  1. I've seen 3 iQs this week..one white, one black, one a metallic orange..saw a green '13 Mustang Boss 302 and a black '13 Mustang GT..
  2. To me, those look really dated now, like the 4th gen Camaros do...
  3. Interesting...I thought Amelia Island was traditionally the East Coast's Pebble Beach rival. Nice to see another classic car show on the schedule. I'd like to go to one of the big Concours sometime...I've been to some decent local ones in Colorado and one in So Cal (Dana Point).
  4. Speaking of a Pinto and Versa...my sister's first car was a Pinto, and a couple years ago, she had a Versa rental here when both her Mercs were in the shop...I rode in it...strange little car.
  5. I haven't memorized the numbers, but how big is the power gap between the M3 and M5, or C63 and E63? IIRC, the gap is narrow, esp. with the AMGs.
  6. 450hp seems sufficient for an ATS-v...wouldn't want it getting too close to the CTS-v power level...
  7. In my current company (which is a consulting company w/ only 12 people): Grand Cherokee ('00) (moi) Grand Cherokee ('02) and current-gen Chevy Tahoe (sales VP) VW CC (my boss/CEO) Acura TL (current gen, co-CEO) VW Jetta (1997 or so) Honda Civic hybrid Honda Civic (2003 or so) Hyundai Sonata (previous gen) Toyota Tacoma (this guy also has a Cessna and '71 Chevelle project car) Toyota Prius Honda Accord (about a 2000 or so) VW Golf GTI and Mercedes Sprinter camper This company has a much lower percentage of Toyotas that other larger places I've worked over the last 15 years...
  8. Those are stereotypes also, though....I know some DB BMW/MB/Audi owners, but most I know are good people..hard working tech professionals..same w/ the Prius drivers.
  9. In my demographic bubble of people I know personally IRL (well-educated people 25-45 working in the software industry, primarily developers, a few management types) in the Phoenix and Denver metro areas, I know very few GM owners...for mainstream brands, most have Honda, Toyota, some Nissan, VW, and Hyundai products, and for premium brands, Acura, BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, and Volvo..a few Jeep owners. I do personally know very few people out of this sample that are GM owners--one couple has a TrailBlazer and a Rendezvous, the other has his-and-hers Escalades (a regular one and an EXT--they previously had a BMW X5 and a Merc ML), another guy has a 4th gen Camaro Z-28 convertible and a Silverado, another has a '69 Chevelle and is looking at buying a new Camaro 1LE. Anecdotal, to be sure, but troubling considering the preponderance of Camrys, Civics, Corollas, and Priuses in my circle of friends and colleagues.
  10. Someone is trolling...wonder if it's smk's alter ego...
  11. Whatever...Wikipedia didn't have the weight numbers for the MKT..I assumed it was as heavy as the similarly sized Lambdas....it's just another ugly CUV... and I don't have an 'agenda' here.
  12. Sounds like the last current-gen Liberty is going to be built August 21st. At least a year or more until the next gen is due..sounds like they didn't plan out the end of the current gen and start of the next gen very well.
  13. Apparently, 2011 was the last year for the Element in the US.
  14. I previously mentioned, the turbo 4 has the same output as the outgoing V8. The MKT probably weighs 1000lbs more than the TC did...a 4cyl in the MKT is absurd as a 4cyl in the Enclave or Acacia would be..
  15. True, but still just 4 cyls...it will be interesting to see how the current turbo 4 trend plays out...turbo 4s were fairly widespread in the 80s, most of them turned out to be crap and a passing fad.
  16. FWD cars w/ 4cyl engines... not my area of interest, though I've probably driven Malibu and Fusion rentals w/ 4cyls and haven't noticed it. I have 3 rentals in the next 6 weeks scheduled, hopefully can avoid 4 cyls.
  17. The quad rectangular headlights look great on those cars...I always thought the single round headlights on GM and Chrysler midsize models then looked like a cheapskate move....
  18. And quietly and smoothly..two qualities 4 cyls aren't known for.
  19. I was only 5 when these cars came out, but I vaguely remember them around...my brother was working at a Ford dealer then, and drove home many demos, incl. a black Thunderbird of this vintage, a Torino, an Elite and others...one of his buddies had a black w/ red top and red interior '75 Grand Prix...I have memories of riding in that car from around 1976-77...my brother bought a '75 Mustang II Mach 1 then, and my sister got a '76 Pinto Runabout the following year. My Mom was driving the '68 Cougar and '69 Mustang up until then, but in '77 got one of the new 'small' angular Thunderbirds (white w/ blue interior and blue partial vinyl top)...those were a reskinned '72-76 Torino. So the family cars were a '76 Lincoln Continental 4dr and '77 T-Bird until '80 when they traded them for the downsized '80 Lincoln and T-Bird...
  20. Looking at their website, it looks like they are a new car dealer..Chevy and Cadillac. http://www.jeancharlesautomobiles.fr/
  21. I wouldn't include the regular Cutlass or other standard midsize, but you did include the Elite and Cougar XR-7, which is why the Regal and Cutlass Supreme should be there along w/ the Monte Carlo and Grand Prix.the Fury doesn't belong because of the Cordoba (Chrysler-Plymouth brand). The Thunderbird, Mark IV, Eldo, Toro, and Riviera are really in a separate category--full size personal luxury coupes, while the others are all mid size personal luxury coupes.
  22. Going to disagree here (in part after viewing the '75 Plymouth brochure). Tho they billed it a 'compact' in '75, seems clear the Duster would go against the Malibu, not the Fury. Even downsized (vs. the Gran Fury), the "new" Fury was still plenty large- 214" overall. Where I would agree is, I don't think it measured up image-wise well with the others listed above (Oh how far the Fury had fallen from supercar status!), to the point most overlooked it. Nah, Vailant/Duster lined up against the Maverick and Nova, Fury was against the Torino and Malibu. It was a midsize--the bumpers made it longer. The Torino and Malibu were large as well, though the 2drs had shorter wheelbases.
  23. In the olden days when GM had a lot of money and power, they would have squashed Spyker like a bug.
