Camino Eco based on the Sonic or Cruze more likely for NA than the Holden ute...that would fit a 'green' image...
  11. We are full of Ohioans here in AZ also...including myself..and I grew up in FL.
  12. I like that color...I also like the Burgandy Caddies used back then also like on my sister's DTS..
  13. Love those shades of blue.
  14. It's obviously a vast conspiracy by GM to thwart Camino LS6's hopes and dreams.
  15. Saw a pink current-style SRX in traffic yesterday afternoon, and a white Volt last night at dinner..the Volt looks rather sharp at night under parking lot lighting, definitely more interesting looking that it's nemesis (the Prius).
  16. Funny that it would get a light truck tarrif...it's really a 2dr sedan w/ a large open trunk..
  17. Seems like a general problem w/ models built on the Epsilon II platform..too heavy, too narrow, and the wheelbases are too short (in both lengths).
  18. And Brits would probably pronounce it 'LANK-ester'. Then there is Baltimore which locals call 'BALLmer' I've heard...
  19. Reality is complex, as is perception.
  20. Happy Birthday, Mr Fap!
  21. Incorrect, sir. Daimler-Benz acquired Freightliner in 1981! Since then, D-B has also acquired American-LaFrance, the AeroMax HD truck division from Ford, Thomas-Bilt buses, Western-Star HD trucks, Detroit Diesel, and a number of other, smaller companies. D-B has had a PLETHORA of brand names to plate their commercial trucks. They have had M-B branded commercial trucks for decades before those acqusitions, though. Prove it....one can argue having the brand name on heavy commercial vehicles enhances their reputation of longevity and toughness...
  22. Tis a wicked beastly Buick.
